Lots of very fresh veggies and fruit , meat and fish.
I had chicken soup it was enough for 2 people it was the best flavored chicken soup I've ever had.

Awesome market. Vast assortment of vendors, fresh food, meat, fish fruits veggies, bakery, dairy,.household supplies, clothing and niknaks.. many eateries to choose from.

Every time we come town I try and do all my shopping in and around the market. Fresh produce, meat, and fish! So many good little food stalls as well. Dive in and try something new!

As a tourist only stating for a few days it was fun to visit. I really didn't need to shop. If I was staying for a few weeks I might visit for local produce every few days. You can get food here at the food counters.

Best of old Mexico!! The marketplace. Fresh fish, beef, chicken....at vendors everywhere. People lined up to purchase the carnetas, coffee, fresh fruit and veggies.....absolutely a must visit in Zihua

Great place to buy fruits and vegetables! And kitchen items, from containers to placemats to plungers... Good quality, reasonable prices.

You want something? Come here. You will find it. I went like 4 or 5 times and that was not enough. Great cheap food. Tons of fruits and vegetables. Tons of souvenirs.

Everything under the sun is here. Great parents...happy kids. Always a pleasure to see these kind magic people.

Very authentic food and lots of hidden shops. Extensive selection of fresh farm fruits and vegetables as well as meats, cheeses, tortillas and baked goods. You need it, it’s here. The ultimate farm to table market.

Mercado Municipal has everything you can think of from fresh meat to baked goods to produce to blender replacement parts. And more!

It is divided into sections with similar things together.

Two aisles of butcher shops that when they're not helping customers they are cutting meat.

There are a couple of bakeries with rolls, bread, and sweets.

More than a dozen lunch counters fill two more aisles. Also, a couple of sit down restaurants with more extensive menus can be found.

About ten fish mongers sell octopus, shrimp, tuna, snapper, and several other kinds of seafood.

Several produce stands sell a huge variety of fruit and veggies.

There's a section with clothing shops and shoe stores.

Lots of kitchenware, hardware, souvenirs, and the list goes on.

I like to just wander through and enjoy watching.

Is easy to get lost inside, so take note where your car is. Fun place PACKED with cool stuff.

This is in the center of Zihuatanejo. We stoped at Any’s restaurant and had a scrumptious tamale wrapped in banana leaves! Two lunches and drinks with guacamole and chips was only about $10 dollars! The Mercado is the shopping hub of the area. Fresh fish, meats, vegetables and fruits straight from the farmers to you! All around the Mercado are a huge a selection of stores and hustle bustle of the community. Taxi and bus stops line the street to whisk patrons home from shopping.

So many stores, so many working here. This place is unlike anything I have ever seen before. AAA+++

The vendors there are super reasonable and they love to barter and haggle with the prices it's so much fun.

Clean, masks, fresh fruit & vegetables! A must visit! Not busy.

The high point here is Fonda Irma. Great típico food at great prices, an always smiling, hard working crew, and of course Irma, boss of bosses, a great lady. I have been through the menu twice, top to bottom, side to side, and never had a dish that I didn’t want to order again. Highly recommended. Update 2023. Dear Irma is another Mexican COVID victim. May she rest in peace. The ladies who worked for her are trying to keep it going. They need your support.
