Atmosphere, food, ambiance was amazing!!!! Best location in the bay by far.. music night was legend, my daughter was invited to sing with the owner (highlight of her vacation). This location totally rocks! Even in low season just spending time in the beautiful bay enjoying the relaxed surrounding of this spot is time well spend. We also really appreciate the owner Raphael who is the heart and soul of the location ♥

Incroyable! The only professional and reliable place we encountered to stay at this bay. The owner is physically present at hotel and gives 10000%. The owners of other hotels close by just cash in and exploit customers and staff. Raphael took us in when Madakite cancelled our booking last minute and immediately offered us his “emergency room” that he has in case they ever have surprise guests. For the next nights he showed us all the different availabilities and was quick to accommodate us.

His heart and hospitality are very visible everywhere. The attention to detail and use of space is genius. His communication with all the guests and staff knowing what is going on and getting to know his guests is remarkable. His strategy and work ethic sustains his hotel and all guests we talked to were very pleased with stay. Even though the hotel is remote he manages the power and water well.

We met many interesting people, chill music, fun bar and lounge area, and rooftop terrace with stargazing.

A whole range of rooms and options for all the different preferences.

Andy the waiter was very kind and spoke great english!

Fantastic place, fantastic location, fantastic kiting! We stayed 17 nights at Kiteparadise and loved it. Kited every day, the restaurant is superb and Raph even plays guitar in the evening! We will be back for sure!

Our time at Kiteparadise in November was absolutely amazing! The bay wasn't crowded (compared to high season) which made it perfect for kiting, especially during low tide. Waking up to freshly cleaned rooms and a breakfast of pancakes and a variety of fresh fruits was the best way to start the day.

The staff, who surprisingly spoke fluent English, added a welcoming touch that made Kiteparadise feel like a second home during our extended stay. The breathtaking sunsets, sunrises, and encounters with chameleons and geckos added an extra layer of magic to our daily relaxation mood of waking up, stretching at the gym space, breakfast, kite and repeat :)

Food at KiteParadise is one of the best at Sakalava Bay, yet I would also recommend exploring the village and tasting the freshly made sweet potato soup for lunch. Its only 2000 airies and super delicious!!

Plus, no need to worry about mosquitoes; we brought repellent but never had to use it.

Raphael, the owner, is not just passionate about kiting; he's also a talented singer and musician. Evenings were filled with jamming sessions and Malagasy songs sung by the staff, creating a very intimate and cozy vibe.

Our adventures to Emerald Sea and Red Tsingy were also unforgettable, despite the bumpy roads.* traveling by car in Madagascar can be quite painful unless you are into Safari-like roads for a longer duration of time.

We're already planning our return and highly recommend Kiteparadise to anyone looking for a perfect mix of kitesurfing and relaxation.

Quick tip: If you're in a 'work away' laptop mood, the internet might not cooperate, so take a break and fully enjoy everything Sakalava has to offer

As the name says: paradise for kitesurfing
A lagoon but also access to waves.
Strong constant winds from march till November.
Quite a remote place with a very nice vibe.
Life music made spontaneous by the guest and host.
The food has quite a variety, is fresh and tasty.
The bungalows are spacious, nicely designed and overlooking the sea.

Great spot, great hotel and most importantly great people!
The bungalows are spaceous, clean and modern with spectacular sea view. The common area is very comfy and there is a great relaxed vibe.
The owner Raph is well organized and very friendly. Food great (both pizzas and malagay dishes/sea food). And staff there is super friendly and good fun to spend time with.

Highly recommend to spend your kite/beach holidays at Sakalava at Kite Paradise.

KiteParadise was a fantastic spot to stay! We enjoyed the serene bay, and chilled out vibes of Raphael's little paradise so much that we kept prolonging our stay. We stayed in the glamping style tents called the Kenyan Maki Lodges, the beds were super comfortabel and its clear the owner has thought of every detail, enough closet space, cosy decorations, a fan, a sturdy drying rack for your gear and a fatboy and couch right infront if you want to hangout near the tent. Due to its location this part of madagascar is beautifully cool at night, so we did not need to use the fan, and there are nearly no mosquitos at all. So we were really able to rest well and recuperate for our daily kiting sessions.

