A historical ruin that has been restored back to its original glory (sort of). It’s about a 20 mins taxi ride here from Ipoh town, a lot to see and do here.

You can visit wine cellars, hidden tunnels, bedroom and also walk the supposed “hunted corridor” here.

A nice excursion place for the entire family.

William Kellie-Smith is the builder behind Kellie's castle.
The was born in 1870 in Scotland. And work as a civil engineer in Malaya.
Working in Charles Alma Baker's survey firm.

He started planting rubber trees and mining Tins. And he own the Kinta Kellas Tin Dredging Company.
He married to Agnes and had a daughter Helen and son Anthony.

The mansion is separated into 2 section.
The yellow coloured wall is the original house before the castle.
While the red brick building is the castle. Which was planned for his children.
It was planned with the first lift in Malaya. The incomplete lift shaft is visible on left side of the castle.
And a Hindu temple nearby, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. There are tales of the tunnel from the castle to the temple. It was built after the Spanish Flu took many of the worker's life.
The castle is famous for many hidden tunnel.

Ghost story and tales of the castle.
There is a popular tale of ghost figure looking out the first windows of the mansion. This figure is said to be the spirit of William Kellie. Returning to the castle and wish to see it completed.
There are also tale of a ghost figure in white blouse roaming in the house.

A great experience for a castle enthusiast. Majestic architecture. A very informative signboard along the pavement and inside the castle. Kellas house also given a spooky sense sometimes. RM5 per entry is a good price because it is pricey to keep this castle in a super good condition. Recommended for all age except those preggy mommy.

Old castle that rumored to have ghost. Nice place to visit. No worries, no ghost... But on the top roof part, must becareful because it has very little safety rail. Parents with kids make sure they dont run around at roof top... Can fall down from 4th floor... I post the roof top so you can understand what i meant... Thats me sitting at roof side... The rest of the castle, visit yourself and enjoy the view...

The castle's view is breathtaking; it feels like I'm on a foreign lane despite being in Perak. Recommended to go during Sunny day, cus your photos will turn out so good.

Just come early if you want to enjoy the scenery cus the stairs were narrow, so you need to take turn when it's crowded. Souvenir-wise, I think not so much option. This place has a small restaurant for u to buy drink and food. but again, not sure on what's the option of the food that's available.

Just found it strange that the parking and ticket counters were in the same location. If the management decides to combine the two counters into one, they should each have their own space and be located on the driver's side (right side) of the entry, for easier payment process by the visitors.

If you are into architecture and history, this is the place to visit. Nice and scenic view 😍

The entrance fee was not so bad but do bring water and the drinks here are expensive.

Tickets are cheap, prefer to go there early in the morning and they're open at 9.30am due to the hot sun. A lot of places to take nice photos

A nice place to visit. Vintage vibes. But it’s too hot outside, use sunscreen beforehand & bring a small fan to deal w the heat. Lots of narrow stairs, so better use comfortable shoes to go there.

The write up about the place, history and people were educational for those who liked to know what happened to this place in the past. Was told of possible sightings by friends. Felt something at the end of level 2 walkway near to the far end leading to the master bedroom.

Beautiful and interesting place to visit. There is historical information displayed at several spots for people who are interested. Come before 12 (weekend) as it gets crowded after that.

As a Malaysian I’ve always known this place existed but was never really interested to go visit, but I’m glad I did.

It is quite interesting as they put up signs to explain the fascinating backstory of the original owner, the architecture, and the purpose and detail of each room. It is very pretty too. Not a big place but you’ll spend about 1-1.5 hours here if you go through everything. Recommended

Awesome place to explore if you're in the area and learn about history of the castle and the person who build it. Many great photo ops and you can climb to the top of the castle and enjoy the great view of the surrounding area.

Came here many years ago, it wasn't as nicely built up as now. Right now it has been nicely built up and maintained with some entrance fee required.

Good for pictures and worth a visit.

This location is a bit far but worth it because it's really beautiful and historic. Better to go on weekdays not during public holidays or school holidays if you want peace and quiet to take pictures without the distraction of visitors. Clean environment including public toilets. Only parking is quite limited.
