Hotel Riu Vallarta

What a wonderful place for a family vacation! We stayed there for a week and it was so good. All the staff were so kind and friendly. Tony was the best. The bald guy working the front desk was also very nice. He did everything, from working the front desk to performing in the evening overall such a good guy. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a place for a family vacation.

This is an amazing all-inclusive. We really love this company, they have resorts all over the world. Everyone is so friendly and willing to give advice on what to do if you want to leave the resorts. They also make sure you have everything you need. There are so many restaurants, pools, bars, alcohol, amazing food, and a great way to spend a vacation!

We just got back from Riu Vallarta. I was happy with service, food and different activities they provided for adults and kids.
My kids had a blast there. Workers are friendly, they tried their best to make you feel welcomed and assisted. Cleaners do a great job in keeping your room and other common areas clean. You see them often cleaning and sweeping or mopping.
The food was really good. We only went to the main buffet because they have many options for everyone in the family. Every night they have a different special food event at the buffet at dinner.
We def would go back there!

Just got back from a trip here with my boyfriend and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect as it was my first time going all inclusive, but I’m so happy this was my first place! The room was amazing and so was the service. My boyfriend has a severe peanut allergy and the staff were very accommodating with this, which was amazing. The food we found at the buffet was hit or miss but it was all generally pretty good! Definitely give all the other restaurants a try as the service was quick, friendly, and the options were delicious.

All of the staff were amazing! Entertainment team members were so fun! Riuland was awesome for our kids. Went to the Neon party and saw our favourite staff from the Riu Palace where we stayed the year before. Nothing negative to say other than there needed to be more places to hang wet swimming gear.

My first time abroad from the UK and what a beautiful place. Rooms spotless the cleaners do a fantastic job. Outside the activity staff have good customer skills engaging with everyone. Food overall had a wonderful selection, but As a vegetarian there was a small section but I still ate. Was really lucky as never had a race for sunbeds there was always a good selection even at 10am there was loads left. My only issue my room was on the lower floors and so many people from the rooms above smoking! (Even though banned) and throwing their cigarette ends over the balcony and landing onto mine. Not the best waking up to find 10+ on your balcony I reported the issue to reception but no sorry or action was taken

Had a wonderful family vacation here! Truly cannot say anything bad. The food was always good and plentiful, changed each day but there was always something for everyone. Staff were so kind and eager to please. The entertainment staff deserve an award for all that they do, truly amazing. Foam party was a blast for all ages. Rooms were clean and well stocked. I would recommend downloading the RIU app..it was so helpful. Will return!

Absolutely beautiful loaction! Staff were extremely friendly! The food was to die for, extremely fresh ingredients. The rooms are clean with the great views of the sunset. Multiple pools to pick from. Daily entertainment. I couldn't have stayed at a better resort! My fiance and I even got engaged on their beach! 11.17.23!

Loved my stay here! The grounds were immaculate, the food was delicious, the pools were clean and never felt too busy. The shows and entertainment was so good, the staff here work so so so hard to entertain guests. Our room was nice and spacious, with an amazing view. My only complaint is that they filled the drink fridge only once in 7 days. The adjoining room had their drinks refilled a few times. Maybe a mistake, I'm not sure. But other than that little oversight, everything was perfect. I'd absolutely choose Riu Vallarta again.

Posting another review as we are at RV presently, Nov 5-19, 2023. RV didn’t disappoint us, it is simply the best hotel. Check in went smoothly. I wanted another room and they tried hard to accommodate my request. I got the room I wanted. The grounds as I mentioned in previous review are gorgeous. The food absolutely excellent- the variety, the quality and the presentation. The room - renovated a few years ago, very clean. The staff - amazing, they work hard to treat guests like royalty.
My big thank you to Cynthia a front desk, Jessy at breakfast and lunch, and Omar at dinner. You are the best servers🤩
Entertainment is great too.
We’ll be back many times.

My husband and I are both African with dark skin, this vacation was very nice and we were very happy with the food and services from all staff. They are friendly and accommodating also the resort of very clean, washrooms and all public areas are very clean, we were very comfortable staying there and we would book to come back again hopefully in two years..

1–Only warnings are- when you arrive at the airport the tourist guiders at the airport will draw you in to talk to you for almost 20 mins so you miss the bus to the hotel than you would have to take a taxi even though they say you don’t have to pay the taxi driver you would still tip them which is a way for them to get business for the taxi driver.

2– second warning is if you decide to go on a tour around, you get on the city tours bus they have someone there taking pictures of you without your consent, and if you want the photos sent to you, you would have to pay them and they don’t even sent the photos to you.

All was great, it was safe and I would recommend family trips with kids because they are also kids friendly.

