Cabañas Montebello

We had an unforgettable experience at Cabañas Montebello and in Benito Juarez in general.
The location is simply beautiful, with an amazing view over the mountains. Clara and Augustin who live next door do everything to make you feel welcome and a part of the family. We ate all of our meals with them and their family.
Clara’s food is unbelievably good, healthy, fresh and organic.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to stay an extra night. The value for money is also great, you get so much for what you pay.
Every evening we had a lit fire and were so cosy inside the cabaña.
Trust me, it is worth making the journey from Oaxaca to experience the countryside and the generosity of the people there. When we had to leave, Clara sent us with fresh homemade juice and a bag of fruits.
We hope to return one day.

What a great place to stay! First, we thought it was closed, as the first building on the private road was. And we didn't hear any people. But suddenly a happy puppy appeared and led us to the right place. 2 cabañas with a great view and super friendly hosts. We enjoyed us very much with this genuin great couple that shared great food with us. Best stay in Mexico so far!

One of my favorite experiences in Mexico. Augustine and Eva were great hosts. They invited us to eat dinner and breakfast wit h them and made amazing food. The tamales were excellent! Also the atole and tea were amazing. The cabins are clean and have a great view of the mountains. We were also given a tour of the farm which was great. Seriously amazing place to stay!

Comfortable beds and amazing views.
They were so welcoming and let us come into their own home to eat around their table. They taught us how to make our own tortillas and made us delicious food from their own harvest.
We shared time telling them about our travels and listening to their stories about their lives there in Mexico and their time in Los Angeles. We got to speak Spanish and practice our Spanish, but they speak English as well.
We hope to return!

Tuvimos muchísima suerte de encontrar estas cabañas! Eran exactamente lo que estábamos buscando: un sitio en la sierra rodeado de bosque con vistas espectaculares. Las cabañas eran muy cómodas y tenían todo lo necesario como agua calientes. Además cada día nos dormimos observando el fuego de la chimenea.

Agustín y doña Clara nos trataron como familia y compartieron con nosotros la riqueza de su estilo de vida campesina y de sus tradiciones. La comida estuvo deliciosa y echa por ellos desde, desde la semilla hasta el plato!

Súper recomendación!

Pasamos un tiempo estupendo con la maravillosa familia de las cabañas montebello. Nos acogieron como en nuestra casa, la comida de doña Clara es increíble y el paraje donde se emplaza la cabaña es simplemente espectacular. Sin duda volveremos en nuestra próxima visita a Oaxaca, ya les echamos de menos.

Excelente lugar si lo que buscas es desconectarte de la ciudad y disfrutar de la naturaleza. Los anfitriones están al pendiente de lo que necesitas y la comida está elaborada con productos organicos que cosechan en el rancho donde se localizar las cabañas. Está muy cerca del centro del pueblo y de las atracciones turísticas como el mirador y puente colgante.
