We loved our stay with Orou Sapulut & will come back for sure! AMAZING small scale eco tourism, involving the local communities and getting to know the Murut culture. Simply a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks again to Richard, Virgil & Joriah making our stay so special 💚 we will see you in 5 years! Jana & Johann

Great agrotourism destination in the south of Sabah! Simple, clean, comfortable and basic accomodation. The food is great for locals but they do cook western dishes, I suppose. Very cool, Murutic vibes and traditions that many Sabahans should experience. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend doing any tour you have the time for. Authentic, ethical and the most lovely people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The food was fresh, different and delicious. All of the money stays within the villages. Must do in Sabah!!!

What a great experience! We did the 3d2n tour and had a wonderful time in Orou Sapulot. Our lovely guide Jariah welcomed us warmly with her co-guide Ira and from the start we were cared for and informed thoroughly. All the people involved (and there were a lot just for the two of us) were extremely friendly and made us feel welcomed every place we went. There was always food around and all the meals tasted great. We had to get used to the fact that we had to have all the meals on our own (while having the guides and helping hands eating afterwards somewhere else) but we were told that it's part of their culture which we of course didn't want to change. The cave, the climb and the visit to the waterfall have been described in many other reviews and we can confirm that this were outstanding activities, especially the quite challenging climb to the top of Batu Punggiol, but it was worth it and the guides helped us going up and down safely without worries. Also the various, unconcealed chats and explanations of the Murut culture and traditions from Jariah, Ira and the founders of the tours, Virgil and Richard, were really interesting and enlightening. They are full of ideas how to further involve the local communities and improve their living situation and save and show the beauty of the Borneo rainforest which is not an easy task but very charitable mission. Even the dance performances of the Murut kids in the evening were a joy to watch with all their enthusiasm and excitement to share this with us. All in all we can definitely recommend the tour to anyone wishing to get into the history and present day living of the indigenous people of Borneo and also get a look into the wonders of nature of the Borneo rainforest off the beaten track. Thanks to the whole team for having us!

Nice experience of agro tourism, rock climbing and immersion into Murut culture if you have enough time in your itinerary. Quite a remote place, not always easy to fit in your travel plans. Climbing the Batu Pungul pinacle was challenging and felt a bit dangerous sometimes (no assistance) but thanks to skilled guides it was a great experience with an amazingly rewarding view from the top !
