Riad Dar Zaman

We can’t say enough good about this Riad. It’s a beautiful oasis in the Medina, with a warm and welcoming staff who seem to go out of their way to be responsive. The food is wonderful and breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend the dinners and the cooking class. As a vegetarian, they were very accommodating and I always had more than I could eat.

This is one of the best stays I’ve ever had on holiday. The accommodation is beautiful. As soon as you arrive it is like an oasis within the chaos of Marrakech. We arrived around 11pm due to issues at passport control and were still provided with a delicious 3-course meal on arrival. This level on hospitality continued throughout our stay. Breakfast was fresh, filling and beautiful. Rooms and communal areas were spotless. WiFi and AC worked excellently. Location is also fantastic for both exploring the medina and the new town - we went everywhere by foot from the Road. After a day exploring Marrakesh we would look forward to returning to the room or terrace for a relaxing couple of hours. All staff are amazing, some of the most hospitable staff I have ever come across travelling around the world. Adil, in particular, who helped me located a pharmacy and fetched things to help when I was ill on the final day stand ours! I cannot praise this accommodation enough. Please don’t hesitate to book if you’re staying in Marrakech!

The staff did an amazing job making us feel at home. Thanks a lot to Adil and Hassan! Wholeheartedly recommend the Riad, and the cooking class. The downside is that after making and eating the tajine all other tajines we had in Morocco were pretty bad (and we knew why).. Karima is a blessed cook, so have some of her food if you get the chance!

Nothing was too much trouble and our stay in Marrakech was vastly improved by local knowledge and help with booking things and navigating the streets and the ‘what things should cost’ thing. A complete gem in the heart of Marrakech. The riad is the perfect base to explore the city and for a quiet evening to relax on the rooftop terrace.

My husband and I stayed for our honeymoon and Hassane and the team went above and beyond for us, booking our transfers, arranging a day trip for us, helping with airport boarding passes (beware you HAVE to print them to fly out of Marrakech). There really was no ask too big for them and they really made our trip!

The breakfast was fantastic every morning and we would also thoroughly recommend the cooking class with Karima - it was easily the best meal of our entire trip.

100% the only place I would stay if I return to Marrakech!

We stayed at Riad dar Zaman for an entire week, we were in the terrace room(I think it is the best room from far). You have straight access to the terrace which is nice.

In terms of services, I would like to thank Hassan and Adil, two amazing folks, always polite, extremely professional and friendly, thanks to them we had our best experience in Marrakech, They had advised us on every aspect of the city, cafes, restaurant tourist atraccions etc...

They will make you feel at home, and you will feel as if they were your friend from many years ago. Without Adil and Hassan our Holidays would not have been the same.

As for the Riad itself, what an amazing gem,
Once you get into it, you will forget about the bustle of the city, it is a little paradise and a quiet place in the middle of the agitated Medina.

In few words, I would defenetely recommend Riad Dar Zaman for your stay in Marrakech.

Riad Dar Zaman was wonderful. Communication and price was excellent. They sent someone to get us and although our flight was late our ride was right there waiting for us. Rooms are perfect size for 2. We stayed in a room on the 2nd floor, but I wish we had gotten the terrace room. The room is smaller but you get the patio access right outside your door. The staff made me feel like family from the minute I walked through the door.

Tips:
Eat at the Riad- and do the cooking class. We ate at many of the fantastic restaurants that the Riad recommended but the two best meals I had on the entire trip to Spain and Morocco was at the Riad. We had vegan meals but I'm sure the meat options were good too.

Explore the medina, talk to the people, have fun -but don't bother with the knick knacks. It's all from China. The more they reassure that their's is real the more you can be sure it's not.

Go to the Women's Museum nearby.

You can walk to just about everything within the medina. We only did a cab once and its because we were late for a tour. Adel helped us!

What's not to love about Riad Dar Zaman? I was recommended this riad myself by a travel blogger and while I'm no travel blogger, I am well travelled, and this riad was just absolutely wonderful.
This beautiful riad is situated in the Medina and is not too far away from an accessible car parking area.
I didn't book direct (I wish I had in hindsight) and had a car collect me at the airport, to bring me to the medina. The driver called the Dar Zaman & the fabulous Hassan was there to greet me at the drop-off point and brought my luggage and me to the Riad, showing me little landmarks on the way. I arrived before 11am and Hassan went thru the checkin details, gave me friendly tips and pointers & really made me feel so welcome. I was lucky my room was available straight away and I couldn't believe how beautiful the room and bathroom were. The bed was super comfy, the toiletries (which you can also purchase at the riad or in the souks) were devine. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace with loungers and parasols should you wish to just lounge in the sunshine. Breakfast was included and it was a sumptuous feast of traditional Moroccon bread, eggs and pancake, served with fresh yoghurt, preserves, avocado, humus and plenty of fruit! The owner of the riad, Peter introduced himself to me on my first morning there and the place just felt so homely but with privacy. Everyone was super lovely and I would highly recommend Riad Dar Zaman for its beauty and comfort, its location and cost but most of all the superb staff that are running this beautiful Riad. Thank you all.

