Laguna Blu - Resort Madagascar

👌Hands down the BEST accommodation experience we had during our three weeks travel in Madagascar 🇲🇬! After coming from the infamous Hotel Kanto in Manja, this was truly a great reward. We had the whole resort for ourselves - low season perks!

Location📍: Located slightly elevated on a cliff, you enjoy a magnificent view over the ocean, including breath-taking sunsets 🌇. It is far from any major village (except a fisher village close by). Hence, you will spend your days likely in the resort.

Design: Rooms as well as common areas/amenities are top-notch! The architect/designer had a true eye for details and individual charme. Outstanding! The outdoor shower 🚿 is a great experience.

Food 🦞🦀🦐🐟 : The best food we had during our stay in Madagascar. No wonder one might say since the Italien owner is also the chef - outstanding seafood (lobster, shrimps, fish) guaranteed.

Value for money 💵: Bungalow price was very reasonable during low-season with a high value for money. Food prices are higher compared to other places in Madagascar, though the price is justified - hands down the best gustatory experience we had in Madagascar 🇲🇬.

Service 👩🏽‍💼 👨‍💼: The resort is managed by a lovely older Italian couple that is supported by local staff - they all do an outstanding job! Chapeau! 🎩

Fazit: Best place we stayed in Madagascar. Highly recommend it to all travelers who are on their way from Tulear to Morondava or vice versa.

I've been here 6 times and I love it. Simple and crafty decoration. Run by an italian couple, Laguna Blue is the best option to stay in the region. With delicious food cooked with love, good italian expressos, amazing views and comfy beds in private rooms with open ceiling hot+fresh water showers. It is a hidden gem! Perfect place to "escape" from the chaos and the rice+beans Malagasy diet. A most visit. Rooms can be booked on their own, + breakfast or + meals. You delicide! Contact them and they'll sort you out. Quiet, peaceful and full of love and care.

They also sale artisanal products such as jewelry or bags.

It is better to BOOK IN ADVANCE and also CHECK IF THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS, or you'll need to bring cash along.

We stayed at Laguna Blu and while our accommodations were great and the food was really good our driver guide did not have the same experience. Most accommodations in Madagascar will provide a bed and food for you driver guide. Which they did provide a bed but no blanket or anything to keep warm with and told them they had to walk to town which wasn't close to get food. Just didn't seem like the right way to treat someone.

A clear 5/5 with the pictures not doing justice to the incredible placement of the hotel. The rooms also look better than the pictures with the exterior shower being a welcomed perk after a long ride in the sand to get there. We ate the best food on the island cooked by the lovely Italian hosts. They were so sweet and welcoming that I felt they were my adoptive family.

This was probably the best stay we recently had during our 24 days in Madagascar. We loved the setting, the attention to details, the large common & dining area. The bungalow was flawless and we almost couldn`t believe the amazing seafood dinner we were served in such a remote setting. We would have loved to spend more time here.

We stayed at Laguna Blu for 2 nights and had one of the best stays in Madagascar. The hosts were super hospitable and attentive to any of our needs and requests, they welcomed us with open arms, smiles and the best catering and Italian food cousine we've experienced on the island. It's been the amazing views but especially the warm attentive attitude of the hosts and 2 cute dogs that made our stay so memorable. Thank you!

Amazing place! The second you walk in you are overwhelmed with the beauty and class of this place. The view is breathtaking, the rooms are beautiful (with the outdoor shower an awesome touch), the food is delicious and the owners are really kind and accommodating. Wish we had more time here, highly recommend!

The beach and the views are increadible, snorkelling trip recommended(with a surprise)

Wonderful place.
Emanuela and Ernesto are very kind and hospitable. We felt at home from the first day.
Emanuela is a careful mistress, and Ernesto is an excellent chef, we tried local food and always fresh stuff. Bungalows are spacious, bright, with a nice "open air" bathroom. The place is quiet, it allows you to relax. It is possible with a "pyroga" to reach the bay of the assassins, nosy AO and take a zebu cart to get to the baobab forest. WiFi is available in the central hall and with an extra in the rooms, but it is recommended to enjoy the place without distractions.

Un paradiso!!!! Come dicono i proprietari :" entri da ospite, partita da amico". Lo chef è spettacolare. L'accoglienza meravigliosa e ti fanno veramente sentire coccolati.

