Hotel Hacienda Marques Guanajuato

I have read here reviews from a year ago and I disagree with many of them. I will explain why, below.

Maybe something bad was happening a year ago? Maybe changes were made?

First, this a hotel where you can feel at a Mexican Hacienda. Trees, huge green areas, leaves falling, birds, etc. are part of its charm. You can have a beautiful, restful time walking and enjoying its picturesque landscapes. Kids have areas to play and a cute corner with farm animals to see.

It’s located at the outskirts of Guanajuato city, near also other cities (Silao, León, Irapuato…) so going outside the hotel don’t expect Guanajuato within walking distance. Transportation is needed for that. That was OK for me, because I needed a nature oriented getaway more than spending time at another city. I did visit Guanajuato two times though, it’s beautiful. The shuttle to the city was suspended because of the health recommendations of the pandemic time. Hopefully the shuttle will be back. It’s needed. For now, reception helps you find a taxi. As a reference, I paid a taxi 100 pesos (less than 5 US dollars) to go the bus station.

My room had a nice view of a forest area, and was cleaned daily. Clean sheets and towels. City slickers in other reviews seem unsatisfied, but my room also had TV, wi-fi, an iron, a hair dryer, mirrors, shampoo, soap, water bottles, a coffee maker, two chairs, two beds, a desk, a table, a night table. Unlike city hotels, this is a place where I could live. You can hear birds singing. If you don’t want to hear a rooster early in the morning, ask for a room away from him. It’s just a matter of distance, but no problem.

The people at the reception desk and restaurant were always helpful. There are bikes, a pool, courts, and a chapel. The manager introduced himself, kindly showed me the little farm and its animals as dear characters in it. We also talked about how many trees are labeled with their name. I learned to differentiate them.

Some people complain about not being allowed to have their own food. I just saw that restriction near the pool area, but ask in case that’s important for you. The restaurant food is OK. The complimentary breakfast was not enough for me. In general I would have liked more fruits and vegetables, because the menu is nice, but veggies would healthily complement it.

Overall, a beautiful experience.

Perfect getaway! We loved every minute of our stay in the beautiful Hacienda El Marqués. Friendly staff, very safe & great location. We were a big group and it was enough activities for us to do without having to leave the hacienda all the time.
Kids had a blast. They is a nice playground; big pool for adults and kids, ping pong, badminton, tennis; even a soccer field!
Also there are available pet-friendly areas in case you want to bring your fluffy friend for a play date.
The restaurant has a beautiful view and the menu is really good for breakfast, lunch and I absolutely loved the dinner options.

Regarding the rooms, they are spacious and very clean. The beds are really comfortable. We stayed in the “Romantic Suite” and the rest of the family in the “Cabañas”. The patio of the cabaña is wonderful! You can sit right outside of your room, have a cappuccino; while enjoying the nature and breathing the fresh air and birds signing.
In the evening you can go to the centre of beautiful Guanajuato to enjoy its historical streets and colors.

Also special thanks to the management. They were so sweet & attentive!

We had our wedding at the Hacienda and it was awesome. Staff was very friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast was on time and plenty (plus delicious). During the reception they were very attentive with our guests.

The owner was so nice he even drove us to the airport in Leon.

It is a good place to organize a private event, far from the city but still easily reachable, surrounded by nature with a great view. Excellent customer service

Un lugar muy bonito lleno de naturaleza y actividades de todo tipo, ideal para un aniversario en pareja o salida de amigos. Todo muy limpio y gran atención del personal

Bendito Internet, nunca hubiera llegado. Hospedarme aquí ya que está muy lejos de la autopista, sin embargo vale la pena cada centavo que se paga por quedarse aquí.

Tiene su capilla, su biblioteca, cabañas, habitaciones de hotel, cancha de futbol empastada, alberca, cancha de tenis, cancha de basquetbol, bicicletas y un restaurante muy rico y accesible.

Su vegetación es increíble es un parque botánico en toda la expresión de la palabra seguramente debe de ser un excelente lugar para un congreso u organización de bodas y eventos familiares, súper recomendable.

El mejor hotel que he conocido .!!! Me encanta la hubicacion, los alimentos, la habitaciones muy limpias, el personal muy atento, todo excelente.!! Las amenidades son lo que me encanta …. Un lugar para venir a descansar ..!!! Todo de10 ….

Es un bellísimo hotel, con instalaciones de tipo colonial y amplias áreas verdes; con una amplia variedad de servicios incluidos como: alberca, gimnasio, área de fogata (costo adicional de $350), préstamo de bicicletas, golfito, entre otros.

No se ubica en Guanajuato capital, pero esta a 20 minutos de recorrido en carro, lo quebte garantiza una estancia tranquila, lejos del bullicio de la zona turística. En caso de venir sin vehículo, el hotel cuenta con transporte que te lleva al centro de la ciudad y posteriormente pasa a recogerte en determinados horarios.

Te ofrecen una experiencia de hospedaje muy cómoda y apacible.

Ampliamente recomendado.

Un lugar muy lindo y familiar. La comida perfecta pero lo que más me gusta es el trato del personal.
