I was on a 3 weeks holiday in Abuja Nigeria and looking for a good restaurant where I can settle my taste bud. Luckily I was able to search on instagram and Fuschia was recommended. Long story short, the visit was worth it as I enjoyed the Oha soup and I visited the restaurant everyday for my whole stay in Abuja. I’ll call again when next I visit the country. Great place to be

Great ambiance; comfortable, spacious, and good spacing for conversation or meeting. Centrally located. Courteous and friendly team. The wait time for food needs to be addressed and find a more efficient way to deliver fresh meals/ soups. 40 mins wait is too long. The soyps/ food are definitely worth the wait.

Birth in a country with diverse ethnicity, well you know that means different backgrounds, languages, fashion and of course, a variety of dishes. Regardless of the fact that there has been a decline in the African cultural heritage, Nigerians seem to be holding on tight to theirs especially in regards to their cuisines and dishes, and have found a way to repackage, modify and improve the taste and quality of their dishes.

After having a great day, ladened with good news, I decided to go all “IBILE” and treat myself to some local dishes.  Driving through Aminu Crescent, Wuse, Abuja. I spotted a Native restaurant, called Fuschia Restaurant. Intrigued by the name and the serene environment, I decided to walk in and trust me, I was blown away. The interior décor is distinctive, simple but unique. It is spacious and well ventilated. The painting is artistic and garishing, giving the environment a vibrant and lively look. The seats are comfortable and well-arranged. The tables are well placed and decorated with beautiful table mats and small flower vases. It comes with so much serenity, you just have to sit, relax and enjoy the serenity.

Their staffs are very professional and friendly, they welcome and usher you with a smile. For photo enthusiasts like myself, they are on stand-by and are passionate about taking exceptional image shots, getting the angles right.

Comfortably seated, I looked through the menu. They have a section for Soups which includes Afang soup, Okro soup, Edikang soup, Egusi soup, Ogbono soup, Sea Food okro, White soup etc, proteins include Assorted (Goat meat and cow meat), beef, goat meat, cowleg, chicken, shaki, snails, gizzard, fish (Tilapia, stockfish, croaker, titus, calabar fresh fish), and of course, swallow such as, semo, garri and wheat to go with the soups. They serve rice too, native rice, jollof rice, fried rice, coconut rice, etc. They also serve porridge (yam, beans and plantain) and side dishes like pepper soup(with option of fish and snail), isiewu (goat head), isiazu(fish), liver and kidney sauce, vegetable salad, Sauce (goat, fresh fish, chicken, snail), chips and egg, and last but not least a dish they call Fuschia special. Their drinks include: cocktails, chapman, Long island Iced Tea, etc. Wow right??

Well, since I wanted to go “Ibile”, i decided to try their Semo and Afang soup. To be honest, I was wowed!! The semo was well made, soft and smooth just the way I like it. The soup is rich and well garnished, it gave me goose bumps and brought back childhood memories of my calabar aunt we used to visit during festive seasons (good times!!). The protein was well seasoned, Damn!! Had to applaud the Chef and tip the courteous waiter. To cool off, I ordered their Long island Iced Tea mix, and yes, I was bedazzled.

Well, after my visit, I had to share this new discovery with my friends and of course they were swept off their feet. I highly recommended this restaurant to everyone who loves African local dishes or would love to try it, trust me you will not regret anything you order from Fuschia Restaurant. It is warm, cozy, private and serene. I had a blast and I’m certain you will too. CHEERS TO THE GOOD LIFE!!!

Fuschia restaurant is the bomb!!!
Food is prepared fresh so you may have to call ahead but even if you don't, the wait is always worth it.
Vegetable soup, sea okro soup, ogbono, afang with garri, pounded yam or any other swallow of your choice; jollof rice, fried rice, and others. The freshly squeeze orange juice with ice is also plate-scintillating.
This is the place to treat your special persons to. 😍😋