Wir waren dort eine Woche in unseren Flitterwochen und haben es sehr genossen!
Bei Ankunft wurden wir herzlich in Empfang genommen, haben ein Getränk bekommen und unsere Koffer wurden zu unserem Bungalow gebracht.
Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Die Außendusche war ein Highlight! Warmes Wasser und Strom gab es jederzeit, was nicht selbstverständlich ist auf Madagaskar.
Das Essen ist eine absolute Empfehlung! Ernesto zaubert jeden Tag aus frischem Fisch ein exzellentes Essen! Italienische Küche mit malagassischem Einfluss.
Es wurden verschiedene Ausflüge angeboten. Wir haben uns für einen Schnorchelausflug entschieden und sind mit Pirogen um eine kleine Insel herumgefahren worden und hatten dort Zeit zum Baden.
Der Ausblick vom Bungalow ist super schön! Die Sonnenuntergänge kann man super betrachten. Am Strand kann man gut spazieren gehen und ist meist für sich.
Das Hotel ist eine absolute Empfehlung!☺

Un luogo paradisiaco. Incastonata in una baia esclusiva, l’arrivo in questo resort dona un’accoglienza oltre qualsiasi aspettativa, ricompensando di gran lunga i kilometri fatti per giungere sin qui. Il laguna blu si trova infatti lungo la strada che porta da Morondava a Tulear, e dopo tanti luoghi adattati spalanca le porte ad una cucina oltre qualsiasi attesa grazie a Ernesto, chef ineccepibile, ed all’accoglienza avvolgente di Emanuela. Assieme donano il privilegio di sentirsi a casa nonostante ci si trovi a distanza miliare dalla propria. I bungalow con la doccia maldiviana con acqua calda e scrosciante, la pulizia minuziosa, i materassi comodissimi favoriscono il rilassamento.
Abbiamo deciso di prolungare la permanenza, il giorno stesso in cui siamo arrivate e non ci sono stati problemi ad organizzare in ogni caso un soggiorno straordinario .
Che dire…grazie infinite! Non vediamo l’ora di tornare!

Un posto del cuore in cui una sosta di almeno due giorni è d’obbligo. Ogni dettaglio nei bungalow e nel ristorante è curato con amore e la cucina, ovviamente, è imperdibile. Grazie mille della vostra accoglienza, ci è sembrato si essere a casa. A presto!

Dopo 6 ore di pista che sembra non terminare mai, siamo arrivati al Laguna blù. Immediatamente abbiamo avuto la sensazione che ne era valsa la pena. Il posto è veramente magnifico e la struttura si inserisce perfettamente nell'ambiente: un sistema di dune costiere. I bungalow, tutti vicinissimi al mare, sono arredati semplicemente, ma dotati di ogni confort; magnifico il bagno, parzialmente all'aperto, che da la possibilità di una fantastica doccia sotto un magico cielo stellato. Una menzione particolare alla cucina dove, grazie allo chef Ernesto, abbiamo gustato gustosissimi manicaretti (aragoste, gamberi, ostriche, cernie, carne di zebù...), un perfetto mix tra ricette locali e tradizioni italiane. Complimenti ai proprietari, Manuela ed Ernesto, che hanno avuto la capacità di creare un ambiente così amichevole, da farci sentire come persone di famiglia.
PS: Da fare assolutamente l'escursione in piroga alla vicina isola.

Une plage de sables blanc très fins, une mer turquoise, des Rochers creusés par le ressac, un vrai paysage de carte postale.
Emmanuella la sympathique propriétaire est au petits soins et l'équipe est à l'écoute de tous nos besoins.

Un véritable paradis! J'ai passé des vacances fantastiques, l'endroit est magique et les gens sont adorables. La plage, les poissons, les animaux, la nature et les paysages sont tout simplement à couper le souffle. A l’hôtel j'ai particulièrement apprécié la vue (surtout la nuit, je n'avais jamais vu un ciel étoilé comme celui-là) et le restaurant, la nourriture sur l'ile est vraiment délicieuse, spécialement pour les amateurs de poissons et de crustacés. J'en garderai un souvenir impérissable!

Des kilomètres de piste sans trop savoir où l'on va et au bout du périple, après quelques heures de 4X4, comme par magie, un hôtel magnifique posé sur le sable en bordure de mer nous ouvre les bras. Bâtiment principal (accueil, restaurant) splendide à l'architecture tout à fait adaptée au paysage. Des bungalows en dur offrant des prestations de qualité, une salle de bain extérieure conçue avec élégance. Une décoration parfaite. Un charme exotique pour toute ces structures. Un restaurant offrant des mets de qualité et de fraîcheur et un petit déjeuner copieux, avec en prime, une vue magnifique sur le front de mer. Des propriétaires avenants, courtois, disponibles et qui nous font comprendre à quel point ils aiment ce qu'ils font et ce qu'ils se sont donnés les moyens de créer dans ce petit coin de Paradis. Avons passé de merveilleux instants et nous vous souhaitons toute la réussite possible pour la suite de cette aventure.
La Vendée et la Bretagne sont heureux de s'être arrêtés chez vous.
