Very interesting church with luxurious decorations. The building style is a mix of indigenous and European Baroque styles, suggesting integration of cultures.

Gorgeous location. The church is historically important for being the first where the native Americans were able to portray their interpretation of the gospel.

With so many unique churches in Puebla, this one is not to be missed. Beautifully preserved and lovely architecture here. You can take a local bus which will take you to the heart of Tonanzintla. Everything is within short distance by foot. Must see!

Beautiful baroque church decorated by indigenous artisans. Unfortunately they were preparing for semana santa and we only got a glimpse of the inside, but it is well worth the visit, especially if you find yourself in Cholula.

The exterior catches the eye with niches featuring primitive icons and colorful tiles. But it's the interior which is simply stunning. The baroque decorations are uniquely Mexican and are a joy to behold. No photos allowed.

It's probably the most lavishly decorated interior of any church in Mexico! No photos are allowed inside, but you can purchase postcards.

The most amazing church in all the state of Puebla. It's a wonderful mix of two cultures: spanish and prehispanic, all in one beautiful master piece of the mexican architecture.

Beautiful church with an interesting history. Be sure to read up on it's history. The local population had input in it's design and it's obviously different than the typical Spanish design. They don't allow pictures. The attached were provided by the government certified tour guide. It is worth the 15 drive from Cholula.

The town takes on the stewarship of the church. Each family rotates the responsibilities, unfortunately no photos or video are allowed. Beautiful church, unconventional because it was done without artistic plans or guidance from experts.

Really impresive church, the guy at the door didnt let me take pictures untill i was about 5 meters from the entrance, and the pictures they sell are total trash so don't even ask and sneak a pic if you want to share the gorgeous little interior.
Was glad to hear this church had real bells, instead of the annoying recording they play in most other churches I've seen around here.

Great place to visit. Take the tour bus located inside the main parking lot of cholula, fits 30, they will make a stop to the templo. Remember no photos nor videos inside the temple. There's restrooms, artesians, candies, food, micheladas near by. Enjoy.
