The church next door was extremely large in size, but nothing prepared me for the ex-convent itself - the beautiful chapels, the monk's cells, the charter rooms, the garden, etc. And mummies! I spent double the time I allocated to the visit and it's still far short of what I would have liked to spend.

I was very surprised to see that this convent has mummies that are very well preserved despite not going through a curing process, although there isn't alot of information about them other than being burried at the church and then dug up by soldiers looking for treasures but finding only bodies. The rest of the museum is equally impressive. Beautiful paintings and rooms where servant lived have now been converted to display areas. The garden although not fancy by any means is very well kept.

Beautiful museum located in an old monastery. The permanent exhibition showcases religious art, but there are other expositions as well.

Wonderful museum in San Angel. The museum is huge and really cheap. There is a wide collection of religious art by mexican artists of colonial times. The crypt is a jewel with amazing frescoes and also well preserved mummies. Attach to the museum is a beautiful church with some astonishing domes.

A really peculiar and interesting mix of religious site and art gallery. It has it all, starting with living rooms of nuns of the past, which are converted into gallery with pictures, till authentic things for making services, altars, both indoor and outdoor, even a giant wooden bench made from the whole tree. Of course the crypts with mummified bodies, though not very ancient, dating back to the end of XIX and beginning of XX century. I am not posting the photos here, since the content might be inappropriate.
Last, but not the least, beautiful park with some cats.
Don’t think, just go and enjoy it.
Active catholic church is a neighbouring building, vicinities are lovely and have plenty fancy restaurants, though might be a little bit pricy.
Entry fee is MXN75, which is around 4 dollars.
They are accepting credit cards.
The only caveat on my opinion, is closing time: it’s 5 pm.

Epic place in CDMX. Don't miss this highlight if you are by coyoacan. Don't miss one of the icons of Mexico and what makes this country unic the mummies and day of the dead.

Is a very large museum, many chambers and even a crypt with mummified corpses.

Beautiful colonial buildings. Beautiful church. The quality of the museum in general has been improving gradually during the last ten years. The temporary exhibits are great!

Beautiful former monastery. Very clean and well preserved. Lots of art pieces like wood sculptures and paintings. Mummified nuns' corpses in the basement. Highly recommendable.

Great place to visit, the mommies are a sight and it's very cheap to stroll the halls of this former convent

Great preservation of this convent. Great opportunity to see and honour mummies in the place where they lived.
