Casa Ofelia Restaurante-Bar

Very nice restaurant, away from the busy Plaza. Welcoming atmosphere and great selection of tasty food. Friendly service, can recommend.

The portion is huge. It cost us 900 pesos including a 10% tip.

But don’t order the pasta. It’s not good. Stick with Mexican food only.

I've eaten here many times and the food is simple but delicious. I usually order the flautas but decided to try something new and get the enchiladas suisas... also delicious.

The food is always tasty here,great service and colorful decor.Right in the heart of downtown. I love the fajitas here ,very delicious.

Great restaurant in the centre, friendly staff and quick service. We ordered 2 soups and chorizo quesadilla to share for 265 pesos.
If you are a chilaquiles lover, those soups are a great alternative to try!

- Sopa tarasca (Black beans base, tortilla, cheese, avocado, cream)
- Sopa azteca (tomato base, tortilla, cheese, chilli pepper, avocado cream) - very spicy!

waiter was very nice. welcomed us, put the chair right for my wife, presented the english menues. other waitress couldnt speak engl but communication was no problem. also very friendly and ahe gave us some bread and salsa as pre-dish.the restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated. we ordered some french toast, pan cakes , cheese quesadillas, coffee and a fruit juice. while waiting we discovered the free wifi sign.lucky. food was served quite quickly and also very tasteful. for me it was an overall very nice experience. therfor i can give 5 stars without any doubt and recommend this restaurant.

The best food ever. The presentation was really nice. The drinks arrived in a bowl, and they were delicious. The chapulín tacos were really good. I highly recommend them. 10/10 would eat again.

Came here for breakfast, and the chilaquiles was fantastic. Chorizo was so flavourful, and the eggs were so fresh. Cheap and good portion size. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Interior was cozy. Highly recommended!

Ordered arracheras de la casa and they were so delicious! Personnel are so kind and professional. Completely worth it

Qe had the moladas and the chicken soup, they were very good. The moladas were very tasty, no to sweet or to spicy, they have a very satisfying flavor without the overpowering of spices.

Had a very good meal at Casa Ofelia. Ordered:

Enchiladas Mineras (the style known in this area). Tasty combination of cheese, potatoes, carrots. Plate included a chicken leg quarter. It was a large portion. Worth a try. I would give 4.5 stars

Pollo milanesa (breaded chicken)
The chicken was pounded flat, breaded and fried, tasted like chicken you would get with an order of Chicken Parmigiana. Also had good flavor and included two large portions of chicken.

Taquitos
Chicken filled, fried, plain…just the way my daughter likes them.

Spaghetti
This was the surprise of the night. The sauce was like a creamy red sauce, like an Alfredo marinara mix. Huge portion.

My teenage girl’s like their food very plain, so we’re always worried they won’t like what they order on vacation. Casa Ofelia was a hit with everyone.

BTW, the service was 5 star! Lots of attention, good explanations, and what we perceived as genuine concern for our experience.

great little place! wonderful staff. THeir orange juice and breakfast is amazing. I went there 3 times during my visit. Super clean which is really important during covid. Extra points to them for supporting Fundacion corazon animal which is an aninal foundation in this town.... it shows where their heart is :)

My favorite restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Traditional Mexican cuisine of very high quality. Try the breakfast sopes with mole.......

Delicious and cheap. Very large variety, from hamburgers and spaghetti to traditional Mexican food. The tortilla soup was very spicy. The margaritas were very good. Portions were not huge but plenty for me.
