My mum got her knee operation done by Dr Joe Chooi. She had been delaying this surgery because she was scared of getting operated. But after meeting Dr Joe, she felt so comfortable that she instantly got ready to do the knee replacement with him. Dr Joe was very kind, empathetic and encouraging. He explained to her each and every procedure in detail both before and after the surgery. We truly felt that choosing Dr Joe Chooi as the surgeon for doing the knee replacement surgery was the best decision we have ever made. Such an excellent doctor and such a positive experience! We can’t thank Dr Joe enough for the special excellent care he had provided. Will be always grateful.

Friendliest & helpful doctor 😊 I’ve had scoliosis surgery before (other hospital) and I often get back pains after (which i’m aware is common). However, I usually don’t bother going to see doctors about my back pain anymore because before this, almost every doctors (from different hospitals) would immediately require me to get an X-ray and provide painkillers only. It doesn’t help most times & I never really got a clear idea of what issues was I facing in my previous visits with other doctors.

In this case, it took me bearing 3 weeks of lower back pain only then I decided to go see Dr. Joe (which I found through Google). He examined my situation, answered all my doubts, and advised on what can improve my back muscles. I’ve been taking the meds for 1 day only but so far my lower back feels so much better now.

I would go back & recommend others to see Dr Joe as well. Thanks!

My encounter with Dr Joe has been a rather pleasant one. I had an urgent issue develop while on a long haul flight back to Malaysia and went to the A&E directly from the airport. Dr Joe was the only orthopaedic specialist available in the hospital at that time and quickly came to see me at the A&E. He was pleasant, jovial and more importantly clear about the options and the management plan. He proceeded with the necessary procedure quickly & efficiently, and did a good job overall. The follow up session a week later was also very smooth with clear & helpful advice on the do's & don'ts. I don't often give 5 stars but Dr Joe certainly deserves it!

I highly recommended Dr Joe Chooi as he is professional and patience. I had a fractured finger and required surgery. He explained the procedure clearly and let me know the pros and cons before hand. The surgery was a success and he personally changed my dressing every 2 days. Furthermore, he also paid attention to my recovery and make sure my finger regains its function. I've been treated by Dr Joe when my left shoulder was fractured. The treatment I've received was very good from the moment I went to the emergency room until all my follow-up appointments were done. Dr Joe told me all the alternatives for my treatement and even called my parents to explain because I went to the emergency alone. Dr. Chooi is a consummate professional with excellent bedside manners. He would take time to explain everything in layman terms to patients and family members alike. I was admitted 2 weeks ago into the ER of Hosp Sg Long for a very bad back. So bad that I could not stand straight. The staff at the ER was very helpful and I was referred to the Orthopedic & Trauma Surgeon - DR CHOOI YUO JOE, Dr Joe for short. He came in to see me, eventhough it was after 11pm. I was warded for a facet joint procedure. During those few days, the ward nurses were very friendly and helpful as I was having difficulty moving due to the pain in my back. Dr Joe has a great bedside manner, putting his patients at ease with his jokes and friendly personality. He's sincerity and concern shows as he drops every day in the morning, afternoon and evening to check on his patients and updates them on what to expect during the upcoming procedure. Really refreshing to meet a Dr that doesn't look at his patients as money bags but as real human beings who are in pain and needs his expertise. I'm thankful that Dr Joe was referred to my case and his recommendation for the facet joint procedure has successfully helped me with my problem.
