I spent only one night here but I loved it. The location is incredible, right on the main Square, independence square! Some rooms even face it. The hotel ceiling is incredibly beautiful, imported from France in 1908. There's a Starbucks opposite the hotel. I loved my stay here

I loved this experience. I was on vacation with my family and we had the most wonderful relaxing time. Our room had a view of the plaza and it was stunning to see at night. Every morning we had a breakfast buffet on the terrace with fresh juice and food. For a treat we had dinner on the terrace with the most elegant refreshing food I've ever had.

The Gran Hotel is right in the historical center of Mexico City. It's absolutely beautiful inside, and the staff is lovely. I can't praise the service and staff enough - everything from the moment you arrive when the bellhop takes your luggage, to the very friendly front desk, is a positive, happy experience.

The terrace restaurant looks over the central plaza of the city. The food is good, but a bit expensive, but the view and ambiance makes the premium worth it. The area around the hotel is pedestrian only, which means that there are no cars - this is both good and bad because it makes the are quieter and more walkable, but it also means that it's difficult to get a taxi without walking a few blocks, and you will need to walk a few blocks after getting dropped off. It's definitely a good location to explore the city because it's so central. The difficulty with taxis is the only negative.

Often, the value of actual hospitality is underrated in the hospitality industry, and it's overshadowed by fancy facilities and frills. Not at Gran Hotel, where the staff treats you like their own guest. They are warm and will go out of their way to help you out. Oh, and the hotel itself is a heritage site with exceptional facilities & a location to kill for!

Absolute, must visit. If I am ever in Mexico City again, I am staying at Gran for sure.

Attended a wedding reception since I couldn’t find a room for the days (all sold out). It is a beautiful location. Right at Mexico city’s Zocalo.

Staff is great. I had a wardrobe disfunction and when I asked the front desk for a needle they promptly gave me a complementary sewing kit.

Reception room was really nice. Food was good but the kudos is the staff. Great job.

Be aware that even the location is great it can be susceptible to demonstrations that block access to it. So keep an eye out for them.

This is not a luxurious hotel but for me it’s definitely worth it, you need to have in your mind that this is an old hotel. The architecture is amazing and the staff will do anything to make you feel welcome. They offer free tea, coffee, apples, water and some other treats. The location is perfect just in front of Zocalo. I will definitely be back.

We went to Gran Hotel for a breakfast in the rooftop but unfortunately they didn’t serve food there on this day. We ended up to try the buffet style breakfast on the top floor with a view and it was really authentic mexican breakfast. I liked it it was delicious with countless choices. The highlight of our visit was to watch a little bit the behind the scenes of a Netflix series in the hall. Exactly front of the entrance.

Have never stayed but walking into the lobby, staring up to ceiling and riding one of those old elevators is extraordinary. The restaurant up top is fantastic as is the view of the Zocalo

This iconic hotel is featured in the James Bond "Spectere"...which doesnt do it justice. Come marvel at the interior, ride the elevator to as high as you can and ascend the alabaster stairs to the reward of the rooftop resturant with unbelievable views.
You will be treated like royalty!

I did not stay here. Stopped in to see the lobby. It is worth a stop to see the Tiffany dome. The lobby is gorgeous. Location is right off the Zolaco.

We had dinner in the restaurant overlooking the Zocolo. Fantastic view of the palace and Cathedral. A must see if this is your first time in Mexico City.

Great spot to walk in and admire the lobby with Tiffany Glass ceiling and ancient elevator. Recommend going for a meal or drink to the rooftop restaurant to have a view over the city, Zócalo and all the way to the mountains.

What an experience! The check in is amazing. Bellman takes your bags, you get champagne at the front desk, and a ride on the antique elevators (while getting a short history lesson). The building is amazing and beautiful. Service is great. Perfect location on the square but also close to shopping. Room is comfortable and had everything we needed.

One of the greatest hotels I’ve ever stayed. The building originally opened as a department store in 1899. Since then, its art nouveau bones have been carefully maintained: The curving staircase is a replica of the one at Paris's Le Bon Marché; the antique elevator, made of iron and concrete, was the first of its kind in Mexico City.
The only problem was the Wifi, which didn’t work very well.
