This was a fantastic restaurant with great food, service and atmosphere…highly recommended. The Alambre de Arrachera (flank steak mixed with vegetables) was absolutely amazing, it was the best dish of my stay in Oaxaca (see pic). So much flavor! The Grosella drink (beverage with passion fruit syrup, lime and mineral water) was also amazing. Only disappointment was the bananas in mezcal…the pictures showed it lit on fire, but there was no fire. Would have ordered a different dessert if I’d known there was no fire. Overall an awesome dining experience. We were lucky enough to be next to a great live band too.

Looking for ruins and getting lost we found this GEM.
Awesome place and great food.
Friendly service too.
One meat we ordered didn't taste well and we complained, no problema.. they changed it. And we got a free birthday cake on top. Hell Yeah!! :)

This was one of the first places to make mezcal before the mezcal boom. You can see this by all celebs on their wall from years past. Mezcal tasting was great.

The food here is also an amazing value for the money. The portions were so large and delicious. Even for vegetarians we had a nice meal that we couldn’t finish and took home. Glad our guide took us here.

They even had peacocks, goats, horses, and a warthog which got kids excited.

Rancho Zapata is a fantastic restaurant and you can tour the Rancho. The food is authentic, with many selections. The place is beyond charming and the service is world class. I will definitely return here over and over.
