Saint John's Catholic Church Parish Umuwala in Nkwerre Local Government is one of the Parishes under the Catholic Diocese of Orlu. Located about one kilometer off Nkwerre - Umudi road the Church was inaugurated in 2003 as a parish after operating as an out station for many years. This new structure is just opposite the National Primary School is the biggest building in the community. However, the building was constructed too close to the main road and need to be fenced to avoid children running out from this auditorium during worship sessions. Parking space could be a problem here except if vehicles will be allowed to park in the school field.
