We really enjoyed this cave and practically had it to ourselves for a bit. It’s a large cave with several options for tours. We did the dry tour, but it looked like the people on the wet tour were really having fun in th water down below us.

This is one really beautiful cave. I recommend all should at least visit it once to be enthralled by its natural beauty. This cave is awashed in a multitude of colours, it's simply beyond description. There are also different levels of tours tailored for individual capacity to traverse this 1.9 km long cave. Go visit. You will be amazed by how beautiful this cave is.

Amazing & fascinating caving experience, especially for cave enthusiasts or casual visitors. Definitely, worth to explore such a huge limestone cave with stunning underground river & underground waterfalls.

Truly, a big shock to me , the moment I entered. A gigantic dome makes us, with one stunning blow & speechless. I’d been told by the authority, this formation took 250 million years ago.

Four types of exciting & adventure tours available that you can choose from. Facilities inclusive of toilets, changing rooms, surau, & shop for refreshments.

Let the journey begin! Indiana Jones here we come.

Highly recommend for underground river tour adventures.

We did the dry tour 2 and completed it in less than two hours, including photo taking. Some stairs can be steep but overall it is safe and the caves are well lit. We bought the tickets on the spot.

Excellent experience awesome cave it's so big they have dry tour and wet tour and belive me you do get wet and on boats with small tunnel to crawl through so if don't like small enclosure don't go just go on dry tour as its a walk through cave of 650m then walk back again plus many steps very steep

Had opted for Level 4 caving experience which covers the river as well as the deeper extents of the cave without any of the stairwell. Boy was it an experience! Caving up in the dark with only headlamps and no sense of depth was freaky and a little scary. There were many spiders and crickets sharing the path (all harmless and completely uninterested in the humans invading their space) and a colony of bats with their poop littering an entire area at one point. The cave had many spaces where it was slightly tricky to scale but if you're a person with an average level of fitness and a will to do do it, you can. You will sweat, inhale a lot of dust and have to crawl through tight spaces so do read up before choosing level 3 or 4. Level 1-2 can be done by anyone as long as they can walk up and down several steps.
Level 3 of the caving experience was all about the stalactites and marble formation from limestone. There were gorgeous structures and a lot of walking down the river stream in the cave. I managed to spot a lobster too!
I had an unforgettable experience this time round (I had come here once and only done up to level 1 end then) and I am glad that I did it.

Best place for caving. Multiple level of difficulties suitable for all age group. We took the level 4, which was the full package. Went through series of stairs and followed by caving, with multiple exciting challenges. Best part was the rivers flowing through the cave! Everyone should experience this wonderful place

It is a must visit place when you come to Perak! We took the dry tour 2. Mentioned on the info card it took 40 minutes to complete the tour but actually we done it in 2 hours, maybe because we were mesmerized by the beauty of the cave. The cave trail was crowded during the weekend/public holiday. Better to come as early as 9am to capture the good moment peacefully.

Absolutely one of a kind experience.

We did tour 4. You cannot reserve but need to be there when it starts once per day. We started at 9.45am and returned at 4pm.

Wear some sporty clothes that can get wet and dirty. They should cover your knees as you will be crawling on stone. You will slide on rock, so the pants have to be a bit sturdy. A helmet is included in the price, you can rent a headlight and shoes for 5RM each. Looking back I would have rented their shoes instead of wearing my sneakers as they will get super sandy and soaked. Also good to bring water and maybe some snacks. You can buy a waterproof phone case and wet bags from the little store at the entrance. It’s quite warm in the cave, so no need to bring warm clothes.

We were a group of about 30 people. The tour guide spoke Malay and English. You start out walking along a guard-railed path. After about half an hour you go into the dark area off path. You climb, crawl and wade through water. Half way through the tour you exit the cave in a wonderful jungl-y area to take a 30 min break. Afterwards you return mostly in water for about an hour. Afterwards there is the possibility to shower and change.

Overall absolutely one of a kind experience. Can very much recommend although you need a bit of endurance for the full tour. Definitely a memory you need to make!

This natural cave is huge. It's almost overwhelming the sheer size of the place
Inside there is a track for you to walk through while exploring Gua Tempurung. Plenty of have rails as well

It's very cleverly made with the track snaking in and out, up and down while offering amazing views. Keep your eyes on the roof, you might be lucky enough to see some bats as well

Highly recommend. It's a good 120m high over about 600m. Make sure to bring water

I really liked this place tho I had a very bad and upset stomach halfway thru the visit, which affected a lot of the time that I could have used to enjoy the sights. We did tour 2 but couldn't get to checkpoint 5 as I was dying by then. Not many tourists during weekdays and the cave was blessedly empty and beautiful. Really liked it.

A must if you enjoy anything natural. Such a huge cave which takes about an hour to reach the end and back. There is a path with steps the full length to make it easier to walk.

