Mr Lionso

Open air, over looking the water. It is a short walk on the beach from the Riu. We had the lobster and shirt plate, ribeye, octopus and coconut shrimp! That was dinner one night.

The next day we were on a charter and had our fish brought back and made there, also delicious!

If you like chunky guacamole, this is the place! Get the special guacamole!!

Also home of the internationally renowned Aaron Halliday performance Wednesday and Saturday afternoons 2 - 5 from Nov 1 to March 31. 150 peso entry and 2 for 1 drinks! A Mazatlan Entertainment MUST!!!

This restaurant is known for its copious tequila tasting. They make their own tequila. They literally leave the bottles on the table with a stack of tasting cups! Beware though!! The first tequila that arrives!! Three bottles of snake tequila- SNAKES IN THE BOTTLE!! 🤢😵

Oh did I mention it’s all about tequila!? The margaritas are 2 for 1 size of a fish bowl and pack a punch! And both come at the same time.
The food was tasty large portions! We used my fajita left overs for nachos the next day fed 4 of us.
The night we were there 2 musicians were playing even let us do a little karaoke with them.
All said a great place to spend an evening lovely sunset while we were there.

Great tasting food! It is right by the beach so you get a great breakfast with a fantastic view. Everyone was so attentive, & friendly. I highly recommend☺

Great food, great service, great time! They sell some fantastic tequila, and sometimes give free samples! Plenty of fresh air and live music.

We loved our experience at Mr. Lionso's ! The food is fairly priced and delicious! We loved the free tequila tastings and the entertainment. We got to see traditional Mexican warriors all dressed up! We ordered the lobster and garlic shrimp and lobster and coconut shrimp the first time we visited. The second time we visited, we got garlic shrimp (again because they were soooo good), the lobster thermodor, the grilled steak, and the bacon wrapped shrimp with cheese Oh my goodness, it was all so amazing!!!!!!! Plus, he has over 10 beers, and our bill was only $1200 pesos. We appreciated the birthday song and free cake for my husband. We definitely recommend this restaurant. But don't go if you're in a rush. The food took almost an hour to come out. We will 100% be going back on our next trip to mazatlan.

Fantastic open air restaurant with amazing service...2 for 1 at happy hour and incredible margaritas. Lobster 290 pesos or 15 usd. The best garlic butter octopus I've ever had..succulent and tender. Fish soup 100 pesos, lots of shrimp choices. I enjoyed the tequila shrimp with mushrooms and onions. I highly recommend Mr lionso

Great place to go for a quick bite or even a full meal, and if you like guacamole... You gotta try the guacamole supreme (shown in picture) it is amazing!!!

Outstanding view for dinner.
Had some good tequila!!!! Bought 2 bottles to take home. And the musicians let us get up and play a song with waa quite gracious of them . Had a really good time.

Delicious coconut shrimp, its a must!!! And fried fish, also super delicious!!! Service is very good, the place is in front of the beach, wonderful!! But, here is a cat arround that I do not like.

We could have been wheeled home. Food excellent - ordered the everything platter! Make sure you do so with leftoversor several very hungry - extremely hungry persons. It is gigantic! Staff excellent- very attentive and charming. Atmosphere - beach front, say no more.

What a fun place, great service, location, and great price for quality food. Also liked the tequila tasting. But the coconut shrimp was the best I have had. Enjoy.

The service at this restaurant is very good. The food is fantastic and authentic. I haven't eaten prawns this large in my life! I highly recommend that you give this place a shot.

We totally enjoyed our dinner . The portions were great and the food was great.

We visited Mr. Lionso’s tequila distillery which is located out on the beaten trail (it’s quite a drive from the town), we watched how his tequila is made and purchased a few bottles as gifts. I don’t drink, but my significant other said it was “smooth”. We also ate at Mr. Lionso’s restaurant at Cerritos beach. The food was absolutely delicious! We were able to meet Mr. Lionso. He is very nice and approachable. We will going back when we visit Mazatlán again.

While visiting Mazatlan, our taxi driver recommended this place for seafood and in particular shrimp. This is more of a local place not in the center of the Golden Zone with all the tourist restaurants. The staff knew english and were very friendly. The food was absolutely outstanding. We ordered a variety of shrimp dishes that are a must have. Coconut shrimp was the best. The cheese enchiladas were also so good. Shrimp tacos were surprisingly large. The place is on a quiet beach and offers a great view. The owner was a very warm and inclusive man that took time to speak to the guests. This is a great spot for lunch or dinner!

Great food and entertainment. And a stunning view. I am not so sure about the rattle snake tequila though.🙂

A return trip for us and happy to see nothing has changed. Good food. Great service. Staff are engaging. Entertainment is always good. View is awesome.
Will come back on our next Mazatlan excursion!
