Ihmadi Trilobites Centre

We booked a full day excursion with Mohand Ihmadi. The tour started at 9:00 a.m. and ended around 5:00 p.m., there were two of us.
The itinerary includes a visit to 3 locations (2 fossils, 1 petroglyph), a visit to the museum under construction with lunch and a visit to the Workshop for processing the finds.
We really enjoyed the day and the tour is absolutely worth the price (Dh800 for 2 people including transport). Mohand is not a smalltalk-type of guide, you should bring a few questions. All of our questions about the region, the geology and the finds were answered very competently. The finds are processed very skillfully and you take home a rich loot.
We can only recommend this excursion to anyone interested in geology and fossils!

We had fantastic experience with Mr. Ihmadi in his Trilobites center! Trilobites center is small shop, with many fossils and minerals. We asked Mr. Ihmadi and we made cca 2,5 hour long trip to location, where we dig our own trilobites! It was fantastic experience! On the way be back, he took use to the place, where were cca 7 000 years old petroglyfs. It was amazing.
After our return in his shop we cleaned digged fossils with small hammer and dentist tools. It was great.
For our son, who loves minerals and fossils, it was one of the strongest experience from Morocco :-) He showed this fossils in school and all the classmates were stunned, that it was trilobites we found by ourselves.

The shop is awesome and have a lot of different fossils. You can buy assured that there are no fakes in this store. At the same time, Mohand was our guide for different days of fossil hunting excursions and it was awesome. If you want to do some fossil hunting I have to recommend to book with Mohand Ihmadi.

Sir Ihmadi is a very knowledgeable person who likes to explain everything about the geology of Morocco, the fossils found and of course the trilobites. There are many extraordinary beautiful specimen for sale to choose from. You can also find some minerals and even prehistoric tools.

We stopped by while the owner, a geologist, was present. He spoke excellent English and explained the types of fossils, including trilobites, ammonites, corals and orthoceras. We could see how the fossils are painstakingly separated from the surrounding rock. Prices seemed fair, so if you're looking for genuine fossils, this would be a great stop. No tourist sales pressure.

Owner and geologist Ihmadi takes really good care for us. We arranged a 2hour trip the day before. We drove with our car to an fossil spot and spend 2.5hours searching for fossils. Ihmadi could explain a lot about the geology of the area and had a good eye to find the fossils.

We spent a fantastic day with Mohand! He is extremely knowledgeable about geology and is a wonderful guy to spend a day learning from. He took us to see local petroglyphs, hunting for fossils, to see his farm, the old Ksar, and then we had lunch with his family. We found a bunch of trilobites, brachiopods, and even a crinoid or two. I can't recommend him enough!!!

Great place to buy real fossils and to start your excursion. Owner took really care of us. Recommended!

Espectacular visita a los centros de extracción de fósiles. Monsieur Ihmadi es master en Geologia y acompaña habitualmente a grupos. El trato fue exquisito y lo disfrutamos mucho. Recomendable para familias con adolescentes. Sólo habla francés e inglés. Sólo la visita a la tienda ya es obligatoria. Además está trabajando para abrir un museo en la ciudad.

Très belle expérience chez Ihmadi! Nous avons reçu une belle leçon de géologie. Merci pour le temps qu'il a pris pour nous et pour ses explications.
