Guillemard Bridge

A really cool place. The Guillemard Bridge was built between 1920-1924 and is the second oldest bridge in Malaysia. It's a single track railway truss bridge, beautiful and elegant. It's still being used by our Keretapi Tanah Melayu. Managed to catch the ETS coming through, on it's way to the south.

Nice place to visit. The 600m single track railway truss bridge. It is second of the oldest railway bridges in the country after Victoria Bridge in Perak. The bridge was constructed between May 1920 and July 1924 by The Metro Carriage Wagon & Finance Co of Wednesbury, England as a crossing over the Kelantan River. The bridge was officially opened on 1925 by Almarhum Sultan Muhammad IV of Kelantan and named after the British Governor for the Straits Settlements, Sir Laurence Guillemard.

Guillemard Bridge is the second oldest railway bridges after Victoria Bridge. The bridge are 600m and believed to be longest railway bridge. This bridge located at Tanah Merah, Kelantan. You can experience jungle sleeper train and this train will pass by this bridge.

kuala kangsar has victoria bridge, tanah merah has Guillemard Bridge. reached around 10am in the morning, was told by two ladies the train was coming at 2pm. we were happy to take photos before the rail got busy.
