Robert's K 38 Surf Motel

This is my favorite place to stay when visiting the area to surf. I can see the waves from my room. Russ is an outstanding host. He's always accommodating and friendly. He will even give you a haircut! The rooms are basic but nicely put together. The board room is great for storing your gear and taking a shower after a surf. I highly recommend if your a surfer looking for an easy place to stay with good vibes.

Great place to hang and surf. Folks are super chill and you have Charlie's Tanquriea just north of the place for great food, cool folks who are very welcoming. I used to live down In Rosarito Playas and will go back soon now I'm retired. Just look for the giant statue of Christ on the left side and their both across the street. Muchas Gracias amigos

My wife and I and our small dog just stayed at Robert’s. Modest but clean, comfortable, friendly and nicely located with a great view of the ocean. Very dog friendly too. Russell who manages it is a very good host.

I love staying at Robert's eery time I'm in the area. The place is super nice, the views are breathtaking, and they are very friendly. Ideal to stay by the ocean, rooms are very clean, and they have an amazing fire pit and patio to enjoy with friends (and strangers, everyone is cool at this place). Also, 5 mins walking distance there is a very cool brewery, a cafe, and a tienda where it's easy to find everything you need to hang and have fun. I definitely recommend this place!

Very friendly and helpful owners. Robert and Russell are the best. I've stayed there about a dozen times over the years. Clean, quiet, good set up if you want to surf at K38 or if you just want to chill at the ocean. And you can walk to taco stands, small market, and Las Rocas hotel where there's a full restaurant, good bar and entertainment.

Roberts K38 is excellent! Contacted Russ and got a solid room for a great deal! Nice room, great hospitality, prime location. 10/10 recommend. Don’t hesitate.

My last visit was in Sept 2020, and I have stayed at Robert's before. This is the best spot for surfers (or friends of surfers) who want to experience a positive surf culture vibe with all the beauty of Baja, Mexico. It is a lot of fun to meet others who share your excitement for surfing. I always meet nice people, and the layout of the property encourages mingling in the common area with tables, chairs, and the incredible view of the ocean. There are several room options to pick based on your budget and overall goal. The OV room is perfect for the non-surfing occupants who want the beautiful ocean view. There are larger rooms for groups on surf safari or family gatherings. There are also budget rooms, or dry rooms for the persons who want to surf all day and just have a comfy bed to sleep. The parking area is secure with a large gate that is closed at night. You can walk to nearby markets, restaurants, and bars for entertainment. If you plan to venture out, you can take your car, city bus or taxi five minutes down the road for some lobster in Puerto Nuevo. The motel owners/operators, Robert, Russell & family are the most caring, down to Earth, quality people that you will ever meet. I always look forward to my next trip there!

Roberts is a great spot for a mini surf vacation. Two world class breaks are right out in front of the motel. Russ and his team provide great customer service, clean rooms, and affordable rates. There are a few restaurants right up the street to grab a quick bite between surf sessions. I will definitely be back.

I absolutely love k38!Robert and his brother are amazing hosts, I always get a room here when I go visit down there. Great spot, close to everything you need yet secluded enough to feel like a local and not a tourist. Lol secret spot thays not so secret anymore yet they still keep their humble rates and welcoming vibes.. Love them and can't wait to stay there soon!

We had an awesome time here. Room 5 was clean and simple with hot water for after the surf and really warm blankets for the cold nights. There was Ping pong, a ring game, and a bunch of chairs for lounging in the common area day or night. Giant Fire pit with wood for $10 was awesome.
Superb fish taco shop next door that's dirt cheap where you can watch the lady hand batter each piece of fish and cut up everything for the pico de Gallo.
The liquor/general store on the other side of the river had good prices for beer and chips and the owner was super helpful. He even let us know about a special that was running that saved us money on beer. Super friendly employees, most spoke English, and they were super gracious when I tried using my broken Spanish.
Definitely going back for a south swell!

Had a great time. Robert was a great host to us. Enjoyed the surf that's within walking distance and the food spots nearby. Played ping pong and had access to eating utensils for making our PB&J sandwiches!

It's a great place if you respect the locals clean up after yourself and don't bring a crowd!

5 stars is for the overall experience. Don't expect a five star resort. It's Baja. Robert took me i. Like family, the surf was superb and local eateries were hole-in-the-wall top notch!

Lovely hotel, very welcoming staff and awesome location if you like to splash around on a surf board!

We did not stay but Russ helps us and allowed us to park for a small fee. Cool place safe and easy to find.
