Gunung Baling, Kedah

One of the best hike. Trail is challenging. Require to climb for some point. The summit is very hot on sunny day but cold if there's wind. You can rest under the shades of bamboo trees at the summit.

Came back after a few years. Recently, there have been some changes related to rules and the trail.
Now, there's a guard post and a counter at the entrance. Formally, the gate will be open after 7 in the morning and RM10 were charged to those who want to hike. For earlier entrances, a team consisting of 30 people or more is needed.
The trail was challenging even if you had been to another mountain. It's not typical jungle trekking. More than 50% of the trail was rocky. Please be prepared. Gloves should be necessary to minimise injuries. The earth here is purely red dirt. Please wear clothes that you don't mind smearing. Bring enough water and some snacks too unless you are an express, hard core, speedy hiker.
Up at the peak, in good weather, the views were awesome but prepare to get stung by the heat. Stay safe. Do not underestimate nature. Some spots through the trail, specifically at the high rocky place, you need a helping hand. So, hiking alone was not really recommended.

Photos says it all. Middle part quite challenging to hike. Takes 2 hours for beginners, 1 hour if you are frequent hiker. Wear gloves because require to do some climbing on sharp rocks at the peak. Pay entrance fee RM5 and report at the entrance to park ranger. End of hike report back and get awarded with certificate.

Apperantly you need a guide, but we managed to get away with it and walk past the ticket office without anyone stopping us, the hike is self explanatory and clearly marked out. Apart from some scrambling sections, but even then you can see where to go.

Leg burning hike that takes about 2hr20 from top to bottom. , if you're going at a good pace. Pretty much a scramble all the way up to the peak of the mountain.

It's quite challenging in places and I would definitely watch your footing on the way up and way down as there's some good ankle breakers along the way.

Stunning 360 veiw ontop of the peak, well worth the sweat and pain.

Relatively easy track for awesome view for sunrise/sunset. If you are a fast pacer, it will take 1hr to reach to peak, beginner/slow pacer, 2.5hrs.
Recommend to stretch your body before the hike as there is many area which is quite steep.

Quite an easy hike as there are good facilities here such as rope and railing to hold onto during climbing. It took about 1+ hour to reach the top depending on individuals. The view from up top is spectacular, as you can see surrounding Baling area and also the neighbouring Gunung Pulai. You need to register before climbing in the front office and pay entrance fee. After you finished climbing you will be given a certificate for your effort, neat! For inexperienced hiker, it is suggested to contact local guide for a more smooth hiking experince. Definitely a must try for mountain lovers and hikers alike.

So enjoyed my hike there in this beautiful mountain, recommend to build little stamina to prepare our body for this one, it takes about 2 hours up and 2 hours down. You will need to register yourself for this hike and will need someone who have hiked this mountain before as leader to lead you up if you were first time Baling mountain hiker. You will get a certificate at the end of the hike. Enjoy the beautiful scenes at the top, totally amazed

My 2nd hiking trip with my crazy hiker buddies. Hike was challenging as it rained the night before. But all was fod when we reached the peak....it was quite sunny though. The view was magnificent. Our guides Pak Teh and Firdaus were awesome people and were good photographers too.
Next time will try the early hike to experience the sunrise

It was harder than I thought, and the whole climb was steep at the beginning. There are many rocks in the first half of the journey, and the second half of the journey is all stone-level, it will be very difficult, but you have to be careful every step of the way. There are uneven rocks everywhere until the top of the attack, and it is difficult to move an inch, but you must be careful with every step. The view from the top of the mountain is beyond words, very beautiful. The most important thing is to prepare enough water.

The best hiking spot with cool n refreshing mountain breeze. Superb view. Awsome experience.

Rather challenging for beginners, mostly climbing on all 4s 😅 but definitely worth it! Highly recommended

This is good for one day trip for hiking. Before climbing, you need to register & pay the fee at the office located beneath the mountain.

As for myself, this track is not easy, with several steep mountain rocks to climb and slippery steep terrain to pass.

With total distance of 4km back and forth to the peak, Gunung Baling is highly recommended for a healthy family outdoor activity.

the first hiking trail we managed to conquer. 1hr57mnt was spent to reach the peak. very challenging trails for noobies like us. nonetheless hiking fun is purely on the track itself (for us anyway). last 10 percent is the most daring for us. climbed up the very steep surface. thank Allah we survived to hike another trail..juz be careful while u thread n enjoy the scenes. as usual hiking trails in malaysia is littered with rubbish. juz the way we are or maybe nexgen hikers can change the scenario?

2hrs&half hike depends on your speed. Trail is quite steep especially when you arrive at the rocky point.

The view from top is mesmerising, even from downhill also it looks beautiful. One of main attraction for Baling district.
