The Garden Café

I think this shop is the one and only one good taste and good place in Mingun region.There is no restaurant for foreign tourist in this place before.This shop is opened three years before .but shop will close in rainy season because this shop is located on riverside.
Toilets also clean . MYANMAR beer also available and coffee also good.
Staffs are very good and quick response.
I very satisfied with this shop.

Cofee, juice and food here was our highlight of Mingun trip:-), excellent taste of chicken skewer, best fresh juices we had in Myanmar and very good cappuccino, makes this small piece of gem something you should not miss. Everything was so clean and peaceful in their wonderful garden! Cleanest toilets probably in whole Myanmar :-). If you have some time before the boat is leaving back to Mandalay, go there and try both, drinks and food.

I’d like to deduct 1 star for the slooooow service! But by far the best food in Mandalay and then there’s this beach my view, so all the five stars!

5 min walk from the pagoda, across the bell, walk down to the river beach and voila, find yourself a comfy table under the shade in a beautiful garden.
Yes, there is great food here, moderate to slightly higher prices, but it’s worth the effort they put in to set this up! Check out the pics and let me know if you could give this a pass!

This little gem is a must go when you visit Mingun. The set menu is great, every ingredient is super fresh, vegetables are taken from the own garden and the view is relaxing. The service is very friendly and it makes you wanna stay there forever.

Tucked at the end of a street, near the river, this place is a hidden gem! A lot of options to eat and drink and snack on, sitting in a cool shade of the trees. Cute little dog might chew on your shoes from time to time. The family who runs this is very kind and helpful.

Lovely place right by the river to stop and cool off and have a smoothie after seeing the sights in the town. Beautiful setting in a garden overlooking the river and a few vegetable fields. Was extra special watching the ladies harvesting peanuts along the river! Good price considering the location and atmosphere.

Delicious, refreshing food with a wonderful atmosphere and a great price! This is a must stop in Min Gun to enjoy the river, good food, and a cold drink. The French owners get cheese shipped in from Yangon and they make their own incredible homemade bread. We really enjoyed our time there and were grateful for the reasonable prices that even us backpackers could afford and the wonderful staff! They were so sweet and helpful. We ate our food too fast to even take a picture of it, but all of the BBQ items were amazing especially the sauce that comes with them.

Follow the signs from the main road, and you will end up in this little paradise. French owner, who makes the best thick cut chips and delicious home made bread. Purely awesome.

Great place hidden inside small garden close to the river. Professional english speaking staff. I was testing their brand new menu there. So delicious. Highly recommended.

Excellent coffee of Myanmar, top service and nice place! I also really recommand you to have the fried bananas. Let's have a break there during your visit of Min Gun. Bon appétit.

One of the best food experiences in Myanmar to date. The restaurante should actually be called "The Secret Garden". It is somehow hidden from the main street and as per name features a large sitting area outdoors (only) overlooking the river. It is surrounded by trees so you will have shade any time of the day.
Had the chicken skewers, samosas, vegetable tempura and amazing fresh fruit juices. Finished with the signature café and can say everything was perfect (would only have skipped the vegetables tempura as it ended up being too big and I took it mainly as curiosity).

Definitely the place to eat in the town. Very good food (both western and local) with good drinks and service and a very relaxed location along the river. The view is beautiful and this place is a must if you get hungry.

Excellent food, good service and great location . Would be a great brunch place if one didn't have to pay 5000 to go through the archeological site.
Perhaps there could be a way for Mandalay based foreigners to bypass the archeological part and just spend time at the Garden?

Its an onlyone cozy and cool coffee shop.

The outdoor seats are next from the beach.
The sea breeze will seduce you to sleep after you drunk the coffee.

The hot latte coffee is good smell and taste.
The lime soda is only lemon with soda. I added some sugar syrup to make it better.

Ill be back again.

Amazing Oasis in Mingun! Great staff, delicious food, beautiful place, best toilets in the country... A pity I had to catch back my boat and couldn't spend a couple of hours here!

Fantastic place! If i'll find the same in Mandalay i will go there everyday. Absolutely must if you have at least 30 minutes before boat goes back

Amazing place. Peaceful garden with riverview, away from traffic. Food is excellent (the croque monsieur is to die for!) and very reasonably priced.

Really a cosy place,have a nice sence with nature surroundings and also birds’ twitters

Favorite cafe in Myanmar - great views, great food and very friendly staff. Had a very relaxing time!