We were both beginners in kiting and got excellent lessons from the very patient Rija and Arsene, but we must say Hery and all of the instructors of the bay work together in harmony and help you and provide tips whenever they can. It was great that we got our own dedicated private teachers who were always available for the entire stay. We are now nearly autonomous (we can stand, turn, brake and have control) after about 16 lessons each during about a week. The wind conditions were good, and because the water is warm and un-deep and the bay closed off by reef, it feels very safe to learn kiting in the Sakalava Bay.

The food at KiteParadise was good, we really enjoyed the camarons (something inbetween a lobster and a giant shrimp), sea fruit pasta, pizzas and the deliciously cheesy burger. All the staff, Sabrina, Kristof, Emma, Chloe... make you feel at home and take the time to have a chat and go above and beyond to show you and tell you anything madagascarian that you are curious about.

The cosy lounge, and rooftop bar with relaxed live music (sometimes played by Raphael himself and accompanied by guests) give a great atmosphere for getting to know the other guests and kiters. We met many people and made friends there, which really added to our holiday.

The hotel helped us organise two (very affordable) day trips, to Amber Mountain and to the Emerald sea. We can advise both.

Thank you to Raphael and the entire team and semi resident guests for making our stay unforgetable and teaching us to kite!

KiteParadise is purely magical. From the moment you arrive you'll feel blown away by the setting and right at home: the team, the facilities, the views, the beach, the rooms, it's unreal!

Raph has really created a slice of paradise here in every sense of the word, including of course kiting. I spent the week learning with Arsène and was really happy to finally be able to stand on the board and actually ride. The conditions were perfect 😊 more experienced kiters had a blast as well throughout the day, at low or high tide.

I'm also super happy about how accommodating the team was to provide a relatively varied vegan option for lunch and dinner for me! Tip: on the way to Sakalava stop by a Score (grocery store in Diego) and get yourself soy milk (there's options!) and you'll be truly all set!

Thank you for an amazing week!

I’ve been reading about this spot for a while and couldn’t believe a word until I’ve witnessed it myself.

Beautiful spot, blasting most of the times, from 25-32 knots even by the end of the season in November.

If you’ve just started kitesurfing it seems this should be one of the months to come and improve, otherwise, you’ll just be watching others flying over the bay with wind over 40-45 knots.

Raphael, the owner of kite paradise, is a one man show running a great operation right in front of the best spot of the Sakalava bay.

I have to admit that finding the best way to travel to Madagascar isn’t as easy as it seems but Ralph made sure it was by giving me all the different travelling options according to where I was coming from, a total rockstar, I’m super grateful.

As kitesurfers we know that a spot with wind isn’t just enough and this is when the daily life at kite paradise fills you up with great memories.

Every member of the staff had an impact on me but I have to say that Sabrina, Clotilde, Serafine, Ema, Cristele and the whole kitchen staff have now a special place in my heart, you made me feel at home.

And, let’s not forget, Raphael is a musician himself so, every now and then, spontaneous jam sessions happen and suddenly everyone comes together to play instruments or even sing and most of the times it escalates to the stage by the lounge, so much fun!

Summing up, if you’re looking for a second home where you can practice and improve your big air game, look no further, Kite Paradise Madagascar is the place to be.

Viluma and misota, my konka adaladala kite paradise family!

Will be back soon,

Konka Master 🤙🏻

We've just returned from a 3 week stay at Kite Paradise and it was just perfect! The've got the balance between comfort and simplicity absolutely spot on. We stayed in the Zebu room which meant we literally stepped out onto the beach to go kiting. It couldn't have been better. Great bar area to have a few beers after kiting - and good for meeting other people. The set-up with Kite Alize for for dinner/lunch was great - the food was simple, but always fresh and of good quality. The staff (with a special mention of Sabrina, Herman and Matthew) were super friendly and helpful. We met some great friends. And the kiting itself was also brilliant - definitely one of the best spots we've been to (and we've been to a few); it's got shallow flat water at low tide, waves, and plenty of space (though we were nearing the end of the season apparently). There are a couple of other places to stay in Sakalava Bay but in my opinion Kite paradise is definitely the best to stay - both in terms of kiting location but also general set-up/vibe.

