Came here for a 3d2n camping trip. Gets cold at night and morning. Has the perfect cooking location right in front of the river. Barbecue pit with wood available. Sound of nature’s jacuzzi can be heard 24/7. Electricity generated by a mini hydro. There is no phone line, no water heater. Bring walkie talkies if you’re travelling in groups. Need to get through about an hour of gravel road and rocks to reach destination. Activities include hikes and night walks. Leech alert. Nevertheless a beautiful place to be in. Ecotourism at it’s best.

Friendly guide. We reached past midnight, we decided to just sleep around the balcony even though the guide gave us a room/tent option. We opt for mattress provided instead coz they were worried for us. Had fun while we were there. Nice chilly place. Nearby waterfall. This is the starting point for Mount Minodtuhan, 2360 a.s.l. If you love misty, mossy forest, this is the place to be. Leech infested trail though. 14km return trip. This place is under Sabah Park, so conservation fee applies.

You'll definitely need a 4wd to reach this place as the road leading here is mostly gravel and rocks once you go past Camp Paradise and the villages after it. But, it's a wonderfully peaceful place and the waterfall nearby is great for having a refreshing dip in. Guides are on hand to take you on the different trails if you're interested, but be ready to face leeches if it's wet season. Call Sabah Parks for more information.

After Sayap Village there is an entrance to Kinabalu National Park which provides access to marked trails in stunning forest, one of which leads to an impressive three tier waterfall. Toilet facilities are provided at the entrance but limited other facilities. It's a 3 - 3.5 hour drive from Kota Kinabalu and take with you your own refreshments and suitable clothing for trekking. There is an option for overnight camping (take your own jungle hammock).

Spent here 4d3n for camping trip, mainly for hiking trail. Trail is rather challenging, with many steep paths. We went after a rain so the paths were quite slippery at some places and it can be dangerous if you are not wearing proper footwear. The forest is infested with lots of leeches so be careful, it is advisable to wear protective footwear and definitely not slippers.
