Excellent food based on Mexican traditions but with interesting twists, and beautiful presentation. The owner is very friendly and recommended a few dishes, all of which were great. Of particular note were the starters even more so than the mains. And among those, the peppers stuffed with lamb meat were the best. Also the place has a great view over Guanajuato.

When we went on a Thursday just after 7 it was completely empty except for us which was unexpected. We got given the best seat in the house with a fantastic view, plus warm friendly service with excellent recommendations. My partner and I agreed that the rolled-cheese starter the waiter suggested was one of the best things we have ever eaten. The duck tacos were also incredible. It is far from cheap, but worth it. We liked our main course, but wish we had gotten more starters as small plates as there are so many great options.

Beautiful space, wonderful service and wine selection and the best elevated traditional Mexican cuisine I have had the pleasure of eating. The Beef Tongue with Pecan Mole was extraordinary! Hands down the best restaurant in Guanajuato.

Wonderful, high-quality meal. Felt like a Michelin star experience and the environment was beautiful. Location was also great, outside the city center and in a good neighborhood. Monse was really helpful in helping us book the reservation and gave us recommendations to make the experience special!

Excellent food and service. All the dishes were tasty. The place a little bit far from the center, but worth it. The decoration very cozy. I loved the beef rib and the tongue. Delightful modern mexican food.

The best meal I had in GTO! Food was impeccable in a charming house converted into a restaurant. I later found out it is the childhood home of the chef and owner, a very humble and gracious woman.

I had the sopa with pork cracklings and some fire roasted veggies, and for the main course I had the braised lengua de res in a pecan molé sauce. Not too sweet or decadent for molé. It was delicious and a big portion. Cristian was an excellent server. I highly recommend Mercedes House!

Exquisite cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. This restaurant is a wonderful combination of unique gourmet Mexican dining without any feeling of pretentiousness. You will experience flavors and textures you've probably never had before, yet the staff and owner are extremely warm and will make you feel at home. We were well taken care of and really enjoyed the pork belly, the chile ancho, and the escamoles. Highly recommended.

Best place to eat in Guanajuato without any doubt, everything was delicious.
Prices are affordable for that kind of food. I speak spanish but there were foreigners eating and the waiters spoke really fluent english.
Everybody was really nice and I even got the chance to meet the owner, who is a extremely friendly man.
There's no downside of this restaurant, it's a little far from downtown to walk (like 2miles) so you better have a car or go in taxi, I was just in a short trip so didn't bring my car, but the waiter requested a taxi for me and arrived just a few minutes later.

GTO does not disappoint when it comes to food, and this place is one that I would recommend. The pistachio mole was divine as was the dos cremas and pan de maíz.

Excellent flavor. ordered chicken pistachio mole (it has no chocolate) and chile nogada (stuffed relleno with pork) Just fantastic. Great portions and stylish presentation.