I've arrived as a stranger and left as a friend! 2020 sure is an exceptional year for travel and the KiteParadise team made me feel extra welcome! It has a fantastic location on the beach, very nice rooms with a great view and comfort and lots of space to relax both in privacy or with fellow kitesurfers.

Awesome place! I was supposed to stay 4 days but ended up staying two weeks..! Staff is super friendly and Raph (owner) makes you feel at home. Whether you are solo traveler, couple or family you'll find great fun there. You quickly feel part of the kite paradise family and don't want to leave. Spot is best I've been. Will definitely be back there.
Btw, highly recommend staying in a tent. Super comfy and sleeping with the song of the waves and wind is priceless.

The owner and manager of the lodge is an active kiter and a great host; this makes for an overall fantastic experience.
Staff is super friendly and there’s a great laid back atmosphere.
The property is in an ideal location and offers a wide variety of accommodation options.
Breakfast is simple but good. For lunch and dinner you’ll have to visit one of the other properties on the bay.
The kiting is “DIY”; if you require lessons or rentals there's a choice of schools nearby.
Overall we had an amazing time, planning to come back. With even smaller kites...

Never was a name more appropriate! We stayed 2 weeks at Kite Paradise and the only bad thing was having to leave! It's more like staying a friends house than a hotel. Matt and the team do the most wonderful job and make you feel so welcome.

We had the Bungalow which has the most magnificent view of the ocean, you even shower with a view of the ocean! The room was large and comfortable. Everything you could need.

The food was also great, Sabrina's crepes the best in Madagascar! There is always cold beer in the fridge and the Punch co-co is a great way to relax the muscles after a days kiting..... and of course the wonderful massages!

The kiting is amazing. Make sure you take your small kites and if you love waves, you HAVE to do the downwinders to emerald bay. Incredible. We got to Kite with whales and the traditional fishing boat experienced the way back is unforgettable.

We could not recommend Kite Paradise enough. It's really was the most wonderful experience.

Amazing Kitespot. We were in one of the maki "tents" - they are super confortable with a really really confortable bed. The Atmosphere at Kiteparadise is great! Many friendly and interesting people. The staff is also great. The location on the spot is probably the best of all the hotels at Sakalava bay - kiters that stay in other hotels often come to kite in front of kite paradise:-)

This place is really magic and one of the best places for Kitesurfing I have been to. The Hotel is directly at the beach and many of the rooms have direct view on the Sea. You can go from Bed directly on to the board.

Raph and Mathieu are super kind and you feel like part of the family in no time. Breakfast is good and you can upgrade with Eggs or Crepes as you wish.

Right next door is Chez Bea and they serve you the best Seafood I ever had fresh from the Sea.

The wind is super strong and blows almost every day in Season. The only reason that keeps you from kiting is because you didn’t bring your small ones (5m2)! Unbelievable place...

This trip was fantastic! The flights went well. My airport transfer was waiting for me and got me safely to the hotel with a scenic view pitstop on the way. The hotel had everything I needed and the beds were comfortable. The mojitos were amazing and the wine surprised me by being of high quality as opposed to cheap house wine. That was a pleasant surprise! The beach was gorgeous and I highly recommend doing the 7 bays hike! Its stunning! Schedule yourself a after kite massage too. The price is well worth it (something like 8 Euros for an hour).

The kiting was amazing everyday. You could kite from sun up to sun down. I do recommend you have at least one kite smaller than a 9m, though I made it work with only having a 9m, by doing morning and late afternoon sessions when it was a bit less windy.

If the forecast has a less windy day, or you just need a break or change of scenery, I recommend the rain forest tour which the staff will arrange for you and includes a city tour and a chance to go shopping.

The food is simple but fresh, healthy and good. Make sure you head to the village for some pre-ordered lobster.

I also loved the multi-cultural aspect. When I was there, about 15 guests were represented by 12 different countries. Everyone spoke either some English or French.

I will be back!

I’ve been to Kiteparadise last August and I had the best time! The accomodation was clean, well decorated and nature-inspired. It’s like a “home-away-from-home” type of hotel. I love the fact that we get to see each other (the kiters) every morning and every night in the common room. I always have a beer at the end of each session and do a bit of dancing (there’s music too!). Fun vibes! Thank you Raph and the staff for making my stay truly memorable!
