Lucy is a very talented chef who cultivates a warm and inviting environment at her restaurant.

The best part — the food — was amazing. I had the broccoli soup which was super hearty. I also had the lasagne which had such a flavorful tomato sauce. It was very obvious that she made the food with love and passion.

I will for sure come back in my next visit to Guanajuato! Thank you Lucy!

Tazón de Barro is a delightful vegan restaurant in a lovely part of Guanajuato. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by Lucy's warm smile and a cozy ambiance. Lucy, the owner and chef, is a beautiful soul who will take care of you with her delicious and healing food. She offers a different set meal each day which means each visit to the restaurant is never the same! Her food is vibrant and satisfying, but also offers many nourishing health benefits. It is easy to see that Lucy cooks from her heart and you can feel all that love in her dishes. Highly recommend!

Eating at Tazón de Barro is like having dinner at your favorite auntie’s house. Though botanical dining room is tranquil and lovely, I prefer the “chef’s table” — talking to Lucy and watching her cook is a highlight of the experience. Lucy cooks with all the love in her heart and you can taste it in her food. The experience overall is intimate, delicious, and soul-nourishing.

The menu changes every day and you won't be disappointed! You are serves an appetizer, a main dish & a yummy drink. My favorite dishes were the EVERYTHING but I loved the lasagna, chile en nogada and cauliflower soup. The space sits about 6 people with an additional more intimate room for you to sit, eat, relax and enjoy the plants & herbs she’s growing.

My favorite part of the experience is watching Lucy bring her food to life, it's a great experience.

We stumbled across this cute restaurant when we were searching for good eats in Guanajuato. We are not vegan or vegetarian but thoroughly enjoyed every dish (cauliflower soup, zucchini pasta and juice) prepared by Lucy. What a nice find in Guanajuato!

Tazón de Barro is a great little treasure in Guanajuato. One of very few vegan restaurants here, very intentional with all ingredients, healthy and nourishing. It was like enjoying a meal at a friend’s home. We sat around the counter and watched the owner Lucy work in the kitchen while sharing stories with her and the other guests there. The evening we were there, Lucy prepared a beautiful soup, portobello mushroom with housemade vegan cheese, and a salad. Great experience! Thank you Tazón de Barro!

Simply the freshest, most innovative menu del dias. The place itself is tucked into the most charming nook. Lots of light, lots of warmth, lots of greenery. Visit. You won't regret it.

Wow! I am not a vegan but Wow. So happy to have come here on my last day. What a gem. It was my first time here and I didn’t make a reservation. Instead of turning me away, she offered me a private seat in the green house. From start to finish, everything was so well balanced. I would consider converting to a vegan if I could have meal this good every day.

Best vegan food in town! Lucy is such an amazing cook, explain always so much about a vegan diet and is so lovely as a person! I could eat there again and again and again! It's also a great place to meet other people! Pure Love ❤

Everything is made from scratch from those two lovely people. One as a chef in the kitchen and the other one behind the scenes, while home gardening fresh vegetables and herbs.

Tazón de barro was an absolutely wonderful spot with a welcoming host. Lucy sat us in her greenhouse and served a delicious and unforgettable 3-course meal. Everything in our meal was vegan and gluten free. You could tell that the all of the food was made with care and passion. We hope to come back some day!

If you visited Guanajuato and did not stop by here... I think you really missed out. We stumbled upon this place by chance and we kept coming back while we were in Guanajuato. Most people who try Lucy's food do, as we met other patrons. The food is not just amazing, you can feel it is good for you. The menu is always changing, the flavors are fantastic and the atmosphere is phenomenal. I miss it... I am not a foodie and I have traveled around but this is one of the kind. We count ourselves very lucky to have found Lucy’s little bistro. There’s something very relaxing about not having to pick through a menu and instead enjoying what Lucy has selected to cook that day. She clearly puts her heart, soul and care into everything she does. The food was delicious, healthy and beautifully presented.

Home cooked vegan Mexican food. Exclusive atmosphere and enjoyable people. Small place, so prepare to wait. It’s worth it. Menu varies from day to day.

Incredibly delicious food, lovingly prepared, & artfully presented by the very charming Lucy!

Our fabulous menu included: broccoli puree soup, baked potato stuffed with veggies & lentils, salad with sprouts, tiny tomatoes, & shredded beets & jicama. Cucumber agua fresca (beverage). And...Vegan chocolate cake with strawberry puree. Mmmmmm great!!

Tazón de Barro has been the most delightful discovery in Guanajuato. Tucked inside a hallway at Positos 70 you will find a small room that seats perhaps 6 people at most, and behind the counter Lucy will be there making and lovingly serving delicious and healthy food.

Everything is plant-based, gluten-free, and delicious. If you didn't know, you would never guess. And best of all is the gracious and kind proprietor, Lucy, who is as wonderful as the food she serves.

Right now not many people know about this hidden gem, as it has only been open for about a year. Someday it will be "discovered" and mobbed, I'm sure. In the meantime, don't miss the chance to have a very intimate and soul-satisfying meal, and be sure to ask Lucy to add you to her WhatsApp list while you are visiting Guanajuato.

Lucy's place is one of the best, I eat exclusively in vegetarian restaurants and I haven't found anything else like this here in México. If you like delicious and filling nutrient dense food you have to try this place. The cherry on top is the gracious hostess, she is so friendly and kind, you are sure to have a great experience.
