Hai Thien Seafood Restaurant

Heard from the locals that even the Perlis Royal family visited this place. The atmosphere is good very spacious as compared to the old shop. The Nyonya Steam Fish and the Salad Char Kueh are the top 2 must order! I am not sure whether the restaurant has halal cert but the menu serves pork free dishes so many malay locals visit the shop too. 👍🏻

My favourite is always the deep fried squid, kam heong grab, and french beans with salted radish. Come early, otherwise you have to que. Price is very reasonable.

It’s my first time eating prawn salad and theirs one is soo nice! The oyster omelette was also nice and well cooked.

The soft shell crab was abit dry, probably can order something with gravy. And please don’t order mango kerabu here though.

Overall I was really enjoy eating here!

Everything I go to Perlis, this is a definitely on my list of foods that I am craving for. This is one of the best Halal Seafood around, visited by Perlis Royal Family too. Love their Siakap steam with lime, big portion of soup base as giving to match with the fish. Steam mini squid with lime is cooked to perfection, Cheese scallop and stir fried preserved vege "cai pu" with yarlong bean are surprisingly good. Don't forget to order the satay which served by a stall outside the restaurant, the peanut sauce is kinda special.

We ordered 8 dishes (all small portion), for less than RM150.00, hence, it is a must try when u are around this area.

A recommended restaurant for seafood lovers, as it serves very fresh seafood. The fish is very nicely cooked, flesh is tender. Other dishes are pretty good too, except for the duck which is too dry and hard to bite. Couldn't comment on price and serving time, as the food was pre-ordered and served once we arrived, and the bill was paid for.

This is my 2nd time here and my oh my, it did not disappoint!

The siamese-cooked siakap is the star. Very comforting, packed with flavour and beautifully prepared.

Butter prawn & kam heong clam sedap. But you can't come here, and not get the Udang Lipan Cabai Kering (Chilli Fried Mantis Prawn). Oh God, so so good. And of course, cakoi mayo juga benda wajib untuk dipesan.

For beverage, we got the apple juice, orange juice & watermelon juice. Semua sedap & rasa pure buah.

Overall, 5🌟

Tasty food with affordable prices. 4 dishes with watermelon juice, iced tea and 1 plate of rice costed us RM85 only. Service tip top with polite staffs at counter. Worth coming back and try other dishes.

The reason I avoided Hai Thien last time was because it serves liquor. Currently, I noticed it serves no alcohol and this attracts Muslims customers like myself. Hai Thien is a proper Chinese food restaurant which I can say Muslim friendly in Perlis. I ordered jenahak Siamese steam, kailan ikan masin, butter prawn, crab meat tofu and apple asam boi juice (a jug). The winner is the crab meat tofu, where Hai Thien used real crab meat instead of artificial crab sticks.

Very delicious and mouth-watering fusion of seafood dishes, perfectly suitable for Malaysian palate. Fair price, good location. Do avoid coming by at peak hours, as there could be no available table

Been here since previous location located next to jetty. You can get varieties of seafood menu- Chinese style here. Here I share some menu that you can consider.

B4 that, once the order is taken, u ll be serve with shandong nuts, n 2types of spicy sauce (sambal).

1. Butter 🦐 prawn
Crispy n butterly taste, the taste is maintained delicious for yearsss.

2. Shark fin soup
Sound dangerous but it taste so heaven. Come with crab, shitake mushy, abalone. Suitable for kids tho.

3. Mantis 🍤/ udang lipan masak cili kering
*My mouth is watering while writing
Mild spicy, the mantis prawn crispy, the sauce is thick and so sedap.

4. Kerabu mangga@ mango salad
Just nice, balance taste. Not too sour. Anchovies super crunchy.

5. Chakoi mayo
More to special fish cake that been deep fried, with mayo. Nice taste.

6. Ikan bawal emas masak sembilang
*My mom unable to translate this haha. But this is how we told the lady.
Must try, really and seriously sedap delicious 🤤 got ginger n dried chilies, the taste Soo ngam

7. Clamp Kam heong
Spicy sour sweet balance taste.

LOCATION
Near to the Beach and easy to find.

AMBIANCE
Very simple and easy going restaurant, the typical average seafood restaurant with a simple layout. Cleanliness is acceptable. Toilets are clean.

SERVICE
Service was fast like really fast, we waited no longer than 15mins for all the food that we ordered. 8 dishes in total.
Staff was efficient and friendly. Very attentive to all of our request.

WAIT TIME
Usually 30-45mins, before you get a table. Be patient as it is worth the wait.

F&B QUALITY
I'd say it's pretty good and tasty. 8 out of 10. We liked the soft shell crab the most and the udang lipan cili kering. That was really really good. The drinks are freshly made, we had the ambra asam boi. Delish.

PRICE
This is what surprised me the most. For all the 8 dishes we ordered, we expected the bill to come at around RM500 plus, as that is the usual. But it came to only RM250. Walauwei.

CONCLUSION
If you're looking for a GOOD and CHEAP seafood restaurant, this restaurant ticks all the boxes. Definitely worth the wait and visit. You will not disappoint. Highly recommended. I've also post the menu for your reference. Enjoy !!!

Great food, nice location, comfortable service, clean environment, I think it’s must be the best restaurant on town, no doubt!

Food was great and will be back. It is a place where the locals will go for seafood. We had prawns, steam fish , fried chicken and kangkung belacan. Spacious with both air cond and open air concept. We were there about
6 pm and it was already quite a lot of people.

So worth driving up here! Very tasty food!
