The Hideout Gopeng

Our first time here at this cosy campsite and hopefully not our last time. Very green with lots of shade making the place really cool. Kids loved the tarpaulin slide into the river and also playing in the shallow site. Truly calming to hear the rushing river and enjoy the scene. We also did waterfall abseiling and it was an amazing experience! We had a great family time here.

We did White Water Rafting & Bum Bum Tubing with The Hideout, it was a good experience and the instructor is very professional + experience. I got thrown out during White Water Rafting but when I'm realized I'm out of the boat I'm already got saved, thanks Bulu for saving me 😂 Cindy is very friendly and she shared a lot of her experiences with us, we can see the owner is a true nature lover and outdoor activities enjoyer. Would like to engage with them again for the next trip - Gua Tempurung Caving !

The place very well maintained, had a comfortable camping experience. It feels like a homestay style camping site, there a nicely decorated reception and they also sell home made ice-cream, I tried the coffee ice cream, it was nice. There were few toilets available for shower and it's clean. I chose this campsite for it's clean clear river, and it's really clean and nice for a dip. The camp site at river front is definitely 5 star spot, waking up enjoying sunrise in front, listening to river flows, while making coffee and breakfast. They have a common hall, with plug points , fan, tables, chairs, bbq pit, basins, etc.

I love this campsite❤ very peaceful and so privacy, the owner so friendly, will come again🫶🏻

Top notch site strategically located along Sg Kampar and very well maintained facilities. Our family have found a new No. 1 place for camping to date and will definitely look to repeat the Hideout adventure!

Hits:
1) Very hospitable and friendly camp owners Cindy and Mr G!
2) Clean toilet and well thought of convenience. Shower pressure was good too!
3) Big shelter at common area for all campers to hang around with tables and benches
4) Clean campsite with proper garbage disposal. There's even segregation for food waste, black bins and recycling bottles and cans!
5) Ample space for even dish wash with 4 sinks
6) Cindy's ice-cream is soooo good! We tapau home to KL and survived the trip!
7) Location wise is by the river! Double win!
8) Outdoor excursion activities which we took. We took white water rafting and we had so much fun! Most importantly we felt and assured we were in good hands cos Mr G does this full time prior to running the campsite. So during safety briefing, we already felt at ease.
9) A lot of trees! So you'll find shade.

Downside
1) Maxis Signal isn't very strong. But it's camping! We've got each others companionship.
2) Depending on your spots, if you're super close to the common area shelter, it could be a little bit noisy in morning if you're planning to sleep in late.

We are already booking for our Dec trip back to Hideout! That says a lot! ❤

Very well maintained campsite. Has 4 main lots, A and B is directly in front of the river. C and D is just across the small road but area is larger and on grassy ground. Has a common area for dishwashing, sitting and charging your devices. Toilet & shower stalls are clean.

The place is away from the crowd and near the river. Toilets and common areas are very clean. The premise and equipments are well organised and maintained.

We did water rafting (group of 4 people in one raft). Ozzie and Mat accompanied us throughout. Their energy and vibe are on point. Mat takes some pretty decent pictures.

Thank you Mr G and fam for having us. Enjoyed the chit chats and lunch! Will be back for camping real soon.

White Water rafting is a must here. Cave exploration of 400 Millions Years Gua Tempurung is fun and kiddos friendly activities.

Clean toilet + shower, complete facilities with eletricity plug points, strong runnning water for rinsing, drinking/cooking water provided, hammock shelter, dining halls, guarded parking grounds and spacious campground and best of all, lovely and friendly owner and staffs! We really feel welcomed here to relax and take a dip in the cooling riverside. Tent, hammock rentals provided as well with various Gopeng outdoor activities.

Just bring over your foods, change cloth and enjoy, thats all!

It's such a lovely place to be in. Highly recommended it here.

Rafting activity is well organised and those equipment are in a good condition.

You gotta try their home made ice cream!

Campsite is properly build without disturbing the nature feelings. Place is very clean and spacious. Def will come again. Owner is very friendly and easy to communicate.

The group was so happy with the hospitality, the place is nice, clean and neat. Toilet was clean, the area was shaded....less mosquito ahhaah..

Everything was so smooth and perfectly arranged for us! The lunch was too good and we never expected it honestly. It was a very enjoyable experience for all of us. There's so much passion in your work and all of you are super friendly

We've stayed in The Hideout for 2 nights back in July. Had a great time hanging with the family, talking stories while cooking, laughing while doing the barbecue. It rained on these two nights and it made it all the cozier sleeping in hammocks. To be woken up by the gentle sound of the river flowing and birds chirping is a treat. Being out in nature and being in its calming presence is always a welcome reprieve especially during these trying times.
I love being in the water but I must say I'm equally scared of it. I have a great deal of respect for how it can be very unpredictable in its powerful force. Never in my wildest imagination have I thought that I will try white water rafting. Everyone in the group with exception of the little ones is stoked to go, even my 70-year-old mother-in-law! So it's kinda embarrassing to opt out 😅 The Hideout crew is big on safety. You can put your worries aside because they make you feel that you are in good hands. When I say in good hands, I really meant this. Because clumsy and uncoordinated me fell off the boat and lived to tell the tale hahaha! Thanks, Capt. Jack Sparrow! We. Had. A. Blast! We spent a few nights here, facilities are superb and covers all our needs, safe and cozy space.

My mom who is 70 years old did white water rafting and that's mainly because the safety features are so good. These folks running this business, keep safety first and keep updating themselves to all the current, ever changing needs of the people.

The Hideout Gopeng, is not a place you come, once in your life time, nope not that. It's a place you must visit, many many times in your life time.

Have a great weekend in the hideout. They have power points, have 4 toilets each for male and female, a big dinning area and they provide drinking water as well..they also quite enviromental friendly..they also provide a recycle bin for aluminum can and plastic bottles.

Site is clean, with lots of green maintained around the area, which lends privacy.
The toilets are clean. There is always drinking water at few areas around the campsite.
Water activities such as white water rafting, tubing and waterfall absailing is available. Caving is also a choice.
A plus point is the home made ice cream available for sale, prepared by the site owners themselves.

I've been to many camps in my life but this camp site exceeds my expectations.
Camp ground are clean and trash free.
Plenty of spaces. The toilets are well taken care off and clean. All seaters. Water taken from nearby stream cold 🥶. RM30 per pax for adult. Pondok provided, can use for prayers and hammock. Kitchen with varendah for cooking and BBQ. Stream also nearby and you can enjoy watersport.. very calm and serene environment. You can bring your own tent or rent. Campfire spots all available.
The owner is an experienced outdoors sports coach and instructor. Although i stayed there only for one night! Had a great night.
Will come again for sure.
