A real old coffee shop that serves the best butter kaya toast we had in Melaka (and we had quite a few). Half boiled eggs were done to perfection. Their nasi lemak and coffee were also very good. We were there just after 6 am on a Sunday morning and it was already very busy with locals. Great place for local breakfast and very good value.

Decided to give this local coffee shop a try after seeing many good reviews. Was indeed a good place for breakfast if you are looking for simple local food. This area can be crowded but for those who drive, you can park opposite the road with lots of allocated parking lots available. Was disappointed that the noodles stall was not open during our visit, however the coffee and kaya toast make it up for it. Coffee was good and aromatic, kaya toast was tasty and nicely toast, chicken rice and the Chicken rice ball is a must try! Rice were fragrant and the chicken was tender and flavorful! Will definitely be back again when I’m in Malacca. Thumbs up 👍🏻

I believe this is the only coffee shop that opens at 5am in Melaka. Visited twice conservatively. The lady owner is very friendly and always smiling. That really makes a difference especially early in the morning. The coffee & tea is good. Coffee with the aroma that will lift up your day. The half-boiled eggs are nicely done. The toast is crunchy, with the generous butter and kaya that perfect the toast. They have other side stalls, not in operation in the early morning. The Nasi Lemak is good too. Yet to try the economical bee Hoon (fried thin white noodles). Cost less than MYR 9, definitely worth it! Keep it up.

During our visit to this bustling eatery, we sampled a variety of dishes, each offering a unique taste experience. The chicken rice was simply delicious, leaving us craving more, although we were disappointed that the rice balls were already finished.

The curry mee fell a bit short of our expectations, with limited ingredients and a taste that didn't quite hit the mark. However, the pan mee was a delightful surprise, boasting an amazing flavor that would undoubtedly bring us back for seconds.

The toasted bread with kaya was one of the best we've tried in a long time, and the Hainam cham coffee perfectly complemented our meal with its rich and aromatic taste.

Despite the crowded atmosphere and a 15-minute wait for a table, we would definitely return in the future for another round of pan mee and kaya toast, paired with a satisfying cup of Hainam cham coffee.

At first, i went into the shop just for a normal daily breakfast since i passed through the place constantly & they have good quantity amount of customer everyday. Wasn’t expecting anything special, ordered a half boiled egg, kaya butter toast, and a coffee. Normal taste of coffee, normal boiled eggs, what special is their charcoal burned toast, it blew my mind in a mild way. Highly recommend as i also brought few friend from other states that they were surprise too!

Kopi and cham was excellent. The roti bakar was good with butter in the toast. The half boiled eggs are beautiful done. The nasi lemak and mee siam are delicious as well. Shop is crowded and some queueing can be expected.

Tasty with cold butter and kaya toast. This is really a local cuisine. Sitting with local and enjoying the toast, drinking a cup of malay tea with milk. Everything is just perfect. But be careful it is a bit crowded with a lot of ppl.

This is the best Hainam kopi and Kaya butter toast I ever had in my life. The kopi is so smooth with generous amounts of Kaya in the bread and it will not taste too sweet! A must eat food when you come to Melaka! Strongly recommended!

What a way to start our weekend at this coffeeshop. Coffee was aromatic; tea was average (in my opinion). Nyonya laska was flavourful, light and salty but not too creamy from the coconut milk; ingredients are home-made so it naturally tasted fresh and authentic. Nasi lemak is a solid 4 stars. The most impressive was the kaya-butter toast, amazing! Pair it with the soft boiled eggs and it becomes a solid 5 stars power booster for the day. Highly recommended.

Great breakfast spot that you can get the true/ typical Malaysian breakfast - kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, nasi lemak and beehoon bungkus. Very generous kaya and butter (cold) on the charcoal toasts that you can feel the cold butter melt in your mouth for every bite.

When I came here, everything was selling out by 11AM. They open early, so get here early if you want to get this bread.

I liked the bread, but we got cham ping, kopi ais etc and it was average. Other reviewers mentioned the hot drinks being enjoyable - try those instead. I will be, on my next visit!

They serve the best Roti Kahwin & soft boil eggs in Melaka.
Would be better if only non-smoking is fully imposed by the owner...

Great kopitiam. Simple, affordable, and tasty. Had the mee goreng, some other dry noodles, kaya toast, soft boiled egg, and laksa. I was hungry, OK? I was also with my family 😋

I just hope that the tourists don't come here. This 3rd generation original old style coffee shop is one of the last remaining traditional kopitiam places in Melaka. Already, I'm seeing a lot of local tourists. Once you get more tourists here, the place will lose its charm. Seriously to any tourists, just go to Jonker Walk, its way much better. Let's keep this place for the locals only and thank you.
