Christ Church is located not far from the banks of River Niger. Was founded in the 1800s by a former slave, and the first African Bishop of the Anglican (Episcopalian) church, Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther. Was a cradle for the spread of Christianity in Eastern Nigeria.
