Very festive and fun place to watch sunset. There are also plenty of food kiosks for you to get food and drinks from. However!! It’s super touristy with lots of tourists all standing at the shore ~

Nice for healing and sunset view also the beach so cozy a little distraction with the festival over there, but the view so nice and breathtaking should go if going to Kota Kinabalu

A must-visit place in KK. The sunset view was absolutely stunning! It's quite crowded with many cars and people. Not easy to find a parking, so plan ahead to occupy a nice place to enjoy the sea view.

The entire beach turns into a golden color during sunset time.

There is a night market by the beach which had a great variety of Malaysian local food.

You can see good sunset over this beach. Starting is slowly moving down. Then when touching the water. It sink very fast into the sea. It looks better after the sun have sink into the sea.
You can go there before 5pm and have dinner. There are many food tents cater for dinner. By the time you have eaten your dinner is just nice to watch the sunset.
No problem going back to town. You can always ask the traffic control security guard to help you.

Excellent place to see sunset in KK. Don't arrive early as can be rather hot, 6 pm be best. Tips, park at the parking area #2 as less crowded there. Very clean and fine sand beach.

Beautiful sunset as always. Never fail except on raining days. Be early as might be jam especially during weekend.

Could go further (direction to shangrila tanjung aru) to look for Zing Sunset Bar, get a seat & a drinks to enjoy the view. And yeay they served good food as well providing indoor / outdoor settings

We came here specifically for the sunset, and the view was absolutely stunning! Today, they are hosting a beach festival, so it's quite crowded with many cars.

Crowded but you’ll still be able to take photos with no one in the background. Very nice place to see the sunset, with a pasar malam right by for you to get some street food and shopping done.

We came on a weekend and parking was alright, you’d be able to get parking near the beach. However I heard there are days where the jam was so bad that getting to the beach would take really long.

Catching the Dazzling Sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach.

As the sun dipped towards the horizon on Tanjung Aru Beach, its rays set the sky ablaze in stunning hues of orange, pink and purple. Locals and tourists alike paused their evening strolls to marvel at the natural spectacle unfolding above the swaying palms and sparkling South China Sea.

Tanjung Aru Beach, located just southwest of Kota Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo, is renowned as one of the world's most spectacular spots to watch the sunset. Its calm blue waters, and unobstructed western views create the perfect stage. As the sun descends, it casts a dazzling glow over the beach.

We arrived early to secure a prime sunset-viewing spot, enjoying coconut water as the sky transformed minute by minute. Right on cue, the glowing orange sun melted into the sea, illuminating cotton candy clouds and silhouetting palm trees against a pastel backdrop.

The magic lasted well beyond the final sliver of sun dipping below the horizon, as deep pinks and purples lingered in the sky for over an hour. Slowly, the pulsating colors faded to black, leaving us awe-struck after witnessing one of nature's most remarkable displays.

Hands down the best sunset in the world. I am very grateful and proud to be a Sabahan born because the beauty of Tanjung Aru is mesmerizing. Come visit the beach where it is free and filled with parking. They also have food stalls with various delicious foods to devour. Feel free to bring your family amd friends here. It is 8 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu International Airport KKIA, and 6 minutes away from the city Imagi Shopping Mall.

Great place to wind down and enjoy sunset on a clear sky day. Beware that there is a massive jam on the road leading to the beach. Took us 1.5 hrs for a distance of 2km. So head there early if you do not want to miss sunset

Paid a small fee to be seated in front of the beach area to watch the sunset. Definitely worth it 👍🏻
This a great break from busy daily work.
Feeling every second while watching sunset is also an expensive experience to have for everyone.

There are lots of stalls nearby for foods, drinks, souvenirs etc.
Public toilets are available as well.

Perfect spot to watch the sun going down. Truly yiu can see unique sunset here only problem is there's too many people going in this area.

Plenty of people came here. Especially tourists from all over the word. This place attracted Korean tourist. Everyday there's Korean tourist here to see the lovely sun set. If you want to see it, come here to Tanjung Aru Beach, Sabah Malaysia. There's also lots of eatery spot here.

Amazing place to catch the sunset! Just don't mind the kids running around and having fun with the sand and with their friends playing. Also, there's music playing in the background. And the fooooood!!!!! My goodness...

It was a unforgettable moment. A word ‘Beautiful’ was insufficient. Too many people but lack of parking lots. Before 30 mins from sunset I arrived at public parking lot. There was full. But I tried to park again and again. Over 20 mins I drove round and round. Therefore I succeeded to park my car ;)

Never seen such a beautiful sunset in my life. Worth every effort to crawl thru the jams of vehicles and humans.

Great place to spot sunset while having foods and coconuts. Went there after doing island hoping. Love to see many local families come and play with kids.

Chill site for sunset and relaxing.
Variety of foods and can rent table as well. Parking RM2 and easy. Crowded for late evening. Suitable for family too.
