Amsterdam Cafe

I've come here two consecutive day last week for breakfast and lunch with my mom. Found this cafe on Google Maps & it was lovely. Staff really friendly, helpful and cheerful. They would greet everyone that come & always smiling making us feel very cosy and comfortable.This cafe runs by Muslim family and everything they serve are Halal. They accept QRPayment, Card and Cash. I notice that all pricing in the menu are even numbers, definitely useful for foreigners so they doesn't have to keep coins. We bought their tomato, it was so sweet and juicy. I don't even like tomato but this is exceptional. Do buy their tomatoes if available, highly recommend!

Here's my review on what we order.
Mocha & Caramel Macchiato- very tasty and delicious. My mom very particular with coffee so coffee from here is "Mama Approve". Comes with biscuit to enjoy.
Hot chocolate with marshmallows- not my liking bcs it is too sweet for me
Orange & Apple juice- It was from the box but I never seen the brand in supermarket before maybe they order specially? It was good, not very sweet.
Croissant (with butter&jam)- flaky, buttery just how I like it!
Farmer's meal- Our favourite! So delicious and very filling, eggs cook to perfection. This meal is the reason why we come here again.
Balsamico Salad- We never had balsamic dressing salad, so we order to try out. Not our favourite. But very fresh vegetables, also they serve their delicious tomato in this salad.
Mushroom soup & garlic bread - Not the best, need more improvement. Taste more cream that mushroom. Bread was ok, but too little garlic?
Pesto Pasta- Dislike, very jelak, pasta a little undercook.

I love how friendly the staff was. I went there around 9am, few people there. I ordered their scones, and omelette. It was lovely, enjoying my breakfast with hot chocolate. I will come back again for sure

Service : Excellent. Menu are on the table but order and pay up at the counter. Food arrived promptly.
Price : Cheap - normal.
Portion : Standard. Enough to make you full.
Taste : Tasty. Good spot for western food. They have a different menu for breakfast as to lunch onwards.
Parking : Easy to get in the morning. Quite hard to get parking during peak hours.

Overall/Remarks : Good spot for breakfast.

They serve the best coffee in the world!

It was so nice to drink Douwe Egberts coffee again. Just like home. Their latte is the best. I would definitely recommend you to go to the Amsterdam cafe and try the coffee.

I could go here every day to enjoy the nice atmosphere and great food. Nice breakfast options, sandwiches and local food for a good price. The WiFi is great too, so I spent a lot of time working at the Amsterdam cafe.

We found it by chance because all of the recommended eateries were extremely crowded.

It is the he best place for breakfast and brunch in Tanah Rata.

The ambience is nice and hearty.

Perfect place for those who don’t fancy lining up and waiting for seat to eat because you know during holiday seasons Cameron Highlands is very congested and packed with bountiful tourists.

I’ve had breakfast here 3 times. First time I had an English breakfast which was okay. The sausage and the meat slices were not very tasty, the rest was fine.

Other 2 times I had Nasi Lemak with Chicken with an extra egg (don’t know why but I was craving eggs so much these days lol) and it was a really nice Nasi Lemak!

I’ve had Nasi Lemak a lot throughout my stay in Malaysia, and this has been one of the best Nasi Lemaks I’ve had so far. It always came out hot and with an incredible aroma from the chicken.

The staff were also nice, spoke good English and always served me with a smile. Highly recommend for coffee and delicious Nasi Lemak.

Capital cafe now change ownership and is named Amsterdam cafe finally we have got a proper cafe in town that serves good quality food for breakfast lunch and dinner sandwiches with different sorts of fresh bread you can choose and good proper Dutch cheese. The grill chicken chopped is my favourite with mashed potatoes dressed with 3 to 4 types of mushrooms brocoli Asparagus only for Rm18. They have good coffee too. I love this place and the smiling staff is a +++ highly recommended the toilet is surprisingly clean thumps up.

If you're looking for place good food (read: mostly western), fast service and a nice ambience in Tanah Rata, give this place a try. I personally love their hot chocolate (tasted divine!) Will definitely go back just for this❤

I was having a reservation at first coz I saw quite an empty chiller containing muffins. And I was afraid it's gonna be another typical caffe-wannabe with mediocre menu over the lavish interior settings. I went again on the next day. I saw a two menus - one for food and one for beverage. I remembered I was feeling excited. I ordered Chai Latte, Mushroom Soup and Onion Bread. It was delicious and so decedent. I ordered again. This time, Cheese Stick and Pasta Agolio. It was superb. The cafe interior design is close to minimalist with a hint of French Riviera in summer. The staff is nice. I really dig the bjrd nest celing lamp. Plus, this cafe is less than 5 minutes from my hotel. I went to thos cafe again on my third day. I just couldn't get enough of the Mushroom soup!!!

Fresh and tasty food, cosy setting. Loved the Pizza, sandwiches made with super fresh ingredients (bite into the crunch and goodness) and burger buns to die for. The owners are amazingly friendly however the staffers need more PR training.

Our go to cafe for lunch everytime we touchdown in Cameron. Good food and abundance. Worth the price you're paying.

Cosy café with the friendliest owners. Coffee was great and the scones+tea set was delicious and affordable! :) My family and I really enjoyed ourselves.

American Breakfast and Long Black coffee is a must for breakfast. Located in the town of Tanah Rata, next to Planters Hotel, this cafe offers a variety of western and Malaysian dishes. A place where many western foreigners seek comfort and home-away-from-home gourmet, vibes and music as they begin or end the day here in Cameron Highlands. A must go to cafe while being here.

The best Western cafe I've been to so far in Tanah Rata, became my favourite almost instantly. Definitely recommended👍👍👍
