Lovely Riad in the heart of the Medina (old town). I visited with my girlfriend and we both loved it. It feels like a personal palace, it’s so quiet and tranquil, while being so close to the busy streets. I loved the room and the decor, we were taking baths every night. We took a massage too which was really nice. The terrace area is amazing for sunbathing or just relaxing (you can also see the stars at night). As well as there is a little pool in the inside garden which looks stunning. I will definitely go there again!

In the heart of Marrakech with easy access to the souks and main square. The Riad is accessed through an alley but the lighting is good & we felt very safe walking. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay & the staff and service was wonderful, especially Haled. Towels were changed daily and bed was made. Overall great experience.

We really love this hotel. It's a little oasis of classy calm. A retreat.

I don't really understand the negative reviews on here. It's a traditional Riad not a modern hotel so don't expect a modern type 5 star hotel. This is a classy charming old style Riad hotel.

We found the owner Slyvie and Mohamed exceptional.

Our room was always clean and well serviced. Breakfast was good. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was good.

The location is really excellent. It's right in the heart of old Marrakesh

The walk to the hotel is through quite a few narrow low tunnels but didn't let that out you off. They are always clean and well lit.

We really recommend this hotel!

We had an incredible 4 night stay in this beautiful Riad. We stayed on a half board plan, and so pleased that we did. The evening meals were always outstanding. A set menu for us, including a different starter salad and a different tagine for the main course every day.

We arrived at the Riad at around 9:30pm and finding the Riad was a little difficult. Google maps only takes you up to what looks like a tunnel which takes you to the front door. Even though we arrived late we were still served our evening meal.

They arranged a private walking tour of the city for the next day for 850 MAD for us, which we paid directly to the hotel. We looked online and could find a cheaper ‘group’ tour but so glad we chose the one with the hotel.

All staff were incredible and very kind. The French owner lady was very kind and spoke with us whenever she saw us.

Looking through the negative comments makes me laugh, if people want an incredible traditional Moroccan Riad experience, I recommend Esprit du Maroc. If you feel more comfortable staying in the 5* hotel chain you’re familiar with then that’s fine and do that.

We’ve been in Marrakech for 3 nights and we had a fabulous time here. Sylvie, Halid & the team are wonderful, they cannot do enough for you.

Our room was full of rustic charm and we wanted for nothing. Everyone was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Don’t be fooled by the negative reviews, we had a great time, was made to feel very welcome. The team organised trips for us on the last minute when we weren’t picked up by local operators.

The riad is down a winding lane but it’s well lit and once you have a few landmarks it’s easy to find your way around.

Thank you Sylvie & team for lovely stay, Marrakesh will remain in our hearts 💕 Terri & Kevin H

Had a great experience here. The staff are super friendly and the Riad is very beautiful. There are plenty of opportunities to take wonderful photos here. The riad is also a walking distance away from quite a lot of tourist attractions, which is a positive. The food is also very nice.

For information purposes the riad is in the old part of the city and therefore if you would like to take a taxi you will need to walk a bit as taxis cannot go directly to the hotel. Alternatively, they do offer a private hire service if you call the hotel, which can solve this.

My husband and I stayed in Sylvies Riad for 9 nights and enjoyed every second. All the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was really nice and cleaned every day. The location was fantastic, 5 minutes walk and your right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Then back into the gorgeous calmness of the Riad. I honestly can’t say one wrong word about our trip. Loved it. Highly recommend this Riad.

What a beautiful riad this is!

The place is truly wonderful to stay at, the staff so polite and there if you need them in an instant! Sylvie who owns it is very approachable and is there to arrange anything, if you require any help, as also do the staff. We only needed a bit of help with the shower one day and that was sorted whilst we were out wandering. Now that's how to keep the guests happy!

Probably the best way to arrive here is to let Sylvie sort out a taxi from the airport, as the driver will walk you to the door. One reference point for us, was the yellow post pox in the triangular open area just before the alleyway to the riad. Once we saw that, we knew exactly our location!

As for the riad experience, it was wonderful and so relaxing. We would start the day with breakfast by the pool, others would have theirs on the roof terrace. We'd then explore and later on come back to change before eating out. We did have an evening meal on our arrival which was delicious but we like to find hidden and not so hidden gems to eat at when abroad.

Our room was massive, with a giant bath and also a quite large bed. There's enough space to hang all your clothes, so there's no problem with feeling as if you're home from home.

The pool was so inviting and we went in that every day, just to help unwind and relax. From the roof terrace we could hear the Call to Prayer, once the sun had dropped under the horizon, which was rather peaceful.

As for the location, it's perfect to explore from and it doesn't take long to reach the main square and once you start to recognise reference points, easy'ish to find your way around.

We highly recommend Sylvie's riad to anyone wanting to visit this city.

