Hsinbyume Pagoda (Myatheindan Pagoda)

It takes approximately 1hr 15mins to get here by car from Mandalay downtown. We were quoted 120,000K for two way saloon car transport by our hotel, but managed to find someone who did it for 50,000K.

You'd want to do this together with the nearby attractions such as the Mingun Bell. Our driver dropped us off at the pagoda, and we spent 1.5hrs enjoying it and strolling back down while seeing the bell, two lions and browsing some stalls along the way.

Definitely worth the short trip out from the city.

If you ever do a self drive, be careful as roads are small and flanked by homes. Our driver nearly hit a young girl who carelessly and very suddenly ran across the road!

Mya Thein Tan is a distinctive whitewashed pagoda that was built in the early nineteenth century to honor the memory of a princess who had died during childbirth. Its architecture differs from that of many pagodas in Myanmar. Rising gradually in seven levels, it evokes the shape and form of a mythical mountain pagoda. Go around the building to get a feel of its circular shape. Climb up the 7 levels to get various perspectives and angles that will delight and satisfy your photographic aspirations.

Must see place in Min Gun. Beautiful and amazing ancient art can be seen. You can also take great photos with your phone by local professional kid cameramen there. Just give them small tips.

Quick tip: the best pic comes from not the main entrance but a few clicks to the left, at one of the side entrances. There’s some local kids here, trained very well to take all the best pics at this astonishing site. They enjoy clicking you and advise on where how to pose, it’s fun :) they dint expect any tip, but a meagre act of gratitude would do.
Now make the climb, there’s a big platform at the top level, worth circumventing, and spending some time. There’s no entry ticket again, I mean there is no pass, no one checks, incase someone does, just buy on the spot, but I didn’t spot any checker and didn’t even find a ticket window.
How to reach: take the yangon ferry cheap and good frequency, it’s a 5 min walk from the ferry point. The route via road is long, bumpy, not a good idea to self-drive/ride, we took a cab because i was terribly under the weather.
Done with the visit, head to the garden cafe, dine besides the river, it’s beautiful, but you would need time and patience they are a wee bit too slow

This is not your ordinary golden pagoda but a shining white beacon in the sun.
The various walkways and stairs up and around make it more playful and ideal for photo shoots.

It must be considered as a white jewel of Upper Myanmar💎.The design of the pagoda is also the most beautiful I have ever seen...must-visit place if you are visiting Myanmar 🇲🇲.

A completely white temple on the bank of the Irrawaddy river. It is a different design I never see before. on the upper floor you can see far view of different directions. I like to see this again.

Probably my favourite pagoda in northern Myanmar. When we arrived they charged us the tourist fee which was expected and then put a sticker on our tops. The place is stunning and I felt like I was the only one there until I went to the top and realised there were more people!

Hsinbyume Pagoda (White Pagoda) are located in Mingun province (1,5 hours riding from Mandalay to Mingun). Entrance fee 50000 Kyat/person. too hot when I arrived there (abt 1 PM), better go there in the morning / evening. You can borrow an ethnic umbrela for your photo property. Many local people offering to take photo with some fees.

Nice pagoda - quite different from most other pagodas in Myanmar given its shape and also its color. I was told by a local guide that they put a fresh paint once a year to keep it that white.

Little bit far from Center of Mandalay. But it is worth to come here, beautiful place. Nice view from the top, many amazing spot for nice photo

This place is awesome it’s looks like the Taj Mahal, very beautiful and the white is extreme shiny in the sun.

Beautiful pagoda, definitely worth seeing especially cause doesn't look like any other. Got there late afternoon (4/7pm) and wasn't crowded at all. Nice view from the top.

This pagoda’s architecture is different than others which we makes it interesting to see. It’s all white with many stupas surrounding it. It’s my favourite of the three big sights in Min Kun and worth taking the ferry over for the morning.

This Pagoda is the most beautiful pagoda in the Mandalay area and even Bagan. Other than Mingun, there is not much to see in Mandalay area. I would recommend just to visit the Hsinbyume and the unfinished pagodas and then head for Bagan.

Super hot and my feet feel like about to burn since need to left shoes outside.The place is so beautiful.It's worth it.Bring Umbrella and lot of water.don't wear black clothes on very hot day

Beautiful structure made entirely of white bricks. Once inside, there’s a further climb of steep steps which takes you on top and give a good view of Min Kun. From there you can also see the Stupa and loads of greenery.