No room service, no q-tips at the little shop. Pools are very busy here and warm . The beach is clean, but not the cleanest. So many weddings at this place, which brings huge crowds. Gets annoying. Vendors at the beach as well so bring extra spending cash. There is an ATM available...
Customer service is phenomenal. Many Americans, Canadians & people from Europe. Hardly any Mexican families. I felt like I was at the east coast of Mexico. I heard mostly English and French spoken here... definitely not staying here again because of how far it is from town and I didn't feel like I was in Mexico when at the resort. I've stayed closer to town many times and it's so much better and convenient. No complaints though.

We stayed for a wedding, very clean, friendly staff, and very nice food choices with 3 restaurants, and one revolving buffet. Lots of space on the beach and 3 large pools with kids areas to play as well. Loved our stay!

First time at an all inclusive as we usually cruise. Must say I was very impressed with this resort. Friendly and helpful staff. Pools and beach within the resort were great. Rooms spacious and clean. No hesitation in recommending Riu Vallarta !

It was my first time at an all-inclusive resort so I didn't know what to expect. The staff was nothing short of amazing and inviting. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. I was a little disappointed by the first come first serve steak house but had excellent meals throughout the rest of the property. It would be nice if there were more bathrooms located throughout the property.
Wheelchair (not for me) access is available but inconvenient location of the ramp put you on opposite side of all the dining rooms.
I wish it was closer to shopping and night life as $50 USD cab fair one way is a little much.
The kids RiuLand looks much larger in pictures and really wasn't that impressive.
Overall I really enjoyed my vacation and was able to spend time with my family.

Last March we stayed at the Hotel Riu Emerald Bay. We had an amazing time. The hotel was very clean, the staff were wonderful. The food was great with a huge variety. We went to stone island on a small boat, walked around the small villages and enjoyed the food they served. The shrimp was amazing. Our room was behind the elevator so it was quiet with a great view. We are packing our bags for Riu Puerto Vallarta. See you in two weeks.

Our stay at the RIU Vallarta was wonderful! The rooms were nice and clean. My only complaint was that the beds were a little too firm for my liking, otherwise no complaints. One night the TV stopped working and another night the WiFi wasn't working. I put in maintenance requests on the RIU app and within a couple of hours, the issues were resolved. We were even given a bottle of champaign after our second maintenance request which was quite nice.

The restaurants have a nice variety of foods and you can get food from somewhere pretty much any time of the day. The Sports Bar has a selection of snacks available 24/7 if needed. The supper restaurants are quite nice, but for the most part they are all buffet. The Italian restaurant has a buffet for the appetizer and dessert, then the main meal is off of a menu. The Steak House is completely off of a menu and is quite nice, but there is always a line up of people waiting to reserve a spot around 5:00pm, so make sure are there waiting if you would like to eat there one night.

The entertainment was really great! We got quite used to the schedule of doing bingo, then some sort of trivia game, followed by a show of some sort. The first night was all Madonna covers and the third night was a Michael Jackson impresonater which was spot on!

We do not have kids, but there are a ton of things available for kids to do and mant kids club activities that parents can leave the kids at so they can get some time alone.

There were many bars and many pools, tons of space for everywhere without feeling crowded or overwhelmed.

Aquasize and Zumba at the beach were so much fun!

The resort is extremely clean. There are always numerous housekeeping staff around cleaning something. They even have someone mopping the pool deck all day to keep it free of sand and dirt.

Great hotel recently updated. 5 restaurants with no booking requirement. 4 pools one with a swim up bar. Bars also include branded drinks, service was good. Located on long sandy beach which is home to turtles. Good WiFi with no dead area's.

Service was great and amazing atmosphere. Staff were extremely knowledgeable about things to do in the area as well. Family friendly with adult only areas. Didn't notice many children at all. Highly recommend staying here.

This was our second Riu property to stay in as many years. Like our earlier stay in Riu, Los Cabos, our stay here was memorable and very enjoyable.

We found the staff to be very friendly, well trained and coordinated.

The food in each and every outlet was great (though their attempts at mastering Asian and Indian cuisine were not up to the mark).

The bars were all manned by cheerful and friendly bartenders who were extremely efficient with their concoctions.

The entire property is very well maintained and tidy. The staff do a great job at keeping the property clean around the clock.

I have deducted 1 star from the rooms section due to improper water pressure and inconsistent water temperature from the faucets and shower wands. Also, the bathrooms lacked desired toiletries like conditioners and lotions (which are available even in lower rated properties). Considering that Riu claims to be a 5 star property - these items should be available (and as far as I can remember, Riu, Los Cabos, did feature them).
