Reserve Reniala

This reserve is full of Baobab Trees 🌲 - We got to see a massive 1200 year old Baobab tree in Ifaty's Spiny Forrest. These towering trees with a massive circumference are truly fascinating!

The baobab, also called “reniala” (“mother of the forest”) in Malagasy, is a 100% secular Malagasy tree. There are eight species on earth and six of them are endemic to the island. The baobab constitutes an important reserve of water which allows it to tolerate extreme climatic conditions.

Majestic Baobab Trees. Very interesting circuit with a lot to see. Worth a visit when you're in Mangily, especially if you can't manage it to the Baobab Avenue near Morondova.

Entrance fee 10.000 Ar pP, Guide fee 20.000 Ar (total).
Don't take the offer from the fisherman at the beach, they don't take you inside the reserve.

Really nice park that's definitely worth a visit but beware all the fake and scam parks along the way. Ignore all the guys sitting in rickety stands on the main road who will yell out to you how you need a ticket first and tell you they are with the official reserve and have official tickets and so on. They are not. It is a scam. Just ignore those scumbags, turn right off the main road and walk to the very end where there's a (green, as I recall) gate with a sign on it. Once you get there it'll be clear you're there and that the others were pure scams and it suddenly looks proper and legitimate and they give you a receipt and so on. A pleasant maybe 10 minutes' walk from the main road, past a school, past some weird Vampires of Jehovah or whatever, past some other fake parks.

A wonderful place to see the local vegetation including Baobab trees and others. A great place to see unique birds that live in the region. The guides are experts in finding them...

Attention to these two cheaters. They pretend to be village guides. 50-year-old father and 20-year-old son (red pants and colored shorts in the photo) promise you to show you the lemurs make you pay 50 000 ariary and then hello they let you down to two little boys and you won't see any lemurs 😈

Close experience with many baobabs, some lizards, geccos and perhaps a hissing cockroach if your guide find it. Local children will try and sell some artwork after the tour.

Many beautiful baobabs, a good guide speaking English and Franch, you can buy good souvenirs.

Le guide, passionné et compétent, vous accompagne tout au long de la promenade. Il est disponible pour toutes les questions et donne des explications sur la faune et la flore.
Le sentier facile et accessible à tout public est plat et facile.
On y voit beaucoup de petits lézards, des oiseaux, avec un peu de chance et des baobab de différentes tailles et dimensions : même un baobab de 13 mètres de circonférence et de plus de 1000 ans d'âge.

Magnifique site à visiter.

Très beau parcours au milieu d’une jolie forêt de baobabs, avec un guide experimenté qui ne se contente pas d’un récit mais a répondu à toutes nos questions 👍🏽

Auf alle Fälle ein Besuch wert, man bekommt die verschiedenen Pflanzenarten erklärt, den Baobab, der falsche Baobab, Kakteen, Heilpflanzen und und und.
Besonders ist der uralte Baobab anzuschauen im Alter von 1200 Jahren

Fantástica reserva con una increíble variedad de plantas y árboles endémicos. Resaltan los baobabs de varias especié endémicas. Pero hay muchas más. Es un lugar extraño - nunca habrás visto un paisaje igual - y sobrecogedor. Y muy llamativo. Hicimos dos visitas: una de tarde para ver flora ( y algo de fauna propia y endémica) y otra a la mañana, para buscar de ver aves endémicas como los couas o cuas, loros (agapornis) y carracas. Vimos un amanecer espectacular. Para ir, debes ir en un carro tirado por cebues. Es una reserva natural magnífica, que aún protege y conserva casi lo que fue el primigenio y único bosque seco espinoso malgache. Merece una visita, si o si.

Visita imperdible, y más si no pudiste ir a la avenida de los Baobabs. Flora y fauna majestuosas. El recorrido es fácil a pesar del calor. El guía Relatse habla perfecto inglés y tiene mucho conocimiento del parque, búsquenlo si hacen la visita.
Al final del recorrido unos niños venden souvenirs, que no son fáciles de hallar en el resto del país, comprenles y recuerden que para viajes en avión en Madagascar los objetos de madera deben ir con el equipaje despachado, pues está prohibido llevarlos en la cabina.

Veľmi pekne upravené chodníčky , všetky stromy a rastliny majú menovky , sprievodca parku vie hovoriť o každej rastline , vtákovi a chrobákoch naozaj fundovane .

Gente encantadora. Conservación de especies, recuperación de Lemures y un guía con un inglés perfecto y una pasión por lo que muestra extraordinaria. Muy recomendable.

La faune et la flore sont impressionnants. Baobabs, oiseaux rares, lemuriens tout est incroyable.

Une belle expérience. Pas loin de ville de Toliara, près de la ville de Mangily. Une nature du sud,des forêts envie de revisiter.
