Loads of amazing artwork, include those of Rivera, as well as his contemporaries. It was larger than I expected, spanning through a few floors of the beautiful building. I only wish they allowed you to visit the rooftop. Photos are not allowed, which I obviously didn't know at first!

Great museum in the house where Diego Rivera was born. The museum chronicles Rivera's artistic evolution as time progressed. I really enjoyed seeing Rivera's other artistic interests and works. Some of the styles he experimented with and the works produced are truly captivating. A must see if you are in Guanajuato City and have an interest in art and Mexican history.

Worth the hype! Beautiful, peaceful, unique pieces I had never seen before. Nice meandering and direction to it all.

What a fascinating art & history museum we stumbled upon! Although Diego seems to some of us as a dark shadow of his iconic wife, there are hundreds of rather insightful stories and objects crammed in in this well curated museum which portray depths of his intellect and his art approach. Got to be your no. 1 place on your list this town if a bit of arts and loads of culture interests you.

This is the house were Diego was born.
Enter fee was 45 pesos. Really cheap and well worth it.

The house has 3 floors full of furniture and his paintings. On the top floor theres a theater room with a great view of the city.

Only bad thing is that they dont let you take pictures, only in the theater and in the outdoor areas.

Great place to visit if you like Diego Rivera 👍👍🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽👍👍👍

A must visit when in Guanajuato. The paintings are beautiful and you will always get to see temporary exhibitions. Photos are not allowed for level 1 and level 2 where most paintings are presented.

I enjoyed the collection that the museum has. Being that is was the former house of Diego Rivera, made it the more interesting!! and the period furnishings, it definitely gives you a perspective of how wealthy families lived during that time period. On another note...the entrance fee affordable, including the gift shop. It's a must do on your bucket list; if you're visiting the city of Guanajuato!!

It is a very interesting museum. It was neat to see the place where Diego Rivera was born and how his art changed along with the different stages of his life.

We visited the museum on a Tuesday morning and saw an amazing collection of furniture, as well as an amazing art collection. The art was well laid out and is on three floors with either stairs or an elevator. There’s also a fourth floor with a small gallery with seating to really spend some time and enjoy the art. We spent approximately 90 minutes at the Museum and saw everything. There are bathrooms on the top floor but no canteen or refreshment area.

How did Diego Rivera cement himself as a prominent Mexican figure? How did Rivera’s signature style develop with time? These are the questions this museum seeks to answer by presenting you with works and commentary and leaving you to get in the head of Diego Rivera.

It can be quick if you just want to glance at the artworks which I saw people doing. As a Spanish learner, I spent about 1.5 hrs here reading the descriptions, translating, and learning new Spanish vocabulary. By the time I got to the temporary non-Rivera exhibitions, I was tired and didn’t really look much at them. Still, I had a great time. A great half-day activity. 30 pesos as of August 2023. Very worth it for the experience.

Diego's work and his life will always fascinate me but I also appreciate that this museum hosts other artists. When we were there an artist who works with clay was there;Julio Sahagún Sanchez. He took the time to chat with us which I always appreciate. His life cycle work was fascinating.

If you are visiting Guanajuato city in Mexico, don't miss this opportunity to visit the museum, if you line art, this is an important reference to understand the life but also the style of one of the most important artist in Mexico, amazing.

Been to Guanajuato for many years and finally got to visit this house. I will say you learn a lot about his character and if you listen to the guides they explain his personality. It was a new way to look at Diego Rivera Art got to see painting that didn't know existed. Loved it

Surprisingly great! Really fascinating selection of Diego Rivera sketches and paintings and collections of other artists (photography / paintings). Nicely curated.

A highly informed museum staff member provided some fantastic extra info in a couple of rooms which added greatly to the visit- thank you!
