Spent a night here before heading to their parent company Batu-Batu. Had a lovely stay here. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by 2 lovely ladies. We were shown our room promptly and which toilet was allocated to us. I also appreciate the fact that they informed us a few days prior to arrival if we were comfortable with having a room next to a family with kids. This kind of thoughts are small but meaningful and we truly appreciate it. Toilets are about 10 steps away as its not joined to any of the rooms. Kakak Tua is one of the best chic boutique guesthouse stayed and their hospitality is top notch.

I pretty much enjoy the atmosphere over there.

I can just sit there and do nothing just chilling whole afternoon,simply the best.

if anything need to bring out, I will say if there is more option on food,it would be perfect.

Had a lovely coffee and cake here while when we wandered in to town while waiting for the ferry. It is a community run cafe and the decor is very cool.

Spent a night here before our batu-batu trip. It was nice that the staff called us beforehand to help with the check in. The room floor was a bit dusty (probs bcos of low peak season). The toilets are separate and outside the room. The place is located strategically opposite to Watsons, short distance from ferry terminal. There was a pet cat calling for attention at night but only for a while.

2 stars only for the cleanliness, for 320 ringgit per night, no shower in the room, very noisy and in the morning and we are evening for our room we had to use very narrow stairs… not convenient when you carry a baby and this was to access the family room… not good!!!

Drinks Sangat tak sedap. Please improve your coffee and other drinks. I order latte and their tea.

I really wanted to like this place. I made a booking and they contacted me several times to ask when I'd arrive. And when I did arrive, I was dismayed to find that the coffee area and common sitting area was under renovation so there was no community mingling nor a place to hang out. Worst still, the renovation would start early in the morning the next day and it would be noisy.

Despite telling them when I'd arrive, no one was there to check me in nor give me the key. I had to return later. And despite asking several times via email, phone and in person for help to arrange transport, no help was forthcoming. In the end, I had to help myself. Same for the late check out request that I kept having to follow up on.

The room was clean and neat and didn't smell. The toilet was assigned but not en suite. I was the only guest there those 2 days.

I would not stay here again unless I cannot help it. The location is right in town but, for me, my experience on Aug 5 to 6 leads me to this review. I had to follow up on so many things myself, I might as well have worked there myself.

Espresso machine was broken and the cafe latte (charged same price) was really bad…
