Decent hike from town. About 45 mins from central town to the peak. I did it in sandals.

Apparently much of the contemporary surrounding developments are built on undiscovered burial and ceremonial grounds.

This "Mirador La Peña" is a really nice place, honestly. Quite an interesting "hike". When you get on top of this place you'll see the whole lake and valley. It's really worth the visit, mostly on sunny, shiny days.

You can go with family or friends, as long as they don't get bored with the view (which I personally don't). No specific equipment needed. Bring some water tho, just in case (if you go on a sunny day).

I do recommend it, and a lot actually.
Stay safe!

Very short hike to get to the top. Also very slippery only because it was raining so the rocks were kinda green with some type of moss and wet. Worth the hike there, when you get to the top the view is so beautiful 😍. It wasn't so busy there, but I went in the morning, only a couple of people . We got rain as we were getting down the mountain.

The climb to the top was worth the effort. Do wear proper shoes to not slip on the rocks. It has stairs carved out of the rocks to reach the top.

This is a must see for any visitors in Valle de Bravo. Spectacular views, please leave a tip at the beginning of the trail for the locals who help upkeep the area. Please don't litter, there are places for garbage in different areas.
Note - using google maps gets you there but is not completely accurate.

100% recommended for outdoor trip and weekend walks. Staff at gate access will charge only a voluntary fee (like tipping) but vehicles' parking has a $30 cost.
Bring sunscreen, water and sneakers at least.

For someone who is moderately fit, this is a pretty easy and short hike. My parents in their 50s also had no trouble hiking up. Within 5 minutes of the hike you start to see the beautiful views. You can either take a taxi to the entrance or walk there from the Zocalo, walking takes about 20 minutes. Be careful at the top, there are no railings!
