Beautiful secluded beach away from the crowds of Puerto Vallarta, the beach bar is quite good, you need to get here by boat though, which, lo and behold, is why it's quiet.

Hidden gem. Pure paradise. Dogs, chickens, and horses. Restaurants close before 5 pm when the tourists leave the island and don't open til around noon. Perfect beach and great for swimming! Highly recommend!

This beach was recommends by a few people who visit Puerto Vallarta often and by locals. Great place to relax away from other crowded beaches. Only downside is you either have to hike for 2 hours from Boca or take a taxi boat for a few hundred pesos, this beach cannot be accessed by car. The water is perfect. Very quiet and soothing. Everyone is polite and nice. Great food in that area too and lots to do. This was the best beach experience I have ever had

This is a party beach. You can hike to here from Bocas (3.03 miles) or arrive like most people by boat.

Amazing Beach experience! Definitely recommend the water taxis from Boca De Tomatlan...bring snorkel/water goggles as you will be able to see and feel the shallow water fish swimming around you..come prepared with bottle water..and water shoes because some parts are a little rocky but for the most part the sand and warm water is plentiful! On my visit our water taxi captain slowed to show us manta rays jumping out of the water..surely this was a once in a lifetime experience!

Took a cab to Boca (in hindsight we should have just taken the bus, but we weren’t familiar with the area). From there, hiked to Los Animas. Do this hike!!! Amazing, quiet beaches on the way to swim in. The hike has some rocky terrain, so bring decent shoes (flip flops are not appropriate). About a 2 hour hike, or longer depending how much beach time you want to spend. Nice beach restaurants await you at the end of the hike in Los Animas. Take the water taxi back to Boca for $100 peso per person, or back to PV for a higher price. From Boca back to PV on the bus was $10 pesos, it’s an easy ride and does take long (around 30 minutes). Taking a cab is an option, but it doesn’t save you much time so might as well just take the bus

Absolutely beautiful, calm waters, plenty of people watching (cruise ship day trip location), enough restaurants, fun adventure getting there, lost among the jungle

Spent a wonderful day at the beach, a very relaxing place to enjoy with yourself or friends. There are a variety of restaurants to enjoy cold beer or drinks, food is also served. Great place to swim, a very positive experience highly recommended.

Beautiful beach access by water taxi should be 100 passo per person from the pier
Negotiations for prices from private boats
Lots of locals very few vendors
Price for a beer on as wage is 30 passo
Don’t know who these tourist are that get inflated prices- maybe they are not aware of the exchange ratesif you are not scared of a jungle walk and have abilities take the path through the jungle for added thrill

As a frequent traveler to Puerto Vallarta for more than 5 years and having visited many beaches this is my Favorite beach by far! Short boat ride, excellent soft sandy beaches, good snorkling. Definitely more locals than tourists.
And the BEST seafood platter I have EVER had!! I can't wait to come back in January.

This beach was beautiful & so many things to do! They have a ziplining obstacle course, massages on the beach, jet skiing, food, etc. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves spending the day here.

Playa las animas Is beautiful, you'll find everything you need to have a great time with the family. Seafood is good and fresh they also have a place that offers massages, there's snacks and different activities like parashooting, banana ride and horse riding.

It was a great place. We had a tour took us there, and it was super fun. I really enjoyed it. I would love to take the trail though, as I haven’t done that yet. I hope that we can do that. Since there are only two ways of getting there, it is a very quiet beach, and I like that. Looking forward to coming back.
