Pulau Aur

Was searching for a less-crowded island getaway and came across Pulau Aur! 🏝 It’s a hidden gem with extensive coral reefs + abundant marine life, white sandy beaches, stunning hiking views etc. We came in early Sept - weather was alright with a mix of cloudiness and sunshine. ☁🌞

We love our guides (Wan & Awi), from Bluewater Holiday Resort who showed us around the island - both on land and in water! We climbed Batu Cina, which was relatively challenging, and Bukit Batu that’s on the Dayang Island. Although some of the facilities are a bit rundown, both hikes offer rewarding views! We also got to snorkel at both islands and P. Lang. 🤿 There are giant clams, and we were so lucky that we got to see a juvenile green turtle, thanks to Wan pointing it out!🥹

Some of the other highlights of the island:
⭐no internet access (except for Maxis) = a digital detox 🧘🏻‍♀
⭐ stargazing
⭐ the resort is facing the west so you get to watch sunset from there
⭐ blue tears (you have to look for them actively along the shore)
⭐ island durian (we happened to come during the durian season)
⭐interesting rock formations

Note: The best time to visit is April to June for the finest weather.
