Onja Surf Camp

Hands down, our joint favourite accommodation during out 3 month stay in Madagascar! Excellent value for money (bungalow/food).

Charles, Mimi and the rest of the family warmly welcomed us from the start and treated us so kindly throughout our stay which we extended to 17 nights in the end.

The location is just slightly off the main road, so in an nice quiet area, surrounded by trees and fields. But still close enough to the restaurants/street food stalls and shops and about a 5 min walk down to the beach.

Our little bungalow was cosy, spacious and very clean!

Mimi's food was delicious; we ate here almost every night and most mornings too! She catered to me being a veggie.

We rented surf boards and gave it a go at a location with good waves!! We also kayaked down the river which was delightful!

Highly recommend here - a local, relaxed vibe with kind hosts!

We stayed here for a long weekend after a friend of ours had visited and recommended we returned with - it did not disappoint at all!

There is a walk to the beach which had great surf. The walk there is equally beautiful and you can have a wonderful outdoor shower to cool off when you return back to the surf camp.

The food is incredible and they will host to all your dietary needs. Couldn't have been with the service!

There were two bungalows when we visited which were perfect for what we were looking for. Simple, clean and beds fitted with mosquito nets.

If you are looking for a chill getaway with some fun surfing, great food and lovely hosts, this is the place for you!!

Highly recommend the kayaking trip.

Lots of mid to short and couple of foamy boards for you to use at the camp. The chief is great and will cook a range of good food from locally sourced fish to your every desire.

The vibe is friendly, welcoming and chilled! Perfect for catching waves and relaxing!

Hôtes, Charles et Mimi très sympathique. Bungalow impeccable à l'ombre sous les arbres donc toujours un peu de fraîcheur même lorsqu'il fait très chaud. Très bons plats préparer par Mimi. Surtout le canard à la vanille 😉

Endroit propre et calme.
Service impécable et les proprietaires sont vraiment acceuillants et gentilles.
Les nourritures étaient délicieuses et abordables, on s‘est bien regalé avec les Langoustes grillés.
Biensûr we come back again!!

Un lieu accueillant et reposant à 2 min à pied de la jolie plage de mahambo et à quelques mètres des commerces (restaurant, épicerie...).
Les lodges sont neufs et confortables (1 lit double, 1 lit simple une salle de bain et une terrasse) et implantés dans un bel espace arboré.
Les hôtes sont charmants et le service aux petits oignons ! (j'ai adoré la randonnée dans les hauteurs de tanambaza avec vue sur mer et la balade en canoë).
A refaire en famille
