Nkhila Lodge

A magnificent experience! The place can be a little tricky to find, but is well worth it! We loved the stay and everything about it! Mohammed was an excellent host, helped by the kittens and dogs. The food was lovely and the time by the bonfire under the starlit sky smoking shisa was unforgettable.

Absolutely amazing and 100% worthwhile if you visit Marrakech. Located about 40 minutes from Marrakech, this desert experiences allows for some quietness and an authentic Moroccan experience. There is a driver that will pick you up 15 minutes away from the camp and drive you through a mostly deserted village that he will tell you people haven’t lived at for 40 years. At the camp you are greeted with mint tea and nuts and once you have finished they take you to your room. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side and i would say no more than 3 to a room otherwise it would be too cramped. The camp is relatively isolated from its neighbours but still has all the regular amenities like wifi, running water, heaters, and two dogs on site that are friendly but will keep their distance unless called on. The food was insanely delicious with choice of dinner. I don’t know if the menu changes but we had vegetable soup, tajine, and banana flambé. It definitely gets cold at night and they were able to provide a heater for the tent upon request that was really needed. Definitely an amazing experience and very accommodating staff.

Wow, just got back from staying the night at Nkhila Lodge, as part of a multi stay holiday, split between Riad Africa in Marrakech, Kasbah Africa in the Atlas Mountains and Nkhila Lodge. All were excellent and very different from eac other so it's impossible to pick a favourite.
Nkhila Lodge was excellent and we are so happy we included it in our trip. Mohammed, the resort manager and his assistant Saad were amazing hosts - very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The accomodation was very comfortable and the scenery was literally breathtaking - like being on another planet. There's plenty of opportunity to take a walk through the spectacular dunes, then we spent a very enjoyable late afternoon with a glass of wine each, watching the sun set over the desert.
In the evening we were served a delicious meal and the guys lit a campfire for us. It was very atmospheric and romantic.
We wished we'd booked another night, but we had to get back to Marrakech as we had other activities planned.
I recommend you give this place a try, it's a fantastic experience.

Breathtaking place!
You are surrounded by beautiful landscapes and mountains. The staff is very professional and friendly.
The tents are very clean, comfortable beds, and lots of space.
I will definitely come back here!

Went here for the sky gazing experience. Absolutely loved it. Made our own tagine, and the views are brilliant. No light pollution which made it great viewing.

We stayed at Nkhila Lodge for one night in June 2022. The location was breathtaking in the middle of an easy-reachable desert, with great view of the Atlas mountains in absolute quietness. We hiked through desert gorges and dry riverbeds around the camp, but there are a lot more activities possible. The tents provided everything needed. We spend a lot of time on the spacious terrace to enjoy the view. The food and the service were excelent!

Amazing place! The view is breathtaking, the tents are super comfortable, the food is splendid and the host is very friendly! I'd recommend this place for anyone who wants to be disconnected from the world and enjoy the beauty of earth for 24h.

Just had 2 nights at Nkhila camp. We arrived late evening, got picked up at the airport and driven to camp which is essential at night as you cannot see the road in the dark! We were served dinner around the camp fire - food was good and very filling. The tents are spacious and clean and the beds very comfortable and despite the cold January temperatures it was really cosy and warm. The night sky was incredible- no moon so stars were sooo bright (just one amazing shooting star).
Woke up to see the sunrise and got to see views like we've never seen before. Great breakfast served in our tent.
We arranged the Desert Hike and were taken on a 4 hr trek (I'd recommend walking boots as it's mainly over rocky uneven ground) - unfortunately the Camels didn't turn up for the evening ride!
We were lucky that we were the only two people there as it was January and were waited on hand and foot by Mohammed and Abdullah but can't thank them and chef enough for making it such a special stay.
If you want peace, quiet, tranquility and relaxation then I'd recommend Nkhila 😃

Highly recommend. Spent one night here and could easily have done more! Mohammed and Bagkir (I apologise for the spelling) were the most amazing hosts. The food was absolutely incredible and the tents were pure luxury. Sundowners on the terrace whilst looking out on a 360-degree view of the beautiful desert was the ultimate highlight. Thank you!

My family stayed in November and we were lucky to see the Atlas Mountains covered in snow. My tent was nice and warm, and as soon as the sun rose, I had a great view from the tent balcony. The tents are built on wood poles and had hot showers, lots of space and were very romantic. Ahmed and Mohamed looked after us really well and gave us lots of useful information about the Agafay desert and its nature.

We had the place all to ourselves and were treated like VIPs. Great team and increadible views.

We had an amazing time , such a great experience . The tents are cozy and romantique , meals are good ( even though it’s a bit pricy (..) . Staff are so nice and polite . We didn’t get the chance to ride the quads or camels but Mohamed ( staff ) took us around a walk trough the village about 1H , it was fun and adventurous ( 20€ ) . We highly recommend this place . ❤

Great and memorable experience that my girlfriend and I had at the Eco-Camp Africa, this place is just MAGICAL!! We really recommend it.
It is about a 45-minute drive from Marrakech. And it offers time to experience the desert & clear night skies. Service was great, the staff were very friendly, attentive and just lovely. Probably the best dinner and breakfast we have ever had! And the tent was very big, well equipped, comfortable and what we REALLY loved about it was the Stargazer Roof (that we didn’t really expect!!) Sleeping under the view of the beautiful stars was really awesome, we loved it so much!!

In addition, the Camel ride offered some tranquil views of the surrounding desert and Atlas Mountains away from the camp. They were so many activies to go for but sadly we didn't have much time.
We will come back someday for sure.

We only came for the day, but both the location and service were outstanding. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. It was definitely the best food we had during our trip.

We stayed at Nkhila Lodge in April 2022 for 1 night and this was such a unique experience and the perfect escape from busy Marrakech. We were served with traditional Moroccan dishes and the service was impeccable throughout. Ultimate tranquility in what feels like the middle of nowhere. There is the opportunity to get more adventurous though and take a camel ride, quad bike tour or guided hike in the Agafay desert

It's hard to get to, but if you and car arrive in one peace it's great scenery and the staff is nice.
