You know this is a place you can't miss downtown. Even if it is just for a quick beer at the upstairs bar or a long lunch with loved ones downstairs this place is truly magical in its different faces.

Food is better than average and priced very fairly. Some of their dishes are very famous.

If you're downtown you have to stop by and check out the downstairs and upstairs area.

If you don't like to wait, you can always sit at their cafe area which is actually really funky.

Really incredible and magical place. From the moment you enter you can appreciate the architecture of the place, its piano music is spectacular. Something I want to highlight is the kindness and helpfulness of their employees, the recommendations to order, super deli. I loved the sangria and the enchilada with green sauce, delicious, I highly recommend it because I tolerate a little spicy and that was the best, it does not sting too much or too little. Clean facilities that make you feel at home. Affordable prices and nearby there is valet parking.

Located in a really lovely palace covered in tiles, this shop and restaurant is extremely pleasant. We ordered enchiladas, mini sopes and guacamole. The guacamole was a bit more tomate tuna avocado, but when we complained the lovely “mesera”, Gabriela, brought us second servings. The enchiladas were mil dando delicious and my favourite among the mini sopes was the one with cochinita pibil.

Beautiful view from the restaurant, excellent decoration and ambiance. The food was amazing and the prices were good. The waitress was really sweet and the deaf cashier was lovely. Shout out to him, next time I will be able to say “thanks” in sign language because he motivated me to learn it!

This review was for lunch on Christmas Day a few years ago, so won’t be as critical! Service was prompt and we were seated quickly, staff spoke English well. Had a hamburger and tacos - food was nothing exceptional, but the main dining atrium - WOW! Never dined anywhere like it - very impressive, and fully decked out in Christmas decorations too. What a building - suggest even having a drink here to soak in the atmosphere.

Incredible place! The architecture is amazing, everything is at an angle (earthquake). The restaurant is huge and there is some little shops inside.
The food is delicious (lot of Mexican meals), quick and friendly service.

Stumbled onto this place by chance. What a fund! Besides being beautiful the drinks and food were excellent. Fruit parfait to start, fettuccine and chicken molé entrees. No room fir dessert but lots of choices downstairs for you to take away. Definitely go, enjoy!

The place takes you back to the 19th century
Be ready for the big waiting list to enter the restaurant, but at the end it worth the stay
There is ground floor and first floor restaurant
We stayed In the ground floor it was so beautiful

Good quality, reasonably priced food with a remarkable location. The interior of the building makes one feel as though they have traveled back in time. There is sitting on the first and second floor. Usually there is a line for the first, so if you're not interested in waiting in a line ask if there is seating on the second floor.

My friends said it was one of the oldest restaurants in town. Love the blue tile exterior. Inside was also super gorgeous. The food I had was amazing and this entire place is a photo op. Love the staff outfits too.

Excellent location. Basket of chips with bread. This is the place to go for breakfast in Mexico City. Lots of history, but not going to bore you with details. Reasonably priced, great service and delicious food. Will accommodate any size party.

Even though we didn't order any food or drinks at Sanborns, it is undoubtedly worth your visit. Established almost one hundred years ago by two brothers, Walter and Frank Sanborn, California transplants, the place boast one of the most impressive interiors topped with a magnificent glass dome. Sanborns, now owned by Carlos Slim (who seems to own everything else in Mexico, being one of the 16 richest people in the world), has seen the most diverse clientele throughout the years, from Mexican and world luminaries to Zapatista troops who helped themselves to Sanborns' coffee and food; it has also housed Jockey Club.
The staircase leading to the second floor boasts a mural by José Clemente Orozco.
The outside of the building, the famous House of Tiles (Casa de los Azulejos), features two facades adorned by ceramic tiles, the original on Avenida Francisco I. Madera side, dating from 1737, and the newer addition on the side of Calle 5 de Mayo from 1903.

Excelente place fire breakfast! It's very popular, so there's a queue to get seated. But so very worth it.

Is a great place and my personal recommendation for having breakfast while visiting the Centro Historico of Mexico city. It has great service and the food is good. Waiters are friendly but it can ve a little difficult if you're not a spanish speaker. Inside it gas beautiful arquitextural details that makes you feel you are in a world class restaurant.