We had a fantastic stay at Riad Dar Zaman. The riad is beautiful, rooms very comfortable, with a lovely terrace — and the mint tea on arrival was such a special touch that already made us feel right at home. It's perfectly located a short walk from the medina and very accessible to everywhere else you'd want to go in Marrakech. A special shoutout to the entire staff at the riad, who really go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. Without a doubt, have dinner at the riad while you're there. We reserved it for the night we arrived, and then again our final night. The food coming out of that kitchen is remarkable. I can't recommend Riad Dar Zaman highly enough!

Best place to stay in Marrakech for a decent price. I have now been back 5 times and have loved staying there each time. The staff, food and comfortable rooms are amazing, and it is a botu a 5-minute walk from the Medina. Highly recommend.

Great small and personal place to stay. Staff excellent, very helpful and make the stay memorable. Location a bit daunting at first but after a day or so became easier . Local restaurants, souks great places to visit . Would recommend this Riad to anyone wishing to experience the real taste of Marrakech

We recently returned from a 4 night stay at Riad Dar Zaman and had the most wonderful time. We were in the terrace room which was small but perfectly formed, the direct access to the rooftop terrace was particularly lovely, I enjoyed the mornings sitting out there listening to the birds sing. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh, a great way to start your day. The location was very good, you can walk to all of the main sights and areas easily, the orientation given when checking in was so helpful as the medina and souks can take a while to learn your way around. We booked all of our transfers and excursions via the Riad, which made of easy planning of our trip. We did a 1/2 day city tour, an unforgettable hike and lunch in the Imlil in the mountains and a highlight was the cooking class at the Riad which including exploring the local area with Peter. All the excursions were well organised and of high quality. The real jewels in this trip were Peter, Hassan and all of the staff at Dar Zaman, they literally couldn't do enough to help us, answering questions before we arrived, planning our trips and then during our stay. Thank you for helping us to make some special memories.

Our stay at Dar Zaman could not have been more wonderful. The riad is very charming and cosy, and Peter and his staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! The roof terrace is lovely and provides a peaceful respite from the chaotic excitement of the medina. Spent a fantastic day at Riad Dar Zaman where we enjoyed a fascinating class on Moroccan cooking, which including a tour of the local area and market. Hassane was an excellent host: knowledge, friendly, and he made us all feel extremely welcome. The riad itself is a beautifully decorated traditional guesthouse, a proper oasis, and wonderful venue. Me and my boyfriend stayed at Riad dar zaman for a week in the end of April. This was a trip of a lifetime thanks to the team and Dar zaman. From start to finish everyone in the riad was so attentive, kind and just simply amazing. Hassan and Aldi were incredibly helpful. Peter the owner was also very kind and great and giving us information prior to trip( booking our camel ride and. door to door service, which was amazing, driver very kind and air conned car, was a nice touch to have arriving and leaving!) Hassan gave us a detailed map, explaining in detail what he recommended. From food to gardens to music museums.He went through some simple language and cultural points to help us navigate the medina and the beautiful marrakesh. He essentially gave us all the information we needed and we instantly felt comfortable and ready to explore. We stayed in the terrace room, it really felt like home. The terrace was beautiful, we had breakfast on the rooftop every morning and was also a great place to relax in the day with a lovely cold outdoor shower. Breakfast was incredible with a range for everyone! We ate for dinner here and also had lunch and by far the food we had here was the best we had in our whole stay. Orange cake, kefta tagine and chicken couscous is amazing ! They really have some amazing chefs making the most authentic morrocon food.

We had constant supply of cold filtered water, complimentary nuts and mint tea. The room cleaning service was lovely they made the room very tidy with fresh towels, the little details such as putting all my hair grips together was a lovely touch, everyone in the team had a smile and said hello. We felt so welcomed!

The riad was clean and the plunge pool was lovely for hot days. On a whole the interior was incredible. Also great location very close to all popular attractions if not a very short cheap taxi away!

We are still astonished that by the end of the first day Riad dar zaman felt like home! We loved our stay and we will be back and also recommending this riad to anyone visiting marrakesh.

I can talk forever about the team at the riad and the moments and service they provided that truly made our trip.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Dar Zaman - from booking through to check out, the process was attentively and helpfully orchestrated by a superb team who handled everything with care and warmth. The Riad is beautiful and felt like home; the dinners were among the best we had in Marrakech; the rooftop patio is divine; daily breakfasts were tasty (though could perhaps benefit from some variability) and although the evenings and mornings in January were quite cold, when the fireplaces were roaring, it was cozy and lovely. In terms of the on-site staff - they were superb and made us feel as if we were visiting our home away from home and helped us settle in and feel comfortable navigating the city. We would stay again in a heartbeat - and hope to do so sooner than later.

We met Peter, Hassane, Adel, Karima and two more employees (Unfortunately I can't remember their names) - each one of them was very pleasant and made our stay memorable. We particularly enjoyed the cooking class which included a walking tour in the markets with Peter followed by the physical cooking class with Hassane and Karima.

The food we had here was incredible and probably the best moroccan food we had in our 15 day trip. Well worth the price and would definitely recommend!
