The Ile Sainte Marie lies off the east coast of Madagascar. The island’s array of protected bays and inlets drew pirates to Ile Sainte Marie during the 17th and 18th centuries, and the wrecks of several pirate ships can still be viewed from the shallow waters of the Baie des Forbans. Today the island is one of the top tourist attractions in Madagascar. The still, clear waters of the island’s bays make ideal spots for snorkeling. Migrating humpback whales visit the island waters during summer and early fall.

Found a 7ft solid gold crucifix encrusted with rubies just lying on the beach. I’m stinking rich now.

Une île encore préservée et exceptionnelle par la gentillesse des habitants, leur simplicité et honnêteté, les paysages et l'histoire de la piraterie. N'oublions pas qu'au temps où l'esclavage était légal et institutionnel la piraterie était punissable de pendaison mais représentait un idéal de liberté certe brutal mais en accord avec la férocité de l'époque.

Bonita isla con playas de arena blanca, palmeras, aguas calmadas con posibilidad de ver ballenas en su temporada.

Très belle destination, j'ai préféré Ste Marie à Nosy Be pour les différentes activités plongées, excursions en mer ou sur terre etc, la beauté des paysages et aussi la gentillesse des habitants, les bons restos.... Nous étions logés au Princesse Bora un tres bel endroit avec un spa, un bon chef en cuisine, une belle cave à vin et un personnel aimable et très professionnel ! nous déjeunions de temps en temps au centre ville surtout à la Cambusa super resto italien avec des pâtes fraîches maison, la ville est accessible en tuc tuc !

Très belle île avec des gens sympathiques. Beaucoup de visites à faire : baleine, cimetière des pirates, piscines naturelles.... Bien pour un séjour de quelques jours.

C'est un des voyages ou j'ai eu des magnifique souvenirs des gens qui nous accueille, avec une gentillesse et des paysages magnifiques
