Must see for architecture and design lovers! It was extremely hard to catch a ticket and I was happy to get a guided tour — it's 150 pesos more expensive but it was worth it! Girls who work here were very polite, nice and not boring at all. Group limit is 6 people so everyone has enough time and space to take pictures and enjoy the house.
By the way photography is paid and it's surprisingly 500 pesos per device!!! Yeah, not taking pictures seems unreasonable so you pay anyway... And considering the ticket price 600 pesos... Well, they still have a very high demand :)
Overall it feels like this experience is not for everyone, all guests have this "art" vibe. So if you're one of those don't miss this spot! And pay this 1000 pesos to take those shots ;)

It's a dream of every architect to visit this wonderful house of Luis Barragán. Our guide was fantastic! He explained each and every detail for us during the tour. The house is well maintained in its original condition. If you want to visit, I recommend getting tickets at least two weeks in advance as they run out pretty quickly. You won't regret your decision if you have an eye for excellent architecture.

Booking tickets ahead of time is a bit of a hassle (they only open up one week at a time) but so worth the effort to experience this tour. There were four people in our group (all Americans) and our guide Pepe graciously switched to giving the tour in English for us. The home is absolutely stunning inside! Photos don’t do it justice—go visit!

By a stroke of luck, I was able to get in without a reservation but reservations usually book well in advance. A quiet, unassuming masterpiece of modern architecture.

Don’t understand the bad reviews that are on here - do note advanced booking is required as stated on the website and new tickets are released on Tuesdays 4PM Mexico time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and even though our group had lots of questions and the tour overran a little, he took the time to explain everything. The insights into Barragan’s life and his style were interesting. If you like architecture, I highly recommend this museum.

A must to visit in Mexico if you like architecture! Such a brutalist minimal house with quirk and colourful details! Book in advance to make sure you get in!

Please note, you MUST book a visit online at least a week in advance to be able to visit the main house on a private tour. The garden however is open to all and definitely worth a visit.

Wow, this house is a dream coming true to visit! The colors are just perfect and the interior itself is also very interesting. The only downside is that you have to pay 500 pesos if you wanna take pictures, which is a lot. But we did, and are happy with them!

Excellent tours limited to 10 visitors. Note that you must book a timed tour in advance on the website, but they offer tours in both Spanish and English which is great.

Keeping the groups to a small size makes it very intimate and special. Since this was a residence, it was never meant for crowds, and so this strategy is appropriate and respectful.

Photography inside is permitted for a small fee.

There is a gift shop with some excellent book selections and an open-to-the-public (no ticket required) garden across the street.

This was one of my favorite experiences in CDMX.

Amazing experience! Our guide was great and answered extra questions. She is interior architect so she has good knowledge of the field. The ticket is pricy but it’s worth it for preserving the building. Keep in mind that they charge extra 500 pesos for taking pictures, that’s for me the only bad thing. The booking system has to be more efficient, right now it’s confusing. You can visit only if you book your spot online.

Difficult to get a reserved ticket, this is a must for architecture and design fans. The experience is intimate and educational. In order to take pictures you must purchase a nominal photo license.

Pricey but still worth the visit. This place is like nothing I have seen before. I highly recommend the other houses he built especially the one in Pedregal and la Capilla de las capuchinas. The architecture is stunning. It definitely challenging to get tickets so plan your visit way in advanced.

What an experience! We took the Spanish tour even though we don’t know Spanish (there were no slots for the English one during our visit). And it was totally worth it! Definitely wouldn’t miss it and will go back if I have the chance.
PLUS
important to know that even if there are no open visits while in Mexico City, his garden is open for free and there is a free architectural and design Museum next door!

An enchanting reprieve from the bustling metropolis

We’ve read some negative reviews about pricing, unavailability of tours, and bad guides. Our experience was the opposite. We showed up without booking and asked if there were any places left and got lucky. Though the tour at that time was supposed to be in Spanish, the guide (Stefan) switched to English to accommodate the group. He was very knowledgeable and made the relatively hefty price worth it. He really took the time to answer all our questions and his passion for the Barragan’s work was infectious. Perhaps not a must on your first visit to Mexico City, but certainly one of the most unique places this city has to offer.

The tour was incredible and very informative. I didn’t know much about the architect before going but I have a new found appreciation for his style and choices now. You have to book the tour well in advance online (at least a month or two) and they go fast! The English tours are only a few times a day so pay attention to which ones you are booking. There are no cameras or phones allowed on the tour. But you can take pictures of his garden across the street and that’s free to enter whenever, no reservation needed.

P.S I highly recommend checking out the Archive gallery and cafe next door!!! It’s free and open to the public.

We had an amazing tour with a very well educated and charming guide, who was able to answer all questions. The groups are small, so book ahead. The house is very interesting and you get to see almost everything.

The photography fee is quite high, 500 pesos, I would say rather skip it and buy a nice book about Barragan.

We were so lucky to score tickets as we had not planned as well as we should have. What a fabulous immersion in the world of this amazing architect. A must see in Mexico City.

Excellent place to understand Mexican architecture and its legacy to the world. It is a little bit expensive to visit but it's totally worth it.