Such a great experience. Get lost in the alleyways to find a beautiful entrance to the Riad. The staff are very attentive and cater to all needs. The Riad itself is beautifully decorated and safe haven from the hustle and bustle of the windy streets of the Medina. The rooms were well kept and very spacious. Beds were comfortable and the terrace is peaceful and welcoming. We were able to eat breakfasts in our room or the restaurant. Lovely fireplace in the restaurant and amazing staff. They helped us with any requests in or out of the hotel. Thank you

I have just arrived home from this sunning Riad.
If you have never been to Morocco then this is a must. You are next to to the hustle and bustle but you enjoy the tranquility once you reach the Riad
Madame Sylvie (the owner) is a wonderful host; who only employs the BEST staff. They all made us feel so at home and met our every need.
The food was cooked fresh and made to the best of quality.
I genuinely hope I have the chance to visit again.
Don’t just take my word for it. Go to the Riad.

Sylvie the legend of Marrakesh! Amazing Riad in the centre of the Medina, the staff are very welcoming and helpful; especially with ordering taxis to get around the city.

The recommendations for restaurants and adventures were perfect for our weekend trip.

Merci!!

We have just returned from our stay and had the most amazing time! The Riad is absolutely stunning and well maintained, our room was comfortable, spacious and had an authentic feel which is exactly what we were hoping for. The roof terrace was a favourite spot - the photos don’t do it justice, it was truly gorgeous and we enjoyed having our breakfast there in the morning sun (breads, cakes, fruit, youghurt, jams etc. is provided). However, the stand-out for this Riad is definitely the staff. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome from the lovely receptionist and was given a tour of the facilities whilst our bags were taken to our room. We met the Manageress Sylvie, who was friendly and helpful, and she arranged a private 1/2 day tour of the Medina for us on our first full day. I would 100% recommend this - our tour guide Mohmo (apologies if I have misspelled) was very friendly & knowledgeable and took us to all the main points of interest, in addition to helping us plot orientation points to find our way back to the Riad (this is essential as it’s easy to get lost down the many roads of the Medina); this was a fun start to our trip and in our opinion was very reasonably priced and a must-do. We had dinner at the Riad one night, and for me personally it was the best tagine I ate on our trip (and we had many!). Our waiter Yousef provided 10/10 service not just for our meal but for the whole duration of our stay - he was a stand-out member of staff and couldn’t do enough for us day or night, ensuring we felt very well looked after. Thank you Yousef!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Riad Esprit Du Maroc - it was a great central location, the staff were amazing, the food was great and the setting was gorgeous. My only point I would say to be aware of is the Riad is well hidden and is only accessed by narrow alleyways - not the fault of the Riad and although it was a little spooky at first we felt very safe; it wouldn’t put me off staying again and the Riad itself is a peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle.

Thank you for a great week!

The staff was wonderful from the moment of arrival treating us as welcome guests in their home. They ran out to get wine to do on the amazing rooftop overlooking much of Morocco. Set up transfers to go out to the sites she to the clubs. Fed us so much breakfast and a quality delectable meal for dinner. Highly recommend.

We had a very wonderful experience in our stay in this magnificent Riad. Though the location seems a bit tricky to get there, it will feel like you found a tourist spot inside the area. The manager / owner Sylvie has been really a great host, hands on and so accommodating. Staff were kind and friendly and are very attentive. Room is very spacious, you will definitely immerse yourself with the Moroccan architecture. Will definitely come back again and this place is highly recommended!

We stayed in this Riad for 4 nights and what an amazing place it is.
The Riad itself is very georgous, with an amazing lobby, beautiful roof top and short walking distance from the main square. Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. But for us the biggest highlight of this place was the staff. What an amazing people. They were all so helpful with anything we needed, always smiling, greeting and welcoming you like you're part of their family.
10/10
Would reccomand to everyone.

Absolutely stunning. I stayed at this Riad for 4 nights . The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful and the energy of this place is very grounding.
The staff that works here are very welcoming and ready to serve. I had a Moroccan Hamam with message (such a great experience). I will definitely come back to this place.

Excellent service, Ali and the other staff were very kind and helpful during our stay! Excellent location right in the heart of Old Marrakech. Room was lovely, very big and beautifully decorated. Food at the Riad restaurant was also very nice!!

I would rate it 5 stars even though there are some minor improvements. Staff is incredible, very nice and very helpful. They will help you do anything and you don't even need to ask. Had a very nice massage at this place. The only improvement for the rooms is that some rooms dont have locks inside the bathroom itself. And the improvement for the location is that it isn't immediately clear where the entrance of the Riad is. Overall still amazing.

Superb, albeit well-hidden gem in the heart of the Marakech Medina. Cool interior tiled courtyards with extensive roof garden and terrace overlooking the Medina. Friendly, helpful staff, decent restaurant with great breakfast. Make sure your taxi driver walks you to the entrance as he will have to leave his taxi a couple of 100m away!
