CDMX has too many great museum that is so hard to choose one, but if I have a chance I would come back here. Ticket for visiting is free, and the place is enormous with variety of art styles from different countries. I love how clean the restrooms are, and how well the art pieces are kept. Will cơm back to visit those again!

A widely eclectic range of art from around the world.

I'd honestly recommend taking the elevator to the highest floor you can then walk up one more to the top of the building and starting there.

As an art and event curator myself I felt the lighting of a lot of the works throughout the space left a lot to be desired as far as properly displaying the pieces. At times making it hard to see finer details and leaving larger pieces in shadows of themselves.

This however did not take away from my experience as the works contained within the amazing infrastructure of the building filled my partner and I with wonder.

Tldr/ start at the top and work your way down.

The admission is free, making it accessible to all, and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring Mexico City's cultural scene!

I’m not sure if this museum is free but I was able to walk in after walking through security. The museum has a nice collection of Mexican and European art. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Mexico City. The building itself is beautiful! A nice silver building that stand out in a sea of glass highrises.

Awesome museum for art lovers. Wide selection of European and Mexican paintings & sculptures. The building is owned by the Slim family. Admission is free 👊.

PS: If you want a picture w/ the building, the best spot is across the street, on the first floor balcony of Museo Jumex.

This collection is amazing. As a european I spent most of the time on the fourth floor exploring mexican art but the european artists collection is more than impressive. Don’t forget to check the (not only) Rodin statues on the fifth floor and the 1900’s technology exhibition on the first floor. The only downside is that not much of the texts are available in English. Btw the entrance is free but there was no waiting to entry.

Astonishing architecture, there are at least five floors full of amazing art and historic pieces representing centuries of art. Some of the sculptures in the entrance are replicas from the original 1:1 size. You're going to spend a couple of hours there for sure. Lovely experience. Note: wheelchair access available and there is a lift on each floor, look for it is a bit hidden.

Huge art gallery with a unique collection of European artists outside of Europe namely renaissance and baroque. Mixed with a huge collection of contemporary art and collections from Mexico. And cost free for visit.

Besides the Museo Nacional de Antropología, this was the greatest highlight of a recent trip to Mexico City. This museum is filled with over 66,000 pieces of amazing art, sculptures and murals all owned by businessman Carlos Slim, who named the museum after his late wife Soumaya. The building itself is amazing and was designed by his son-in-law Fernando Romero, and reportedly Mr. Slim built it with hexagonal aluminum tiles to represent his 6 children. It features works of art from well known artists like Monet, Renoir, Rodin, Chagall, Salvador Dali, Leonardo da Vinci and Kahlil Gibran. You will also discover other artists, perhaps less will known, who will inspire and delight. The museum is free to visit and has 6 floors of art. Best to start from the 6th floor and make your way down. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent art museum located in the heart of Polanco. The entire collection is free to view, so it’s a perfect stop for any tourist or denizen of CDMX. There’s five floors of art, complete with works by Matisse, Chagall, Rodin, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Rivera (to name but a few). The museum is similar to the Guggenheim, as visitors can walk upstairs in a giant spiral, visiting each floor as they go. You’ll want more than an hour to make sure you see everything!

Great free museum.
It’s a bit far away and traffic make it difficult to leave past 4p.m.
Lot’s of great pieces, we loved walking there, stopping when something caught our eyes. Seeing everything will take you a lot of time.

Good place to see and spend the afternoon.

I’m not gonna put all the pictures from my trip here, but if you’re in Mexico City, you need to go to this museum, it is free, it is amazing, and you can experience art and statues and artifacts that I do not know how it was even possible to keep in the conditions that they were found in. It all looks immaculate and priceless and they let you get up very close to everything.

Loved all the floors and exhibits and the history. Do it! If you’re reading this in English, you’re likely here on vacation anyway.

This is one of the most accesible and curious museums I have ever experienced! It has an amazing collection worthy of any large European collection. Entry is free to all!

This museum has free entry to the public. The architecture of the building itself is a must see. The white interior adds so much character. The walls and ceiling are white from floor to floor. As we came in, we were directed to a section where we were to check in our bags and water bottles. This first floor is a large open space area with a few large exhibits that caught the attention of the visitors. There is also a souvenir shop in this same floor. We walked up from floor to floor through a spiraled walkway ramp situated around the perimeter of the structure. In the center, at each floor, we found so many collections ranging from coins to artwork to sculptures.

We visited the museum on New Year’s Day. It is a free museum with 5-6 floors of different types of art. We didn’t need to buy any tickets in advance. Bathroom was super clean and nice.

Their collection is as impressive as the building! Lots of classic art and historic objects. Apparently it's one of the best private collections and that's obvious given the breadth, diversity and notoriety of many artists featured in it.

For non-Spanish speakers be aware didactics and information is not also displayed in English so have the Google Translate app ready.

Also, you will have to cloak larger bags.
