In the early stages, Maahad Tahfiz Wal Qiraat was established in Pulai Condong with the intention of its students to continue their studies in Syubra Egypt in the field of memorization and al-Qiraat or in the field of religion. But something unexpected has happened where many of the SPM graduates in this school are interested in continuing their studies in the academic field.

From here, the idea arose to establish Maahad Tahfiz Sains in view of the demand and ability of students in mastering academic knowledge in addition to religious knowledge and memorization of the Quran. With the view of Tok Guru Nik Aziz who can see far ahead he suggested that a school be established that can meet the demands and abilities of students.

Work began to formulate the plan to establish Maahad Tahfiz Sains and proposed under the name Maahad Sains Tahfiz. But this proposal was changed with the name Maahad Tahfiz Sains.
