Roof House Hostel Taghazout

Really nice hostel, a no-brainer for when you are in Taghazout.
The hostel Owner Jamal was very friendly and chef Ibrahim cooked delicious meals every day. BBQ night was specially tasty. The place is jointly run with volunteers: Laura and Lisa were super friendly and attentive. Rooms and bathrooms were cleaned on a daily basis. So all in all, good atmosphere, friendly people and delicious food! Recommended!

It was my second time at Roof House and once again I had the best time ever. Brahim and Jamal welcomed me back, this felt really wholesome. The volunteers Sophia and Fayza were amazing and made sure everyone was included. The hostel felt immediately like home. I will definitely come back for a third time soon! My stay at this hostel was incredible! From arrival, Ethan, Olive, and Kayla greeted me warmly. Their dedication ensured a memorable experience. The lively atmosphere allowed for great conversations. The dorms were cozy, and the location convenient. Ethan, Olive, and Kayla's exceptional service made me feel at home. Brahmin and Jamel, the manager and owner, have created something truly special here. Ethan's surf lessons were also fantastic. Highly recommend for an unforgettable experience!

Incredible hostel! The roof top terrace is absolute gorgeous with fantastic views! The hostel really has it all with, communal dinners, surf lessons/hire, excursions around some beautiful areas in the local spots. The staff go above and beyond to make the experience great and the hostel is well decorated and clean. Truely amazing experience, and I can’t wait to come back.

Awesome hostel!! Great location, great staff and great people. Jamal is one of the friendliest guys I have come across in my travels, so welcoming and treats all his guests basically like family from day one. Brahim is an absolute whizz in the kitchen, some of the best food I have ever eaten! I stopped in for a week and ended up staying two months. Will be back for sure.

What a lovely time I had at Roof House Hostel! It's very rare traveling that you feel this much at home, away from home. It all just felt so right from the second I entered the building to the waving goodbye at the doorstep a week later.

I can't thank the staff enough for the warm welcome and the chill, laid-back vibe in the hostel. Brahim & Jamal are absolutely wonderful people! Also special thanks to the volunteers Fayza and Sophia who really stepped up their game to make the hostel a family and were always there for a good laugh and a nice chat!

Beside the lovely staff and vibes, everything else was also splendid! In the evening you can often enjoy the delicious food Brahim prepairs, this is also a perfect way to get to know the other people from the hostel! Rooms are great, location is great.

Planned a university surfing trip (20 people) to Roof House hostel, and I was blown away by the kindness, friendliness, and hospitality we were met with.

Along with accommodation, the hostel provided delicious Moroccan breakfast and dinner every day, arranged day trips to new surf spots and to Paradise Valley, and organised airport transfers for our entire group.

A big thank you to Jamal and the Roof House team for an unforgettable trip!

Amazing hostel. This was my first solo-experience, and it couldn't be better. The host is suuuper friendly and an amazing cook. Cleans a lot so the hostel is very clean. The hostel organized nice trips. Sociable people, good place to meet new friends. Can recommend!

The loveliest hostel, great location and very close walk to beaches and town centre. Ibrahim, Sophia and Jamal were incredibly welcoming and organised lots of trips - particular favourites were the desert and the hamam

I planned to stay 3 nights but ended up extending. The hostel is a nice blend of backpackers, surfers and Maroccan culture. There are two rooftop terraces, which is plenty of common spaces for the 20 beds. The staff is actively involved in making your experience the best: owner Jamal took a bunch of us on an adventurous Paradise Valley trip, cook Ibrahim made Tajine for dinner, and longterm volunteers Kayla, Ethan and Josh formed the social glue of the hostel. I enjoyed a surfing lesson with Ethan, breath work with Josh and chilling around with Kayla. They were full of helpful advice and I lost track of the days after one day, in the good way!

Good vibe and good people ! Best hostel for travelers specially if you’re alone. Special thanks to Ethan and Josh for their hospitality and welcoming.

Awesome hostel - very social vibe in the roof terrace, very easy to meet other travellers and you need up getting to know everyone at the hostel. Chef Brahiem’s meals were a highlight! Easy to go surfing and they offer good deals on surf rentals or lessons. Everyone seems to extend their stay.

had a sick time at this hostel, beach close by, nice rooms and facilities, big communal space and roof tops, the volunteers Olive, Kayla and Ethan were so hospitable and friendly, made you feel at home, kept on extending my stay because of the good vibe

Stayed at Roof House with KCL Surf Club. Jamal and the team were great - organising meals, kit rentals and a day trip to Paradise Valley. Was great value, we will be back next year!

I enjoyed every moment in Taghazout, and a large part of it was thanks to Roof House, I felt at home, they always helped me with everything, and my time at the hostel I always felt like family, A family with whom you can trust, surf and also party.

Stayed last month with a friend and the whole experience was extremely enjoyable! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with tea and warm hospitality.

The hostel is well located to explore all that Taghazout has to offer, the rooftop is a perfect place to hang out and chat with other guests and plan trips around the area. Would recommend to anyone in the area and hope to return soon. Thank you Jamal for making the stay so enjoyable :)

Great place I would recommand if you are on a surf getaway or else, great atmosphere with other travelers and the crew duo Brahim and William. Pleasant rooftop/terrasse, sufficient breakfeast for big appetite. One important point I would like to insist on when you are traveling - putting down your backpack, taking out your things, sleeping in a new bed - is the cleanliness of this hostel, which is ahead of most places here (having been to several). This could be explained by the fact that the crew (one host and one volunteer) are living and sleeping at the place, picking it up when something happens to be lying on the floor, or cleaning if they see something dirty - outside their normal cleaning and working hours.
I don't see negative spots, this is not a complacent comment, but an objective one.

Nice location 5 minutes walking from the beach. Said, the host is very nice and showed us around the first night we arrived. The rooms are great and the breakfast is also very good. We will come back next season for sure in search of the best waves in Morocco.
