Hotel Catedral

We stayed about ten days and were totally satisfied. Not only the service is excellent, but also the location very convenient. The staffs are very welcome with good services. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Only the receptionist at night shift when we departed rarely this morning was unnecessary grumpy. The room and Hotel is clean and nice. Smells good too. The free water and coffee, tea is very appeciated.and the quiet roof terrasse is definitely a nice feature. I recommend this Hotel and definitely be back when i visit Mexico City again.

The hotel staff greeted us warmly, offering refreshing water, coffee/tea, delightful guava, and cookies before our check-in. Their genuine enthusiasm to ensure every guest's satisfaction was evident. The hotel restaurant was truly impressive, offering fantastic food at an excellent price. Overall, my experience with this hotel and its service was wonderfully memorable.

Hotel Catedral was a very welcoming, comfortable place for the nine days of our stay in Mexico City in Feb 2024. Most of the staff we encountered spoke excellent English (important for American travelers with only a smattering of Spanish between them) and everyone we encountered was helpful. We arrived quite late in the evening, and the staff made sure we were secured in our (quiet, comfortable) room, and let us know that room service was available even if the kitchen was closed.

The location is perfect for exploring CDMX, with more museums, shops, and sights within walking distance than anywhere else we've ever stayed. We easily booked a tour to Teotihuacan through the concierge, and she carefully explained the differences between the different tours to help us decide.

We stayed on the 7th floor, right next to the terrace, and spent many evenings out there enjoying the skyline (see photo) over a glass of wine. Speaking of wine, we picked up full bottles from the hotel bar for very reasonable prices. Both terraces are clean, comfortable spaces filled with lovely flowers (and even strawberries).

We did not opt in for the buffet, but instead ordered from the menu at breakfast. Everything was obviously prepared by people who appreciate the culinary arts: delicious, inspired, and beautifully presented.

From the snacks and fruit offered in the lobby, to the welcoming "Buenos Dias" from all of the staff, to the meticulous care taken in our room, we truly felt like appreciated guests.

We really enjoyed our five nights here in January 2024. The staff were exceptionally helpful, professional and pleasant to speak with. The Hotel Catedral offers more than just accomodation. They really are "full travel facilitators".

We loved the roof top terrace for early morning sunrises. Complementary coffee and tea were available early mornings and throughout the day.

The adjacent restaurant offered great breakfasts and dinners that were convenient and well prepared.

The location could not have been better being within a very short walking distance of the zocozlo, main plaza and many interesting museums and historic sites.

We look forward to staying here again.

It was excellent and very clean. Their staffs were very helpful and polite. You would not regret it. Also their breakfast was very good and worth the money.

We selected this hotel because of the price and good reviews, we do not regret it! The location is amazing, very close to the zocalo square, bellas artes, templo mayor and many other highlights in the historical center. You can book the hotel with breakfast included, I recommend it, they have variety and is a good price. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They helped to order a taxi to the airport since our check out was very early (around 3am)

Hotel located in 10 mins walk from Zocalo and all the shops and restaurans. Rooms are clean, have a balcony and coffee machine. Good WIFI in the rooms and restaurant.
Restaurant have a good prices and food.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, great value for money.
It was my 2nd stay in this hotel and defintely will come back again.

The young lady at the front desk was very accommodating, great location very clean rooms , it was a good experience. I would come back the cathedral is close lots of nice things to see

It is an older hotel but nicely maintained. staff was excellent! Helpful and courteous. The 7th floor terrace was charming. Buffet breakfast dishes change daily. Delicious! Beds were super comfortable. Most of the staff speak English. We ate dinner in the restaurant one night. Good price and good food!
ONE NEGATIVE --
If you are sensitive to fragrance odors this is not the place for you. Air fresheners seem to be used everywhere and it makes the air heavy sweet. I hope in the future they have fragrance free rooms and that the lobby is not so heavily scented too

Very warm and welcoming staff. Location is ideal for those wanting to explore the historic center. The building is a little older, but very clean and well-maintained. They do speak English. They were also nice enough to hold our bags after the 1:30 check-out time.

Customer service is exceptional. Staff was helpful, friendly and courteous. The continental breakfast was delicious and exceeded the expectation of any continental breakfast. Location is phenomenal. The rooms are comfortable. The most outstanding part of the stay was staff. The staff went above and beyond.
I want to say a special thank you to Lupita, our room cleaning lady of the 6th floor, she really went the extra mile with her attention and outstanding.
Also being thankful with the owner that’s always checking that the hotel runs smoothly.

- my second time visiting. This hotel and their staff go million miles above and beyond! I did not even look elsewhere and with a heart beat would come back here again!

One of the best hotels I've been. From a service perspective they deserve 10 out of 5! Staff kind and helpful.
The breakfast was fantastic. The food in lobby (sweets, fruits, coffee/tea) made you feel welcome. Location cannot be any better, right next to Zocalo and public transport.
They have a rooftop patio which overlooks the city and the cathedral (hence the hotel name). Awesome view at night.
We stayed at 2 separate rooms. The first one on 3rd floor was not renovated and did not look very nice. The second room on 7th floor (705) was renovated and lux. However our 7th floor room was next to elevator and stairs which "staff" used and it was very noisy and staff were loud and not considerate that guests were sleeping, especially in the morning. But since the hotel staff were so helpful and accommodating in every way, that did not affect our experience much.
Overall great hotel and would definitely recommend and come back.

The hotel was great. Amazing breakfast that goes until 11am and has so many options that you can do lunch (they had pasta, vegetables etc). Free bottled water, as well as coffee + tea and some snacks in the reception 24/7. Room was good, big bed and awesome view of the city in our room and in the rooftop. VERY close to the cathedral and center of the city. Bathroom was kind of old and had a weird smell sometimes.

Luis Angel received us with a smile, always there to answer any questions we might had, very friendly and serviceable. I would recommend this hotel without a doubt. Rooms were cleaned and the restaurant food was good, I would recommend the sopa Azteca, very delicious 😋

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. This hotel is a block away from the Zocolo in the center of Mexico City. If possible, I would try to get a room on the seventh floor. We had a private terrace with great views. Staff was very kind and helpful. We didn't try the restaurant but it also looked very good.

I wish I could give it more stars. I've stayed at similarly priced hotels and this is by far the best. Quiet rooms, great shower and a wonderful balcony. I will always stay here on my trips to Mexico city.

Very nice, reasonably priced hotel with friendly staff. Very close to the Zocalo plaza where there is always much activity. Unlimited purified bottled water is available to guests at all times. Luis, the front door porter was always very helpful and accomodating.
The staff was very hospitable. It's a great hotel at a great location. I would definitely stay again.

We had a great experience staying at this hotel for three nights. The room was clean and spacious. Great friendly service from hotel employees. Delicious buffet with good variety of foods. They offer complimentary water, tea, coffee, cookies, fruits throughout the day which was fantastic.
The rooms of the upper floors are renovated but I would suggest you stay away from 7th floor if you are sensitive to noise and smell; there is a lot of noise in 7th floor early in the morning and late at night due to a part of the kitchen and housekeeping being located at roof top.
Other than that we enjoyed our stay there.