The Best Way to Vacation and Recharge: Embark on the Wet Routes Package 3-4 Adventure

If you're seeking the ultimate vacation and recreational experience, look no further than the Wet Routes Package 3-4. It's an adventure that promises exceptional value for your time and money. Spanning approximately 4 hours, this journey is ideal for those who prefer a leisurely pace, allowing ample time to soak in the surroundings and indulge in exploration.

The pace may be slower than expected, mainly due to the presence of elderly participants who prefer a steady progression. Yet, this leisurely pace offers its own charm, enabling deeper engagement with the environment and plenty of opportunities for questions and discussions along the way.

Despite the occasional need for crawling and navigating through narrow passages, with slides measuring 7-9 meters, the climax of the journey makes it all worthwhile. The moment you enter the river cave, a realm untouched for millions of years, you're transported to a world teeming with natural wonders and ancient secrets. It's an educational experience like no other, offering insights into the earth's history spanning over 250 million years.

However, it's disheartening to witness instances of littering and vandalism within the cave. Some visitors seem to lack a sense of civic responsibility, defacing the cave walls with graffiti and leaving behind trash. Despite efforts by production teams to capture the cave's beauty through filming, their disregard for environmental preservation tarnishes the experience for others.

Nevertheless, credit must be given to the dedicated ranger guides who lead these expeditions. Their knowledge, enthusiasm, and commitment to ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for all participants are commendable. They go above and beyond to instill a sense of respect and appreciation for the natural world, making each journey both enlightening and fun.

In conclusion, embarking on the Wet Routes Package 3-4 adventure is an experience like no other. While there may be challenges along the way, the rewards far outweigh them. From the breathtaking beauty of the cave formations to the invaluable insights into our planet's history, every moment spent on this journey is enriching. However, it's essential for visitors to uphold principles of environmental conservation and respect for nature, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy these wonders. With responsible tourism practices and the guidance of dedicated ranger guides, every excursion becomes an opportunity to reconnect with the natural world and rejuvenate the soul.

Beautiful n exciting even on my 3rd time here.
Best to do the Stage 3 caving which takes about 2 hours. One way in n different way out.
Stage 1 & 2 is just climbing stairs n return by the same way.

Gua Tempurung is a true natural wonder in Perak! I recently explored the cave, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The cave is vast and filled with stunning limestone formations that make you feel like you're in a magical underground world. The guided tour was informative and safe. It's a fantastic adventure for anyone who enjoys nature and a bit of thrill. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some climbing and crawling. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Perak!

If you want to go for level 3,then make sure you bring torchlight and prepare to get wet!

Out of all the places I visited during my Ipoh trip, Gua Tempurung stands out as a must-visit, deserving a solid 5 🌟. While many popular spots in Ipoh can feel overrated, this isn't the case with Gua Tempurung.

Our group, consisting of three individuals, opted for the Level 3 Adventure and was guided by a certified expert. The experience was truly memorable. Just a heads-up for potential visitors: Levels 1 and 2 don't require a guide, but Levels 3 and 4 do. Additionally, there's a minimum group size for certain adventures. If you're below that number, consider finding an outside certified guide to accompany you.

This adventure is genuinely worth every minute, effort, and penny spent.

Went to the level 3 trip with my children both age 8 and 10. The experience is awesome. Good 2 hours journey. Long Pant is really a must as you need to crawl along the river. Also, if you bring smartphone, remember to use waterproof casing.

Spectacular, must-visit caves; plan how to return to Ipoh

As all the other reviews, this is an amazing place you have to visit unless you can't enter a cave for any reason. I found it absolutely unlike anywhere else. Please check other reviews for more info. We especially enjoyed the wind tunnel.

Make sure you plan how to get back if you take a Grab to go there: this is the main thing to add. You can ask at the ticket counter, but better to have a plan in advance.

Worth a visit to appreciate the wonders of nature! Heard that it’s the biggest cave on the Peninsula. We only did the tour 2, which included lots of steps with a few stopping-to-rest areas. Prices are reasonable but slightly higher price for foreigners.

[ ENTRANCE FEES AS OF 13 NOV 2023 ]

There are 4 different routes, 2 dry and 2 wet. The dry ones are unguided whereas the wet ones are guided. Kindly refer to my photos for the ticket prices (which are cheaper for Malaysians so bring your IC if you are one just in case) ☺

We took Tour 2 which was relatively easy and quick - you can definitely wrap it up in less than one hour. My favourite was the wind tunnel; we just stood there in the cave tunnel for 15-20 minutes enjoying the natural wind.

Right outside the cave there is a river where I soaked my legs in and children played in.

If you’re interested in one of the wet tours, you need to:

1. Reach between 9am - 10.30am
2. Prepare these items: Helmet, Head Lamp, Sports/Rubber Shoes, Sports Attire

Not sure about the other items, but I’m pretty sure the helmets are available for rental because I saw a bunch of them hanging on a rack near the entrance.

Facilities-wise, the area is well-developed and maintained. They have both toilets and bathrooms which are clean and huge, around the size of the RNR ones!

Only downside was that I bought a waffle at one of the food stalls for RM5 - pretty expensive imo
